My "new" 1973 Evinrude Mate 2 HP outboard motor!

  • I just picked this little outboard motor up today. It hadn't been run for at least a year, so I changed the fuel line, cleaned the jets, the carb bowl, the tank, and the plug and this is how it runs!

    Hello, could you tell me what the ideal points for regulation of speed? I disassembled the carburetor and lost these points. Thanks.

      what points are you refering I got one of those motors 2; bottom one set 1/2 and top 1 1/4 on mine

      Your question doesn't make sense, points are the device for timing a spark, nothing to do with carburation.

      ​@@richardd3663 English is probably not his first language. I believe he means the location to set the needle. I believe the first person that answered is correct. Screw the first needle (idle speed) all the way in, then back 1 and 1/4 turn. Adjust from there. The high speed is more tricky. On my motor, it's one full turn back, then adjust from there.
