Here is my 42 year old motor home and the result of 20 years of restoration. Because it's not a very economical vehicle to operate, we use it mainly for camping in the neighbouring Rocky Mountain Parks: Glacier/Waterton, Banff/Jasper. We don't use it for long trips or snowbirding in the winter. - Jak na to + styl
We had one back when I was young. Spent 8 years traveling all around the country each summer and weekend camping, but then we bought a farm and the fun ended there!
You have to be a retired engineer. That is amazing! Guys like you took this Great Country to the Moon.
That's a very nice job and worthy project. We still have our 1966 Travco 27 foot motorhome in storage. My dad bought it from Dick Smothers of the Smothers Brothers in 1968 and we did a 10,000 mile trip around the USA during the summer of 1969. There are a lot of memories in there. Your restoration inspired me. I think I had better get right on this project as I don't think I have another 20 years on my clock!
kimmer6 Incredible job Carl. I love your work and video.
This guys so awesome...hes like " so I made this ferrari by hand and I think it has a pleasing effect ". ..no biggy
He makes me miss my dad.
You Have done such an amazing job keeping your RV looking better than most new one's!! I prefer the older made RV's they have so much more... I really enjoyed your video, made me miss my dad so much! Stay Safe Enjoy life and God bless you forever and always..💙
Thank you for sharing your vintage RV with us.... that was wonderful to view.
Hi Carl. You're such a lovely person! Thank you for sharing your Travco here! 💜
This is the best RV I’ve seen…great job on the cabinets
Carl; The Video is first Rate. Thank you for going so slow & not jerking the camera & jumping around. I learned a lot and I am quite impressed. You can give lessons to some of those you tubers who think they are a reality star now. I really enjoyed all your expertise.
Beautiful older Motorhome man. Love all the improvements you've made especially the front seat suspension bases. I would be proud to own something like this and to use it to go camping regularly. I mainly like older motorhomes because I despise slide-outs on motorhomes. They may offer additional living space on the motorhomes interior but they are notorious for getting stuck open at the most inopportune moment like when your breaking camp and ready to hit the road to the next destination. And their not easy to work on or repair either.
Camping and RVing should be about stress management and reducing stress and anxiety. That's why I like well thought out older motorhomes such as yours. Great job fixing this old Travco up man.
You are my new favorite CZcams channel. Amazing wood work and updates to the different monitoring systems. Great thorough video.
my buddy just bought one needs work but its a gem well done sir on yours!
This is a brilliant restoration as well as great detailed video presentation. 10/10
Good job, Carl. My wife and I have a ‘73 and a ‘75 revcon. We love them both.
Thanks for posting this. Beautiful work on a wonderful RV. Well worth the effort.
Stunning condition. Brilliant build, would buy it in a heartbeat if it were for sale.
Very cool. Nice cabinetry , the indirect lighting off the cabinet-tops is a great touch. Lots of great gauges and controls up front too.
those overhead cabinets you built were super cool! reminds me of an old fashioned plane
i have an older holiday rambler in Europe wich i renovate step by step ..i have to say Carl .. you did a fantastic job ..this motorhome looks awesome and a lot of ur personal engineering ideas are very practical indeed
congratulations on this project ..amazing work indeed

Excellent work Carl. Smartly laud out and very clean looking. Watched a lot of your vids and I give you a lot if credit! You've got a brilliant mind and many skills! You really seem to enjoy your life! Your wife must be very proud of you! Keep up the great work!
Know you are so proud of your RV great job.
Thank-you for the tour. Excellent job.
Those things are timeless. I especially like the two piece fiberglass design you dont have cheap sylicone gluing panels together like the new stuff. I would like to some day put a Dana King Pin front axle and a cummins 5.9 in one of those. Enjoyed the video thank you.
Thank you for sharing your lovely motor home with me. It's obvious that you took a lot of pride in all your upgrades!
Beautiful Motor-Home...Nice restoration...
Looks like the inside of a freight train... Im sure you would be able to move a train with ease. Thats awesome!!!!!Great Job!!!
What a great job in this restoration! You sure show pride in your workmanship and satisfaction in its completion!
Thanks for the tour, you've done a beautiful job.
Bravo! What an awesome Mobile Home!

Love the motorhome. You have done an awesome job.
great detailed video of your super vintage motorhome
This guy is Genius.
Thanks for taking your time and making this amazing video! Very informative
Carl I can see the love and exultance time you have spent on her she's a beautiful lady. I love the body style and the work that you have mastered . I was born in 1952 and I stared driving my grandfathers old model A and completely restored her and I spent years on her taking lead filler out of her dings and working the metal back to the factory shape she started with. I was eleven years old and finished her in my twelfth year and donated her to the ford museum with ever detail she came from factory with. A lot of phone calls and traveling to get parts from all around Texas and Oklahoma and crying like a baby when I left her in the museum. She's the best of the show and she's smiling so much with her black coat I spent with jet black spray cans. Each pay day buying three cans of jet black paint. One square foot at a time three square foot every week until she had four completed paint layers. Some the weather would blister her paint and would have to take it off and start back when the weather wasn't so humid till I learned spray paint is not echo friendly on humid days. But I see your love in your motor home and I fell in love with her as you did being the superb mechanic you are. Thank you for sharing your love with us. God's Blessings to you and your family. SEMPER FIDELIS
Carl, that is very, very nice. Thank you for showing it off for us.
Very well done! Thank you for sharing so much detail.
Nice of you to share your MH with the rest of the interested world.
This was made when gasoline was $ .50 - .75 cents per gallon. Those were the good old days !
absolutly love this van and your video
Great Job!!!
I find this way more attractive than the Winnebago Brave of the same vintage.
That is so beautiful. You did a great job.
Fantastic job, what an inspiration. Thanks !
Very nice rig Mr. Holmgren. I love seeing older motorhomes restored. Very thorough tour. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely looking Travco. :)
Impressive job, Carl! Hope you are still enjoying camping in your re-designed Travco.
I like the couch just behind the driver's seat. I don't know how safe it is to do, but I can see someone sleeping on it while the driver is driving.
That's a great lookin machine! I do miss those parts of the world. Need to get up there hopefully next year. Cheers!
Mr. Holmgren. You should be blessed for the wonderful restoration and love
that
you have put into as you say your hobby. I wish to send you my heartful tthanks
for this presentation.
Thanks for sharing, Carl! Nice work :)
Thanks a lot for sharing, Carl!
Excellent work!
I love it. Obviously much quality work in it, and with all the switches and knobs it's like Dr. Brown's RV!
Thank you for sharing, I've never seen a Travco inside. It was a special treat and so very well maintained! Beautiful!
Awesome attention to detail. Engineered like an aircraft. I would hate to see how much a new rv would cost that was this well thought out.
Cool Motor Home.
Great rig Carl!! You are a very talented man for sure. It's nice to see the ol vintage motor homes going down the road. This was the best vid i watched on you tube all night! Thank you.
GOOD JOB!!! 🎖🚐🎖

A very fun video to watch. Love the woodwork you did on the inside. True labor of love. If you are still working on it, hope you will do another update. You've taken very good care of your RV. Love to see the older ones refurbished. Thanks for taking the time to share it on line.
Amazing! Absolutely amazing, and a gorgeous restoration. Thank you for the tour. This was so much fun to watch!

Robert Andersen
Thanks for sharing .It looks comfy :)
Great job!
Fantastic job Carl, your ability to stick at a project puts me to shame! I enjoyed seeing a motor home from that period, not all computers and micro chips. Well done.
That is an awesome motor home! I love all the work you put into it!
Incredible work. Reminds me of the "hobby" I had with my old motorhome!
Wow! Fantastic work of art you have created. You have thought of everything. You even match the fridge door to your interior. I love purple heart, this was the perfect accent throughout. I could never own something like this as I would need to get a degree first in order to operate it correctly. Twenty years..that is amazing. Thank you for sharing this beautiful gem.
Great cabinets
Awesome work sir, I love the way you
found an older motorhome and made
it yours and upgraded everything
including the front and rear drive
train components, awesome work.
Great presentation of your beautiful motorhome! Its obvious that you take pride in the things you own! Love it!
Very impressive motorhome! You obviously are a good craftsman! :-)
Very nice unit. you should be very proud of it.
Most interesting!
Nice Work.
You've made it quite cozy, and livable.
Pretty restoration! Those are the wrong coach batteries, because they are paralleled. The weaker one will discharge the stronger one. The cure is series-connected 6-volt batteries. GC1 golf car batteries work great, designed to be nearly fully-discharged without damage.
Thanks for looking at my video. You've got me thinking about the coach batteries, the motor home originally had a large 4D diesel truck battery and no chassis battery. I added a separate chassis battery and installed two deep discharge 12V coach batteries, they are different colors but I think they came out of the same factory; one is an Interstate and one is from Costco but they have identical specs and identically shaped cases. They were much cheaper than golf cart batteries. Any time I've disconnected and checked the voltage of the batteries, they are within 0.1 volts of each other. I have some experience with large diesel engines - it's common to use two large identical 12 volt batteries connected in parallel for electrical systems and cranking. Thanks for your comment. //Carl
Very nice! Good craftsmanship on those cabinets!
A very lovely video. You have such a kind voice and you are so knowledgeable about every component etc. You are a great teacher my friend :)
Absolutely fantastic tour! It may be one of the best I've ever seen and... your job on this rig is so good! Great engineering.
wow very nice, beautiful interior
Very nice Carl & I Love your wood work!
Great to see your work Carl & I hope that the roads of your future travels give you the same joy as the build & modifications you have made.
I really enjoyed your video. I've been looking into possibly purchasing a Travco. I am very impressed with your modifications and how well thought out everything was. Super nice job!
Really a genial and very large project done there! Incredible! Thanks!
