  • This is our product review of the @HusqvarnaUSA ST230P 2 stage walk behind snow blower. These machines come packed with a lot of great features such as hand warmers, electric start, steering assist, and LED headlights. The LCT engine seems to have plenty of power. The design of the auger ribbon and the high speed impeller work just as advertised by Husqvarna! This machine can chop through the thick heavy snow thanks to the design of the hefty serrated auger ribbon. The Auger then pushes the chopped up snow back into the 2nd stage of the system, the high speed impeller. The impeller doesn't just throw snow, it LAUNCHES the snow out through the durable steel blower chute to distances of 30 feet or more! This machine is easy to start. Easy to maintain. And VERY easy and comfortable to operate! How easy and comfortable? This machine can actually be ran and operated with ONE hand once you get the hang of it! That is a HUGE plus if you have a lot of snow to remove in the freezing cold. #HusqvarnaReady #Husqvarna #SnowBlower #SnowRemoval #DBTV #LCT

    In my 7th winter using the Husky ST 230P: I'm out in the country on a1/4 mile+ dirt driveway and dirt parking areas around house and back pole barn. Only snowblower I've owned/used, not able to comment about other types/brands. This machine is a 'trooper', having performed as needed all 7 winters now. Are there some problems/situations when using it? Tell me what machine doesn't have situations and an occassional problem? This snowblower has done Yoeman Duty over the years. Sometimes have trouble keeping the drive belt for the auger/impeller on (jumping the v-pulley tract), which is most likely from wear in 7 years and I need to attend to some maintenance. Had no problems with it the first 4+ years. Now I just tape the handle for the auger/impeller down in the engage position and have no problems. As said, most likely just needs some maintenance/adjustments. I'm on my 3rd impeller now - not so much a problem of the impeller strength, rather having to deal with dirt road driveway/parking areas and encountering rocks - a larger than gravel rock will pount the impeller paddle just like hitting it with a hammer - of course it's going to get bent out of shape. Just as replacing a v-belt is a few bolts removed and some basic common sense mechanic skills, so it is when having to replace an impeller. Again, I snowblow in dirt road conditions. Engine has run-n-run-n-run just fine over the years - no complaints. I have added flat-rubber-blades onto the impeller blades, to reduce the gap between the impeller and side-wall of the impeller housing area - this increases the amount of snow thrown out of the chute, both in quantity and adding another 5-7 feet distance of throwing the snow off to the side. Also, added a lenth of 1/4" rope to the chute top so can pull it more-so to a 90 degree angle, when throwing snow to the side of the snowblower - this gets me a little more rearward angle of snow throwing. Plastic parts: haven't had any plastic items break yet. I did make angle-iron skids for use on the dirt road, as the plastic ones that came with it wore down rather quickly.
    Would I purchase another Husqvarna ST 230P snowblower? Having the experience of using the one I've had for 7 years now: yes and would not hesitate in doing so. Hope this 'real world' 7 years use of this Husky helps someone out. regards to all...

    Nice review. However, about the chute, there is nothing wrong with a plastic chute. Some manufactures use polymer chutes that lasts just as long as steel chutes. The chute on my Troy-built has held up well. They do scuff up like steel chutes do, especially if stones are being sent through the chute. They also hold up well in below freezing temperatures.Thanks.

    Only thing I don’t like about mine is the heated bars really don’t get hot or warm, maybe luck warm. Hard to tell if they are even on.

      The switch for the hand warmer when pushed forward ( toward the engine) is on, When you push the switch to the 0 it's off. Always thought the 0 was on. oops. Good video and explanation. I have the ST224.

      yeah mine does the same on the 327 and even slow at 6th gear wich sucks with dr field and brush mower its faster speed forward and reverse wich thats a reason im replacing husqa 327 towards a dr brush mower plus nice its a 4 season year round 1 machine with 5 attachments and nice on dr has a yellow pto switch from a tractor wich alot nicer and solid tires that dont go flat with 14.5hp unit

    @4:40.. Oh, you mean like that plastic exit chute they put at the BOTTOM of the mettle chute? I agree. THEY cheap out and have gone to plastic parts when they can. Thats why I'll replace my Ariens snowblower with a Ariens. Everyplace the snow touches is metal. But, fwiw, thats why I got my Husquarva lawn tractor. Hood, etc.. is not plastic.

      @hugeslacker Před 3 lety

      Because there's no good way to transition from KUH sound to VAR sound without the UH, since KUH is pronounced with an UH. And since the next sound is VAR, you hear HUS-KAH-VARNA. Unless you were to say HUSK VARNA as two separate words you're probably going to say HUS-KAH-VARNA.

    I have an ST 230 it’s junk
    Goes way to fast backwards
    No 1st or 2nd gear forward
    Why I’d this the only cable with no adjustment? Bad design
    Doesn’t cut through deep snow , just try’s to climb up on top of it.
    Had a 20 year old cheap Canadian tire machine that worked way better, but sadly after 20’years it was worn out.
    I would not recommend this product
    Very expensive ($1,799.00) 2 years ago.
    Has anyone found an adjustable cable that fits this machine?

    Techumseh engines wow I had some major issues with it even tho its looked after..
    Wonder which one I would pick
    Husqwarna
    Ariens
    Or Club Caded

    • @DirtyBuffaloProductions
      @DirtyBuffaloProductions  Před 5 lety

      Tecumseh's engine division was sold several years back. The company that purchased it was not able to use the Tecumseh name so they go by LCT (Liquid Combustion Technology). They make engines for several different equipment manufactures. The engines on these snow blowers are made by LCT, but branded Husqvarna because they are built to Husqvarna's requested specs. Just like Briggs & Stratton engines in lawn tractors. One might be branded Husqvarna and another branded John Deere.

      Question I have how to do store it in summer empty tank and add some fuel additives??
      Anything particular I need to know maintain easy and is it ok to use Higher grade of fuel like 91 octane?
