When I get calls I always say correct never yes, if you want to know if its a pre recorded call, ask them off the wall questions like what color is the sky, what did the last steak they ate taste like. these kinds of questions can't be answered by a machine, & it will repeat itself with the same scrip so you can just hang up, or it will hang up automatically. If its a person & they threaten me with arrest for some crime they say I committed I just tell them "Bring it"

I've had threatening calls before. At first I was frightened. Then I ignored them. Now I won't even pick my phone up unless I know who is calling. I've also gotten mail which looked at first like it was from the government asking me to buy into insurance scheme. I throw this all away now. Particularly once you retire you get this garbage.
When I receive a call from an unknown number, I will just let it ring until it is diverted to the voice mail or until the other person hang up. I have NEVER return any call from an unknown person. So far, nothing has happened at all.
One time my 14 year old brother got a scam about how he won a contest for free McDonald’s gift card so he asked for toysRus. And then they said they didn’t have that so he went on a rampage for two minutes about how he wanted toysRus and then he hung up😂...have a good day😁.

He listened and answered a few questions before he told them that he would call me to the phone to speak to them as it was my computer. I said hello having no idea what had been said, then the accented voice started with identifying himself as MICROSOFT and that my computer was hacked. At the time, I had no idea these things were going on but, I managed to say that my computer was just fine and hung up. A few weeks ago, fed up with the all day long telemarketing calls, I answered with " CITY MORGUE...CAN I HELP YOU?" For two days only my daughter called! Lol
What if it was someone trying to reach you like a family member or a friend or a company trying to reach you (bank, car insurance, police Department, etc)? Most wont leave a voicemail because it could be classified information they dont want other people knowing except you. "If it's important, they'll leave a message" and 9/10, most people have voicemails that arent set up or are full
I ignore all of the unknown numbers that I receive, unless I am expecting a call from a doctor or something. Even then I don’t always answer... if it’s someone who needs to get a hold of me they can leave a voicemail and I will call back if it’s not a scammer

This happened to me once but i didn't pick up. I never pick up calls from unknown numbers or my own. I knew instantly it was a scam.

Several years ago, my hubby answered the phone to a computer scam. He listened and answered a few questions before he told them that he would call me to the phone to speak to them as it was my computer. I said hello having no idea what had been said, then the accented voice started with identifying himself as MICROSOFT and that my computer was hacked. At the time, I had no idea these things were going on but, I managed to say that my computer was just fine and hung up. A few weeks ago, fed up with the all day long telemarketing calls, I answered with " CITY MORGUE...CAN I HELP YOU?" For two days only my daughter called! Lol
What if it was someone trying to reach you like a family member or a friend or a company trying to reach you (bank, car insurance, police Department, etc)? Most wont leave a voicemail because it could be classified information they dont want other people knowing except you. "If it's important, they'll leave a message" and 9/10, most people have voicemails that arent set up or are full
I once got a call from an unknown number, I declined it. Turns out it was only calling me to give me my tik tok verification code.😂🤣
A girl called me and said "Hello! I cannot hear you. Can you hear me? " AND I SAID "NO, I CANNOT HEAR YOU HAHA LOL" and cutted the phone

I ignore all of the unknown numbers that I receive, unless I am expecting a call from a doctor or something. Even then I don’t always answer... if it’s someone who needs to get a hold of me they can leave a voicemail and I will call back if it’s not a scammer

You are obviously young and have no idea about life. That number can be some client that was given your number br your college or if you are selling things through advertisments etc. It can be some who could potentially buy what you are trying to sell.
