I played this matchup once at fnm. Game 3 dude had me on the ropes with a wide board of some big angels but I ripped an untapped 5th land to play galvanic iteration into anger of the gods. It was disgusting

You sir got some good luck, because in my testing with angles (approaching 200 matches) angles is HEAVILY favored vs pheonix. Im sitting at 11-4 im the matchup, the only better matchups for angles ive found are spirits, humans and mono red/burn

Angel Tribal is already in Selesnya colors so i always wonder if the extra taplands to add blue are worth it. Here Livalla saved the game once so i guess it is, but are 3 Glasspool Mimics needed/not too many?
Yeah, I play the Selesnya one and I always wonder the some. For me it looks not to be worth it going blue, I prefer cleaner mana base with more utility like Mutavault and also having the option to play Book. Instead of Linvala there is still Selfless Spirit (in SB)

Made a funny grixis pheonix/control list, would love to see some form of a pioneer grixis deck on here
Grixis mid is a fringe deck but just a worse rakdos
Iâve tried a grixis phoenix shell. 3 colors is too inconsistent. Blue red makes it flow better and youâre getting what you need faster. I was using lilliana x2 nicol bolas. Thought seize fatal pushes. But ran too many shock lands so by the time I could do anything Iâve shocked myself half to death.
Ledger shredder x4 in phoenix is like a must, the card is busted, thing in ice should of been a 2 of or 1 of and some in the side
I see most list run 1 in the main 1-2 in side. I run 2 and 2. I just love thing in the ice. When the card first came out I said itâd see play and itâs at least included in the shell and played some 4-5 years later đ

Angels are really fun, IMO better then regular lifegain Strategies as the beaters in the air are good on their own most of the time
Idk how Angels can be fun, literally the most braindead deck in Magic. Requires no thinking, just play 1-2-3 drops until you get to 27 life
@@Scoob3rs Have you seen Goblin decks? Itâs putting Gobbos on the field and swing. Have you seen Mono Green? Itâs ramp with elves and beat with tramplers. Have you seen any moderately aggressive/Midrange creature based deck? All of them follow that plan: play creatures and win from there
@@schumerus6786 All these decks youve mentioned require thoughts on how and when to attack, when to remove your opponents creatures. Angels you literally play your creatures and hope you get to 27, no thinking whatsoever
@@Scoob3rs Your most detested deck must be Selesnia Lifegain then, that one is life gain focused to the core
If you can fit 1 to 2 Legion angels in the angel deck you can actually get a full party with linvala, since glasspool mimic is a rogue and stays that way

@@behemoth1158 I think linvala is strong enough solely based on preventing sweepers. But you could consider it for sure

25:30 I'm confused about why Eli didn't just Strangle the Valkyrie in Jamin's end step to be efficient here, then he could have played the turn 2 Thing in the Ice like he wanted. He took 2 to have that land come in untapped for no reason.

It was broken, we've stopped using that camera since, but there is not much we could do at the time since we were waiting for our new cameras to arrive

Unfortunately, there was not much we could do about it. The lens was not dirty, it was broken. We were just waiting for the new lens we had purchased to arrive

I hate white decks, expecially angels, but for some reason if the opponent is izzet Phoenix I will always root for the angels
