Awesome looking Travco! This is my idea of what a motorhome should be. It's large enough on the one hand for a small family to travel the country in, but it's also small enough that anyone with a driver's license can drive it without feeling intimidated, like you would with much larger motorhomes. It also doesn't look like the cargo box the Travco came in. 🙂

Beautiful van!!! Loved the vintage lamps and trim on walls, and riveted exterior. With the floor, use an angle grinder stripping wheel, plus flame torch to burn that crap off. I used a torch to scorch fuzzy ends of carpeting I could not cut or twist off from under cabinets. The flame melted carpeting into a nice clean edge. Flame will soften glue so it can be scraped off with sharp scrapers. Best scraper I have found is a $1.50 small angled scraper with single edge blade from Harbor Freight. 10 pack blade refills are $0.99. Everyone should have this scraper. After you use the flame, glue becomes brittle and an angle grinder (use 5" Bosch with paddle switch, or an air tool), with a wire brush, then a zircon flap disk will just cut through this crap and give you a smooth surface. Optionally, WITH VERY GOOD VENTILATION, use Jasco Paint Stripper (red and gold can) to strip. Make sure your stripper has Methylene Chloride and open ALL THE WINDOWS AND DON'T LET KIDS NEAR THIS STUFF. Use Neoprene gloves and eye protection.

Those rims aren't bad if you know what your doing. I have them on one of my motorhomes, and I'll admit I am a little bit scared to work on them.

Sweet looking Travco Motorhome. Do you still have the Travco? If you do, have you done anything since this video was posted? 🙂

Those are not split type rims. they are one piece steel rim. split rims where not used till 1970.

These are actually split ring rims, not regular split rims, I was definitely wrong when I shot this video. We just had our tires replaced last week so I can verify that this is true. :)

It looks like everything has been butchered on that motorhome. It will be a good fixer upper if you're good with wiring, body work, etc.

+Dale Truman I'm the husband here and I can say that my wife put a TON of work into this. She helped with gutting the interior, she did all the finishing on the wood, she spent countless hours sanding the exterior both by hand and with power tools, she installed the tile back splash. She did all this while working a full time job. It is a team effort here despite what you may think you know about a "modern-day housewife" of which she is not.
