As an LBL native, and who's grandfather and grandmother are both buried at the Paradise Cemetery in the LBL, you nailed almost all of the information in this documentary. My grandfather grew up directly in the LBL in the 1940's and early 50's, when he was a kid and teenager. The Land Between the Lakes is also very haunted, as there are many Indian burial grounds located throughout the peninsula. As a kid myself, my grandfather would tell many terrifying experiences that him, his siblings, and mother all encountered. There was one particular incident when his mother's bed was lifted and picked up off of the floor, and hovered there for 10-15 seconds with her in it. So not only are there unknown beasts that roam the LBL and all of the rituals, but the place is also very haunted. My grandfather also told me stories of strange lights that they would randomly see in the sky over their home, and also in the woods themselves. My grandfather didn't believe in aliens, so he always thought that the strange lights were ghosts traveling throughout the area. There were also many people who lived near the LBL, along with outsiders who would travel to the LBL, and conduct ritual and sacrificial activities inside the peninsula. We were all aware of certain places not to go, along with certain times of the day/night, to avoid these ceremonies. It was well known who some of the people that came here to do some of these rituals were, too. It was usually important people with prominent roles in society that would partake in these events here, such as judges, lawyers, law enforcement officers, and even doctors. I have even heard stories of people accidentally stumbling upon one of these rituals at night in the forest. The attendees would usually be dressed in all black, with long, black robes with hoods on them. Every story I heard about someone coming across one of the rituals, the person(s) was always chased out by them, as it seemed that these people were not too happy. Finally, there are many other well known places hidden in the LBL that also has deep, dark history. One well known building that is still standing for some reason is the old St. Vincent church. This old church that has a cemetery next to the building, is known to be extremely haunted with some sort of evil entities. There have been many investigators that have came here to attempt to find out the church's dark secrets, with many having horrific experiences. Some had something physically touch them, and some have even had their lives changed forever. These are just a few more examples of what else is hidden within the forest in the Land Between the Lakes.

I also appreciate VERY MUCH the historical aspects. Many documentaries on the LBL only focus on the paranormal aspects. But i think it's important to know about the whole picture. And you folks nail it every time no matter what area your covering. Great job once again.

Thanks Tom! Glad you appreciated my attempts to highlight much more than just the paranormal stuff. When I visited there, I was struck by the other bizarre stories like the "Vampire cult" and crimes that have taken place. Everybody focuses on the Beast of LBL, and while there is a story to tell there, I felt it's only just one part of the overall story. -Aleks

@@SmallTownMonsters Well i think it's important Aleks for any researcher to know about an area's "back history" per say. Which often can tie in the paranormal aspects. In my 30+yrs being in the avian field. When i take folks out birding i give them a little history lesson about the area as well. I think it actually keeps people more interested who might not find birding all that exciting. Particularly if i'm having a "no action" type of day. It really saves my trips throwing that in there as a gap filler. And people do find the outings more enjoyable. I mean who doesn't like history right...? And your not to far from me i live on Cape Cod, MA i know the Bridgewater Triangle area well. With you being from NH.

@@tomtalker2000 Great points! I'm a history buff so I love covering that type of stuff and I couldn't agree more, it helps paint a broader picture, especially if you're dealing with a geographic area like here with the LBL. With this series I'm definitely hoping to have a broader appeal with more than just folks into Cryptid and Paranormal stuff so bringing in the history part is a must! -Aleks

Yes. He's definitely the first one to tell the encounter of THE GRINNING DOGMAN which I find extremely disturbing. Not to mention the part about something not totally human smoking a cigarette watching. I watched that story 5 times over the course of a year. I believe it was on Barton Nunnellys channel. I love that version of the story by the fire best. This interview didn't even mention the bowhunter. I have to say I don't think the squatch were there working with the Dogman. Squatches don't mix with Dogman. 1 on 1 a Squatch would tear a Dogman up. So I'd say maybe it was there to step in if needed. There's alot more going on than people realize and I could care less who believes. I am certain we don't know half of whats out there. In the woods, in the oceans, in the sky. We aren't top the food chain anywhere we go.

This seriously reminds me of Boston, OH., also known as Helltown Ohio. Everything from it being a peninsula to it being a federal park to the government having took it over for a strange reason I can't recall. It's worth looking into.
Great work- LBL is a very interesting place.

I had family who had this same thing happen to them in Collingwood Ontario. They had land on blue mountain not the side the ski resort is on but the back side. Two men came to my grandfather and told him this is what they are giving him for the land and either he takes what they are offering or they will just take the land. That land was never used for anything they merely just took it cause they could for whatever reason.

That area is creepy, but not from any paranormal reasons. It is one of those places where you don't just go wandering through, unless you are with someone from the area. There is A LOT of bad blood about that place. Many of the families down there still treat that area like they still own it. It is desolate. Weed growers. Ginseng hunters, who are very protective of their honey holes. Hogs that will eat every part of you and leave no trace. There are places like this all over the Appalachian region. I have a friend by Elm Grove that I was in the Navy with and I would go visit him in the summer for 2 weeks. He took us on quite a few trails with our atvs. Some places are open to the public, but I would recommend treading lightly. This place is no exception. Like I said. It is a creepy place, and beautiful as well. Don't go in there unless you have a firearm. Just don't flash it around and they won't know you have one. Many people there do carry. Don't go bushwhacking in there during hunting season. A good way to piss the locals off. The threats in there are not paranormal. Thanks for the video. You told a good story.

Before hearing about the high strangeness at LBL, I enjoyed memories of sleeping over at a friends cabin and learning to water ski in Lake Barkley. In 1972. So sad to see the place in such disrepair. It was a lovely area, but I didn’t know it was at the cost of generations of lost homes.

This was great, and you couldn’t have been joined by two better people. Jess and Joe are out there all the time; I’m a sub to their channel and I like their style of investigating. Martin’s encounter is terrifying, especially as a trained law enforcement officer, he’s very credible and is not going to risk his reputation on a false story. It took courage to go public with it, knowing that he was going to face ridicule; and I wish him well.
