- Ron Swanson really, truly hates healthy food. Whether it's salad (the food my food eats) or vegan bacon, it's here. Did we miss your favourite moment? Let us know in the comments!
From "Parks & Recreation": a mockumentary series following Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), the deputy director of the Parks and Recreation department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. Leslie is determined to improve her small world through her job, despite resistance from Parks Director Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), an anti-government Libertarian. The series also stars Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari and Retta.

"There's only one thing I hate more than lying... skim milk. Which is water that's lying about being milk." Comedy legend!
I knew i wasnt crazy!! I always have hated skim milk since i was a kid
He's technically right. Milk requires fat for nutrition. Milk without fat is just white water.
My kids used to call it “water-milk”
@@AnAmericanMusician Yep, there are a lot of compounds that are fat-soluble in milk. Remove the fat, remove that with it.
its always funny 😂😂
“I have an uncle who does yoga” killed me 😂
Allergies: Cowardice and weak willed men ... and hazelnuts!
The line, “Do you exercise? Yes, lovemaking and woodworking.” Plus the line about his uncle is SO funny!
and that's Mental illness 😅🤣
Just great😅😂
Yoga really is a scam
ron pulling the picture of the girls out while he eats the banana is quite possibly the purest thing i’ve ever seen
He's trying my at least, baby steps
"Come on, Ron. Do it for the girls."
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ GFY
At least he ate it. With a burger
Honestly a banana on a bacon cheeseburger sounds _really_ good right now!
"Veganism is the sad result of a morally corrupt mind, reconsider your life." That had me laughing pretty good
And its 100% accurate
Are their morals corrupted or is their mind corrupted BY morality?

"There's been a mistake you've accidentally given me the food that my food eats" "Is a gerbil marrying a rabbit?" Those are some of Ron's best lines in the whole series
I always use the first line whenever someone tries to feed me a salad or salad-like meal.
“I’d work all night, if it meant nothing got done.”
well, maybe.., she might be a furro...
y'all are pretentious. i love salad. it's supposed to be an appetizer
It’s F*%*ing milk
The shot of Ron pacing after gagging on the Banana never fails to break me
Same!!!
Well that aged poorly. :D :D :D
@Uros Marjanovic no kidding. Last of us ruined everything.
@@rite2beararms That's wokeism for you.
@@urosmarjanovic663 brokeback Swanson
"Do you want some salad, Ron?"
"Since I'm not a rabbit, no thank you" kills me everytime.
Undereated line
And yet you misquoted it loool
“ do you have any history of family illness? I have an uncle who does yoga” I fucking love Ron lol
I imagined a situation where Leslie invites Ron to eat at a brazilian restaurant, and he thinks they only serve fruit there. He reluctantly goes, but when gets there it's an all-you-can-eat brazilian steakhouse, with waiters walking around with skewers that ressemble swords with big cuts of meat directly from the roasting pit. He thinks that's paradise and he also eats Feijoada for the first time and also falls in love with it, because it's loaded with sausage and all kinds of pork.
I'm surprised that never happened. It would have been perfect.
That would’ve been an excellent scene
That’s…..beautiful 🥹
"Sir, salad is traditionally the first course at a wedding."
Ron--"Is a gerbil marrying a rabbit?"

I've seen the portobello mushroom scene so many times. And chris' face is still gold. He is so passionate about other peoples feeling, and everything yet when it comes to food, you can see he is the same as everyone else
That can't actually feel satisfying or filling.
@@tprime2702 They're actually pretty good if marinated and not over cooked.
@Sam Larson
I'm going to try this now, Sam. But, if I'm not 1000% satisfied, I'm going to eat red meat until I have a coronary.
@@tprime2702 LOL
@@samueljlarson I'll eat them - on a burger. But it's going to be in addition to the meat, not as a substitute.
The way Andy inhales the burger always makes me hungry
He's like a duck. Swallowing whole pieces by throwing his neck back
And how Chris admits that the hamburger is better right away is hilarious. Looks like he just met god.
Now I want a burger...
Chris Pratt is at his core a fat guy. He works out now to play different roles, but that’s not who he really is.
The look of delight on Ron's face at 6:34 followed by "Shhhh! Look at that thing." gets me every time!
Nature is amazing
Love how proud Ron is of April after she throws the vegan bacon in the trash.😊
Also, smart of Ron to just dump the salad back into the bowl.😉
People who don't eat leafy green vegetables and eat a lot of meat are much more likely to get chronic, deadly diseases, and die earlier. Not so smart in the long run.
Ron Swanson rejecting unhealthy food and embracing the nourishing meat that has allowed us to thrive for millions of years

There’s nothing wrong with veg. Apart from the taste obviously
@@TheDaverobinsonsome people can tolerate most vegetables, but some people’s health improves when they eliminate them and eat only meat.

"Veganism is the sad result of a morally corrupt mind" 😂😂 "What's going to happen a Vegan is going to physically attack me? They are basically made of glass" My sides hurt ROFL.
The only thing more true that Ron has said is: "dont trust big banks, or small banks for that matter... Banks are ponzi schemes run by morons"
And then the cut to Chris is funny
Honestly, I agree with him. We're omnivores. Want to be vegan ? Experiment on yourself.
The "one shelf" always puts me in tears. It's...so unexpected and perfect.
The fact that his levels are healthy makes sense. The man basically eats keto except for burger bread
“You’ve accidentally given me the food that my food eats.”
😂😂😂😂
Ron eating steak and smiling for the camera is so relatable
The twitch in Aprils lip from holding back laughing as Ron throws the first piece into the trash always gets me
I actually made that turkey burger Chris described and compared it with a normal plain hamburger and they were evenly matched - but considering the amount of effort and time (and money) spent on the turkey burger, the win kinda leans toward the hamburger. I tried the same test against a quality meat hamburger with classic add-ons and there was no competition at all 😂🍔
You are my hero
I eat ground turkey daily with veggies thrown in and make a stir fry. Every once and a while I substitute for beef, regardless of it being lean, wagyu, cheap, whatever; and it beats turkey out of the water and is like a gift from god.
@megadrain lol it’s blows out of the water not beats you silly tiny little man 👨
including the black truffle aioli and the papaya chutney?
Stop being so pretentious Kyle
Props to Chris he openly admired that Ron 's burger is way better, and he did it without hesitation.
He also said that the cow burgers are terrible for you right after that.
@someguy2135 and yet he had to conced victory to Ron because they made everyone happy
Potatoes have more potassium than bananas, so all Ron has to do is eat more baked potatoes and/or fries with his steak and burgers.
Since he loves things wrapped on bacon, that can also be an option to give them flavor
I had no idea! The doctor said my potassium is too high and I couldn’t figure out why as I haven’t been eating many bananas lately. Probably my potato intake 😅
Meat is high in potassium, and is more percent bioavailable. He just needs to eat more meat, and drink less liquor.
If your burger needs 20 things on it to disguise the fact that it’s not Beef, you know you don’t have a good burger.
I eat my burgers plain because too many extras take away from the Star of the show: the beef. The most I will add to a burger is cheese and bacon.
The growl after being told to eat the banana always gets me 😂
I love this man! I watched earlier a clip of Nick Offerman going thru all the rolls he played. I didn’t expect any to be better than Ron but some were very very good. Nick is a national treasure and should be treated as such!!!❤❤❤
The way Chris just stares at Ron for a good two seconds after he takes the burger off the plate🤣
"clear alcohol's are for rich women on diets" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I could watch a 10 hour video of Ron trying and failing to eat a banana

@@Milkra 😂 beat me to it!
The face he makes when he eats the burger with the banana inside is great.
Look man, I'm a dietitian. Ron Swanson is my favorite character because of the way he eats and his conviction to his principles. I love him. Best character ever made.
You don't tell people to eat like Ron Swanson, though, right? You don't either, right?
@@Joe-tw6ik The ideal diet is a fully plant based diet centered around whole foods. The healthiest, longest living people eat that way. Blue Zone populations are the populations that National Geographic found to have the largest number of centenarians, and who had the most vitality in later years. The Blue Zone with the longest lifespan are the Seventh Day Adventists of Loma Linda California. They are taught that their bodies are temples and are encouraged to not eat meat. The vegans among them are the healthiest. They have the lowest chance among the SDA's of ischemic heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, and multiple types of cancer. Only the vegan dietary group among them had an average BMI in the recommended range.
"SEE THAT YOUR DIET IS 95-100 PERCENT PLANT-BASED
People in the blue zones eat an impressive variety of garden vegetables when they are in season, and then they pickle or dry the surplus to enjoy during the off-season. The best-of-the-best longevity foods are leafy greens such as spinach, kale, beet and turnip tops, chard, and collards. Combined with seasonal fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and beans dominate blue zones meals all year long.
People in four of the five blue zones consume meat, but they do so sparingly, using it as a celebratory food, a small side, or a way to flavor dishes.
*Research suggests that 30-year-old vegetarian Adventists will likely outlive their meat-eating counterparts by as many as eight years.*

@@Joe-tw6ik "Vegans have substantially lower death rates than meat-eaters, a major study has found.
The study has been published in the JAMA Internal Medicine Journal and reignites debate around increasingly popular vegan diets amid conflicting medical advice and evidence over their impact of proponents' health.
The research was undertaken by scientists at Massachusetts General Hospital, who monitored health and diet records of more than 130,000 people over the course of thirty years."-Article from The Independent
Title-"Vegans live longer than those who eat meat or eggs, research finds
Every three per cent increase in calories from plant protein was found to reduce risk of death by 10 per cent

@@Joe-tw6ik The bottom line is that a fully plant based diet, if done properly, is not only sustainable, it has health benefits over a diet which includes animal products. The largest organization of nutrition professionals officially declared- "It is the position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that appropriately planned vegetarian, including vegan, diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits for the prevention and treatment of certain diseases.
These diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, older adulthood, and for athletes. Plant-based diets are more environmentally sustainable than diets rich in animal products because they use fewer natural resources and are associated with much less environmental damage.
*Vegetarians and vegans are at reduced risk of certain health conditions, including ischemic heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, certain types of cancer, and obesity.*
Low intake of saturated fat and high intakes of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, soy products, nuts, and seeds (all rich in fiber and phytochemicals) are characteristics of vegetarian and vegan diets that produce lower total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels and better serum glucose control. These factors contribute to reduction of chronic disease. Vegans need reliable sources of vitamin B-12, such as fortified foods or supplements." -Full abstract from the position paper as found on PubMed from the National Institutes of Health
@@Joe-tw6ik Being less obese does make vegans healthier. Are you claiming that obesity has no health drawbacks? In the Adventist Health Studies, the only dietary group with an average BMI in the recommended range was the vegan group. This was among a large sample size of relatively healthy people in North America. Evidence on request.

Ron trying to eat that banana and enjoying it in a cheeseburger was beyond hilarious.
5:25 purring like a cat 🐈
Gotta love Chris’s “Organically Grow!” Which is all food last time I checked.
... Yes. -BUT! "organic" is an easy to understand marketing word for the process of growing produce with less/no pesticides and herbicides. And in the case of "organic" meats, typically using more humane practices (grass grazed cattle, free range chickens, etc) and no added growth hormones and such.
It is, admittedly, an imperfect word to describe this, but anything more accurate would be more wordy, less concise... it also has the added benefit of being able charge extra (on top of the increased costs to produce) because people will falsely equate "organic" with "better", and anything not labelled "organic" as "bad" or at least; worse.
And that's not even getting into the whole GMO debacle. Because I doubt there are many foods we eat that aren't. Only difference is the modern process of speeding up the process by editing the genes in a lab.
If you look at the U.S food industry...... you'd be horrified how little of our food is actually organic
Actually it's not, unfortunately.
I love the struggle he goes through eating the banana, I can totally relate
But what did Ron drink before he was allowed drink and his parents never fed him healthy stuff or where health freaks that made him hate healthy food
“Are there any mental illness in your family history”
Him:”I have an uncle that does yoga”
Fair enough😂
"You've accidentally given me the food that my food eats" lmao
I just realized how long it's been since this show was on the air. I loved Ron. I learned how much Nick ended up in the character of Ron. I think I later learned a lot more of who Nick is. I used to think Ron was just an exaggerated version of Nick. Seeing this video years later, I don't know how I could have ever thought that. As much as I love Ron, all of his best qualities are really just hints of Nick.
Nurse: Any family history of mental illness?
Ron: "I have an uncle who does Yoga" - It cracks me up every time
I love it! I need this show back!
I actually completely agree with him on this most of those “healthy foods” aren’t foods they’re just barely digestible flavourless slop shaped and coloured vaguely to look like food.
Turns out red meat itself isn’t bad for you. The read meat studies that said it was bad for you could not be replicated, another study came around that said it had no noticeable effect on your health COULD be replicated and therefore was valid.
The excess cholesterol was due to other things they ate and were in the burgers and such they were eating and not the meat itself
The more you know!
And I bet 50 bucks the unhealthy stuff the cows were eating was corn based feed with growth hormones stuffed in mass slaughter houses.
"Do you have any history of mental illness in your family?" "I have an uncle who does yoga" 🤣
The banana scene will always be the funniest thing I’ve ever seen
