- It's time for new tires on the C7 Grand Sport. I ran into supply chain issues at my local dealer, so I talk through how I got the tires faster, and what makes them so special on this car.

I’ve been using Tire Rack since mid 2000, all positive experiences. I just had new Pilot Sport 4S installed on my C7 as the original low mileage tires were hard and slick after 6 years. The new tires have excellent grip.
Hi DoubleAction2,
That's great to hear! I was so pleased as well, and plan to use them going forward! Nice to know that they've been reliable and good to work with for a long time! Thanks for reaching out!

Tire Rack is now the mail order partner to Discount Tire that sells retail and installs. Tire Rack offers better technical support and testing.
Ya , Tire rack Is unbelievable Good , I’ve used em many times
Hi Mark!
I was *floored* when MacMulkin said it would be weeks and weeks to get the tires, and Tire Rack had them to my house (for less money) in a few days. I'd heard good things before, but never used them, and after such a good experience, I would definitely buy from them again.
It sounds like you've had good experiences throughout as well (which is nice to hear)!
Have a good night, thanks for reaching out!

Awesome 👍 what's the link to order the tires... I'm thinking about getting a new set.
Thanks 🙏
Hi Team Hmongol,
I just went to www.tirerack.com, you can type in the model of car and it shows you the ones that fit. I got the Michelin Pilot Super Sports, which are fantastic, and a good balance between tread life, and traction. The Cup 2's are great for the track, but wear out after ~6k miles, so I'd rather get about 15k miles with these.
Good luck, thanks for the comment!

Have you had any cracking issues with the original wheels?
Hi Orlando,
Thanks for reaching out! Knock on wood, I haven't had any issues, however since I learned about it early on, I have been worried about it. I actually did a video with a section about that issue specifically about a year ago (czcams.com/video/SdVCXYXEjDg/video.html). The roads near where I live are very hit or miss, some are smooth, but a few are downright treacherous, and it's always in the back of my mind that they could crack. Fingers crossed I don't run into any issues, but I wish it wasn't something I had to worry about.
Have a nice evening!

You didn’t want to try the R888’s?
Hi Sunnytkd1,
Thanks for reaching out! I had such good luck with the Pilot Super Sports that I thought why mess with a good thing? But you raise a good point, I didn't honestly think much about other brands. I guess I'll need to do some homework, and a few track events to burn through these and give them a try! I'm always up for seeing what else is out there, and just didn't think about it this time.
Mental note added to check out the Proxes for next time!
Have a nice day!

Edit - As I was writing this, I checked Tirerack, and they seem to only go up to 325's for the rears, I'll have to see if they make one wide enough!
@@FredsFullThrottle I saw the same thing. I have a 19 GS as well and was looking at the R888’s or the Nittos. I run the Nittos on my camaro and they work really well. I Have looked at the forums and it seems that a lot of people are able to run the 325’s on the rear on stock rims. I will let you know when I need new tires lol. I just hit 11k on my vette 😭
Are You in Pa. Fred?
Hi Brian,
No, I'm in New Hampshire. I've visited PA a few times, loved driving around the countryside, but haven't been in a long time.
Have a nice day!

Ok, reason I asked was that I was wondering what plans You have for the old rears? I hit the drag strip last Sunday with Our GS and became addicted immediately! I need to get a set of rear rims/tires for that sport. Man is that FUN!!!!
@@brianw8963 That's awesome! Had I known I could have held onto them and shipped them to you for cost of shipping. I had MacMulkin put the new ones on, and they held onto the old ones (after asking if I wanted them). It might be a stretch, but they probably have a stockpile of old rears from Z06 and GS's as they change out a lot of tires. Maybe if you called them they could sell you some used ones. Mine still had reasonable tread left for sure. I doubt they're recycling them every day.
Congrats on trying out drag racing, I've been thinking about giving it a shot (there's a place down the road from me), but have been a bit afraid of putting it into a wall.
You look tired……I know l know
Bwah hahahahaha!! Love it!
I'll never get tired of jokes like that, they'll never rubber me the wrong way! Sometimes you have to tread carefully when you reach out, since you aren't sure if you'll be told to "get a grip". :D Haha, I'll let myself out!
Totally made my morning Shaun, thanks for reaching out!
Have a great day!
