  • Today we go to a private beach 50 km outside of Prague at Lhota Lake and I try a cheap 50 Kc Meatloaf (about 2 USD). This is my first time going to a beach in the Czech Republic.
If you have any recommendations on other beaches to go to in the Czech Republic please share in my comment section.

Sand is not washed and birds don't pick little trees from that, but at least it's not artifical beach like they have in some countries at rivers where you have to bring more and more sand there after water takes it. We don't have any big natural lakes in Czech Republic, almost all our lakes are former sand mines, so that is (who would expect that) why sand is there. 😀 Most of Czech kids grew up in dirty ponds with mud instead of beach, so these new lakes in former sand quarries look really luxury for us, most of them are very young, it's there like 20-30 years, there will be typical freshwater mud in future too I guess. 😀

Yeah there are some states in the US that have no naturally occurring lakes as well and they resort to filling up old mines as well with water. I specifically went to a couple of those “lakes” in southern Illinois when I lived there a long time ago. I grew up close to Lake Michigan and probably didn’t appreciate it enough while I was there 😀

If you have some time come to visit Brno, you can take a boat trip to a real castle here)

@@ThePragueExpat0 it is called Brno dam, it is cca 30 minutes by tram from the city center. You go to take a water tram (like a bigger boat) and go on it for around 40 minutes to Veveří Castle while enjoying the views (and of course you can get a glass of beer on board)

That's a nice beach but definitely not the biggest water body in the Czech Republic you can swim in. We have many great options for bathing in nature! On another note, I kinda assumed that Lake Michigan is too high up north for people to swim in it. Don't laugh at me, please...

Yeah just the biggest Iv been to so far. What is your favorite place to swim? My son really like it there and the swimming pools in Prague are always so crowded these days.
The beach at Lake Michigan is really nice this time of year. It’s pretty good to swim in June through August. Lake Superior on the other hand way up north has a much shorter season where it’s ok temperature to swim.

He is saying something like "L-houta" or "LaHota." You can't want from English speaker to pronounce LH without inserting extra vowel. 😀
