Came for the cryptids, stayed for everything else. All of STM's docs are so well done. Look forward to watching them on Sundays.
We are glad to hear that you enjoy what we create! -Aleks
Places like this being documented before there gone ,you gotta love it ,live it ,embrace it, Aleks ,great job putting this trip all together
Thanks for being a part of the adventure man! -Aleks
That was really good fun. I started hunching over too and was getting neck ache as you lot were going along the upper level. STM videos are always very immersive! Many thanks.
Enjoyed this immensely.
Glad to hear that Shannon! -Aleks
Me too.
I've been here a bunch of times, I live 10 minutes from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in NEPA.. so cool to see this on your show!
570 holla!

@@SoundStream101I'm in Lehman.
I grew up in Ashley, and used to play in the Huber Breaker (Blue Coal that you were able to see from I-81) when I was a kid...maybe a mile from Nanticoke (you can wiki Huber Breaker). Too bad they never got the funding to make it a historical site. I spent much of my childhood in the "Ashley Shops" where my Popop repaired the railroad cars when the Breaker was still in operation. That whole area was built on the coal industry, and many of the towns, including Nanticoke are named after Native American tribes. And btw...you get all kindsa pronunciations for "Barre"...Berry, Bar (as the video calls it), but most residents call it just plain "Bear" like the animal :)
And, Lehman...I started my Penn State education there in '92 before heading to State College. Cheers :)
I live in Western PA... so many places like this. Fascinating to visit.
@@Ms.Andrist It’s the westernmost ridge of the Alleghenies, rising in southern Indiana County and continuing to the south-southwest for approximately 75 miles, stretching Westmoreland and Fayette counties and on into West Virginia. It gradually fades into a series of hills about 5 miles southeast of Morgantown, W.Va.
Love this type of videos exploring the old and forgotten. I have seen the power of water and what it can do. Would like to see more of this. Stay safe and keep exploring.
Aleks does banger videos.
I have always wanted to explore my home state but my friends aren't into it so I'll enjoy videos like this instead. Pennsylvania is so big and has so much history in the state alone good and bad it's like one will never get bored of exploring it.
Hope you can find some exploring buddies, but until then glad to share our adventures! You're very right, PA has so much to see and explore, this was barely scratching the surface. Thanks for watching! -Aleks
So true. Pennsylvania is a rich place historically and to explore in.
Another good one guys! Very much enjoyed watching! Thank you! Really enjoy these on Sunday evenings!
I really enjoyed this video!
Great spooky video guys !!
my parents owened a farm in wayne county pa.in 1983 i came face to face with a very large white forest being with gray skin well out deer hunting.pennsylvania has alot of strange things going on there.could be from all the old coal minds.
That has been seen in Carbondale, Pa as well… not too far from Wayne County. I have also heard a few stories about this from the Poconos, again not too far.
What did it look like thin, naked, hairy please tell more
Can’t wait
Thank you!
Looks cool Aleks!
Great show!
Grew up south of these locations. Always went exploring in my late teens and loved it. Highly recommend going to visit in fall if anyone can
Great video !! You need to visit Centralia, PA. It's a ghost town that has a coal mine fire that has been burning underground since 1962. Also visit the cemetery which because of the underground fire has gravestones sinking into the ground.
Look up the Laurel Run mine fire in Wilkes-Barre, so much better for exploring than Centralia!
Dang Aleks. That was delightfully disturbing.
Thanks for all of your hard work.
Awesome to hear you enjoyed it Scott. Each location gave off a different creepy vibe, which is why I went with the post apocalyptic theme for the overall video. Appreciate you checking it out. -Aleks
Those freaky silo's at timebar 57:40 are storage for the first step in pre-fabrication of paper. In this silo water was mixtured with raw paper waste and cleaned before the second stage wich was to mixed the paper with a amount of water and create a sheet for the heated paper rollers.
Very fascinating info, that definitely makes sense. Thanks for checking out the video! -Aleks
I've only been to a few of these kinds of places in my life, but when I was walking through them, I would just be barraged with impressions. Hard to describe, but maybe they were the fleeting thoughts, or feelings, emotions, or intentions of people who were there in the past. I would have an impression of someone going to do a task, or someone who was angry or upset by something that had happened there, or someone who was in a hurry. The impressions would last for only a second or two, not fully formed thoughts or images, just impressions. And definitely from other people's minds. Hard to explain, but this video reminded me of those experiences I had in the past, especially of when I went to New Mexico and visited Chaco Canyon. I know, not post apocolyptic or ruins of our century, but they were still ruins, and they were definitely full of impressions. Anyway, thank you for a very different, and very enjoyable video.

Our money should stay in this country and be used on Americans not foreign Invaders or our country will be none better than the countries these people are fleeing
Reminds me of when I used to watch Through The Keyhole.
Turnpike tunnels are very cool, I hiked them, should be a good video.
My grandfather took me to those tunnels in the mid 70’s. Still looked fairly well maintained but that was near 50 years ago
@@Fraser-369 I can only imagine how much better they looked back then! -Aleks
Loved the video. Fascinating! BUT, every time you looked through a hole in the floor down to the lower levels, my head did a somersault! A crumbling flight of steps: 'This looks sketchy...' I think the word you want is 'dangerous'! And as for the walking out on an exposed wall only a few feet wide... I had my finger on the pause button all the time.
Thank you for taking me on a voyage of discovery to places my vertigo would never allow me to go!
Looking forward to the next one!
So glad I found this channel :) , been catching up on the Big Foot series and this is another good series . It does truly astound me seeing such places and brings back memories of such adventures , though not on this scale . Being as I'm from Brisbane , QLD , Australia , places like this are usually well fenced off and patrolled by security . Brisbane used to have a few interesting places but now it's either demolished or developed . The few good adventures I had were back in the mid eighties , when I was much younger :) . Look forward to see what's next :) .....
These would be great places for metal detecting with the history and abandonment. Nice video!
There's great metal detecting here in Pennsylvania. I do well here with it!
I didn't know there was an Austin PA. Did know of the other 2 locations. I hope you enjoyed the ride from Wilksbarre to Mechanicsburg. If you took 80 at all, it's beautiful scenery. Love seeing Chewey always 💕 TY. Further west there are some interesting sites if you ever pass through like Fort Necessity and the beautiful Ohiopyle park. Oh yeah Chestnut Ridge. I know you've been in that area. (Love those videos) TY
I also didn't know there was an Austin PA, and l am from Allegheny County. I wished l lived in a different country far away ,l mean far ,far ,far away from the city limits.
That was way cool to watch! My only concern would be why bring a dog along with all that broken glass, & sharp metal lying around? I would be afraid that it would get a nasty wound on its paws. 😞
Thanks
Props for leaving your camera on the narrow walk way knowing you have to go back for it. I went in places when I was younger, use to climb around buildings pulling in wire, I would not want to do it any more, to old. The old paper mill should be taken down, but the insurance for a controlled explosion would be more than a land owner could afford, the county or state would need to sanction it. Looked like some cutting charges would take it down pretty quick, but I know very little on it really. Thanks for another entertaining video, Sir; would have been funny if you heard a large animal scream at you guys when you were at the mill, lol.
😂
Reminds you of the movie I Am Legend. Great episode thank you ❤
Wouldn't want to find a hive in the basement of that papermill.
@@badgerpa9 definitely not. 💜
This is different but enjoyable
Glad you enjoyed it Linda! -Aleks
Agreed.
Awesome video. Love the eeriness. Wish I knew the artist at the 40 min mark.
I find it very interesting how otherwise mundane structures take on an eeriness and foreboding, even in broad daylight, when allowed to slip into a state of disrepair.
Very true. When these places were functional it certainly wouldn't be creepy at all. It's almost like the state of "post-humanity" gives it that creepy aura. Thanks for checking out the vid! -Aleks
Imagine doing paranormal investigations in these places at night spooky.
👋Late, but watching now💯👍
My father worked building the new tunnel..I have pictures of it..was interesting seeing the old tunnels
That's very cool! I can only imagine how the process of building those tunnels looks like. Definitely quite a sight to see. Thanks for watching the video! -Aleks
That was awesomely scary , i was talking to my cell , no no alex dont walk there lol it very well could be a future event , never know , thanks for this stream , be safe out there ✌🏻
❤ have you guys been to Centralia, PA? That’s worth an explore!!!!! The Anthracite coal is STILL burning below ground- that’s why the town was abandoned…
Used to live in Lancaster, PA. Now moved to the Florida tropics🌴😎
Very sobering.
You might want to get some bump cap inserts for exploring places like this. They fit inside of a baseball cap and give you a little extra protection from hitting your head on things.
All you need now when you go to these places is a Pipboy and a Vault 101 suit!😂
Yes! I kept thinking that while watching the new show while editing this video! Major wasteland vibes. -Aleks
I wonder how many people that are still living who lived here when they were small children and what memories they have of living here.
Definitely fascinating to think about. Made me wonder what they'd think about how their once home looks like now, completely abandoned and vandalized constantly. Thanks for checking it out. -Aleks
Ahhh the remnants of the Bayless pulp and paper company in Austin PA just down the stream from the Austin dam. Been past there many times.
Sad to say , the old plant needs a date with the wrecking ball. It’s a tragedy waiting to happen. I walked around the outside of it when I was a kid some 45 plus years ago. It was in terrible shape then …… but now yikes!!! The dam breaking caused enough death. No need for more

👋 Sad and these historical locations are dangerous. Why not just demolished⁉️ Is it because the cost would be too much⁉️ In any case, quite an adventure exploring, glad you all and Chuy didn't get hurt👍💯 Always great content Alek💯👍
Awesome drone footage 💯👍
It's laziness, cost and they just don't care all tied into one.
Maybe someday someone will purchase this property, bull doze everything, strip it down to the dirt and return the land to nature, or maybe build a park for the locals to enjoy.
Apocaliptic times❤
How to tell stalactite from stalagmite: Stalactite hangs "tight" to the ceiling.
Yes. That's how I remember it too, lol.
Here we go!!!!
I’m not the only who spotted the distinguishable ghost orb and not insect @ 15:33 ? Right?
Like the music
Thanks! It seemed to fit quite well with each location. -Aleks
I agree.
While an Interesting video I would hope you guys go safely exploring these ruins, with reports of large creatures running around outdoors you don't want to come face to face with one or more in such a setting.
Fear begins and ends in the mind.
Actually there are 3 tunnels, one is in use to test race cars.
I believe that one is further west in PA, but you're correct. It's now privately owned as opposed to these two tunnels. We actually have another documentary on this channel where we interviewed a witness who had some kind of possible Bigfoot like encounter while hiking through that third tunnel many years ago. Check it out here for yourself: czcams.com/video/wIVaOVagwuo/video.html

The amount of grafti almost everywhere 🕛
Unfortunately all too common in a majority of abandoned places.
❤
Like playing a Fallout game but in real time and without looting :)
What happened to Bigfoot hunts?
Like the one Aleks just did two weeks ago? Or last weeks Road to Discovery?
This show has a more open focus. He’s still doing Beyond the Trail, though.
Sounds like you captured an EVP starting at 52:01. Unless someone you were with was talking!
There were four of us on site each exploring different areas so it was just one of the other guys saying something! -Aleks
They filmed a scene from the movie the road at one of those tunnels.
Hey maybe those were PULP Vats? I mean the Tile walls would have kept the paper fibers nice right?
Could very well be. Would have been cool to have found a floor plan or map to know what different things would have served as in the paper mill. But a guess that's as good as mine! -Aleks
The whole area of the tunnels looks like a place they would have filmed the Walking Dead had it been filmed in Pennsy!
True
They have actually filmed some movies here :D
Is it an old coal town
That’s quite an echo!
Yeah I think if it were an apocalypse I’d want to be with Aleks
Let's hope it doesn't come to that anytime soon 😅 -Aleks
A great reflection of what America has become and a sad future.....
11:51 , looks like eyes watching you from the small black window hole, 3rd from the left?? Easier to see on a big screen. You can see them reflect light?
You need to come to Whitesville WV go on old mine strip Find Bigfoot
Looks like a great place to shoot a horror movie.
I'm sure it's been done before! The turnpike tunnels were the location for some of the film called "The Road", which while not necessarily being a horror film is very creepy and might as well be one. -Aleks

Wasn't one of those tunnels used in the movie "The Road" with Viggo Mortenson?
It was indeed!
I wish I would’ve known you guys were going up there, I could’ve recommended a hidden tunnel right by the Susquehanna river right outside of Lemoyne… That very few people know about. That goes back for miles and nobody knows why it’s there. There was never a mine… just a weird oddity that you can find very little history on. Other than the fact that people have gone back into it.
I also know some incredible places that you guys could visit up in northeastern Pennsylvania. That may actually be big Mecca’s for Bigfoot. The area would be a perfect habitat for them. In any case, I lived right down the road from Centralia and the old highway growing up. Lots of great hidden gems in central Pennsylvania.
Nice! Not a mine you say? Interesting...I hung out with Aleks. 🤫
@@AnthraciteHorrorStories no. Nobody could ever figure it out when we were kids. It went back for miles.. I don’t know if it was natural or dug for some other reason a long time ago… I’m not sure. Are you from PA?

This place would make a great Paintball Combat Facility Park. Just imagine the money you could make. Just saying.
That tunnel would be a gold mine for sure with paintball.
I thought you would do the coal place still burning I'm from Pa
Centralia? From what I've heard there isn't a lot to see there anymore and the "graffiti road" has been blocked. I do however have an awesome video upcoming about the abandoned coal mines in Northeast PA themselves...stay tuned for that! -Aleks

There’s 2 abandon tunnels
I think that very soon this old paper mill will be nothing more than piles of rubble.
Probably. It's barely holding on as is, I wonder how little will be left in a decade. -Aleks
WHAT'S THE POINT?
their not turbines they are air movers.
Where can I buy that hat
From the Sasquatch Outpost in Bailey, Colorado!
It's too bad that those houses couldn't be rebuilt with the right weather treated materials. Maybe a government subsidizing program put into place for seniors and low income families? Interesting that these places were abandoned because of money no dout...anytime you support special needs living our government seems to fall through!
