I had this played at my daddy's funeral. He was a real warrior of God while on the earth. I know he's where he wants to be now.
I love this song! We played it at my Dad's memorial. My sister died years before him. After the service, a friend asked what my sister looked like. He saw her and Dad dancing during this song.
This song is very important to me. My dad passed away in March 2013 and my husband and I went to Minnesota for his funeral. We brought our St Bernard, Moose, with us and my husband walked him over to the church on Sunday morning, the day we were leaving. We went to services with my family that morning. I drove our car over. I got in the car, got all set and put my seat belt on. I then turned on the radio and this song was just starting. I thought then and think still that it was my dad's way of letting us know he was ok
I picked it to played at my mother's funeral !!! Loved it since the first time I heard it !!!
One of the most beautiful songs ever written, only because of the beautiful promise that can belong to each of us!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼♥️♥️♥️
I'm wanting this played when I pass on. All 3 of my children know this.
And they're going to sprinkle my ashes in a nearby creek so I'll help plants grow along their journey.
This is on my funeral playlist too
Before my husband passed from cancer, this was the song he left me to remember for comfort, I had not listened to it until now, after 38yrs of marriage and the hell of cancer I couldn’t find my way to hearing it. and through the tears I thank you for finally allowing me to understand his meaning for me to listen with my heart
I am such a crier....darn. Love this song.
There are regular people in the video and also several famous loved ones, including Michael Reagan holding President Reagan's photo, John Carter Cash holding June and Johnny's photo (he's their only child together) plus of course Brad's grandpa and I believe that was Dolly's father's photo. Their voices blend beautifully.
And also Dale Earnhardt‘s wife was holding his photo. ❤️
Also ,the olympic skater Mark Hamell with a picture of his mother.
Dolly is holding her Grandpa Jake Owens photograph.
Walk with granddaddy and tell him how I’ve missed him and then hug his neck makes me cry everytime… he died on my 6th birthday and miss him still now for 40 years
I forgot how very beautiful this song was and now I'm a blubbering mess. But it is such a fantastic song with these two wonderful country singers. I've loved them both for so long. Thanks for a great reaction and a memory. Miss all the people I've lost but I'm certain we will see each other again. Looking forward to that day. 🥀🥲
Rhis song helped me.so.much when I lost my father. A friend played it for me while my dad was sick. Been one of.my favs ever since
Brad can make you laugh (Ticks) and make you cry. He and Dolly sound so good together!
Another beautiful Dolly Parton duet is "Rockin' Years" with Ricky Van Shelton-he is one of my all-time fave singers. Check out: Statue of a Fool, Somebody Lied, or, I Meant Every Word He Said.
Great reaction, loved it❤❤
Another great reaction. The gentleman at the end was Brad's grandfather
Dolly seems to be like a vocal chameleon - her voice enhances everyone she duets with, e.g. Julio Iglesias (When you tell me that you love me), Barry Gibb (Words), Zach Williams (There was Jesus).
Plus God Only Knows with King and Country
Yes! Zach Williams " There was Jesus" gets played often on my playlist. Beautiful song and performance by Dolly and Zach!!
Their voices are perfect together. ❤️
Dolly Parton has written so many songs that I wondered if she wrote "When I Get Where I'm Going" but I learned that it was written by George Teren and Rivers Rutherford. I have never heard of either of them but i think they deserve a mention for having written such a beautiful and heartwarming song. Maybe the greatest compliment they can get though is that Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton recorded their song.
I love this song! It's been on my Top 100 list for over 15 years.
I love this song. It is so beautiful. I've sung this song at two funerals..
Another nostalgic listen for me. I've heard this song a hundred times and cried every time. Thanks
In 2006, I woke up in excruciating pain and went to the er. The tv was playing the country music video channel and they played this and vince gills “go rest high on that mountain” back to back. I was worried it was a sign but obviously I’m still here lol. Justin moores “bait a hook” for something fun
Just when I think I can't possibly choose a favorite song of all time I hear this one. I love this song so much and it feels so good and comforting to my soul.
This is one of those songs that just makes me cry. It is just an emotional song.
I always cry when I listen to this.
This such a sad video, but beautiful song! I almost cried when I saw Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash!! I did cry when Brad's grandfather came on at the end!! I was already with the anniversary of my grandparents yesterday, which they are both have passed away a few years back. Thank you for doing this reaction!! 🥰🥰
As soon as I saw the title I knew it would get you Craig. Just a beautiful duet with Brad and Dolly.
We can all hope we meet up with everyone we've lost someday. What a beautiful thought. 😍
Loved your reaction. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Craig, I totally agree with everything you said. Dolly makes everything so much better. Brad is a great artist too. I suggest the next reaction be from him, "He Didn't Have to Be" tugs at your heart strings for sure. Keep on a keeping my British brother ❤
Yes, that song gets me every time. Love it!
Dolly sounds so great not only because she is a great singer with an amazing voice but the power of her faith comes through so strongly there is not any doubt she believes what she is singing. Brad Paisley is also a man who conveys conviction in his singing.
I love this song and I lost my mother about 4 years ago and I know I'll see her again this song every time when I hear it makes me well up and cry thanks for that lol can you do me a favor on your next video or I'm not trying to act like I'm special because I'm not but can you do picking wildflowers and that's all you would have to type in it's more of an upbeat song I would really appreciate it
We played this at my father's funeral, gets me every time I hear it.
It's hard not to cry listening to this 😢
There is a great rabbit hole for you to chase. Dolly Parton duets with all the different artists. She does a great job with anyone.
One of my favorites and I always think of my parents each time I hear it
When my brother passed away we made a CD of comfort songs for all the siblings. This is one of the songs.
Great song. LOVE BRAD AND DOLLY..THOUGHT PROVOCATIVE SONG
I was already crying, after seeing you hear Carrie sing How Great Thou Art.
Ckd your page and clicked on this. Now I know I'm about to cry some more.
We played this at my Dad's funeral - chokes me up everytime. Thanks for doing this one.
I love this song! So beautiful.
Love this song. Happy/sad❤ . Cant go wrong with anything Brad sings. AND Dolly awesome as always
Well yet another one I want played when I pass. Beautiful and so comforting to those left behind.❤❤
I get chills every time I hear it. I'd like this played at my funeral. I played it at my mom's. 💗
That's Brad's grandpa at the end.
This was played at my grandmas funeral. Can’t listen without tearing up.
Also, RIP Olivia Newton-John.
My husband died a week ago today and and he got to meet again with his father who died 11 days after he returned from the Marine Corps. My husband was only 60 years old but provided for me the rest of my life. This song meant the world to me so thank you.
One of the best songs ever!! Thanks for reacting to it... ❤
Such a beautiful song, great reaction.
Wow! Thanks Craig for reacting to this amazing song and video! Got the ugly cry going on! Love from South Georgia USA ♥️😭🍟
Another great song with two great singers, or should I say the legend Dolly Parton
Im crying Balling my eyes out right now , I love this song My papa passed away 11 years ago and its still so hard I miss him so much , I want to hug him so bad :(
I don't want my family to face the pain when I'm gone. I know that pain. But I miss all the people I've lost.
A really beautiful song.
Letter to me(Live) is a great Paisley song
I loved your reaction to this great duet. Thanks so much.
I can't imagine either one of these artists could possibly do a bad song/performance.
I've never seen the video before though.
There's a long list of people that I will look for, my mom being at the top of the list.
Dolly's lack of ego is evident, she didn't feel the need to be in the video except for a brief moment.
I believe that Teresa Earnhardt in the video, Dale Earnhardt's widow. (NASCAR driver)
Also Scott Hamilton ( Olympic figure skater) with a picture of his Mom
Thank you for such a beautiful reaction! I agree with you that their voices really compliment each other.
Another song you might enjoy is "When I'm Gone" by Joey and Rory! Joey wrote the song for Rory before she passed away. It is beautiful! I love watching your channel. Have a great day!!
Recommendation: This Old Guitar by John Denver
I agree - Denver's song is a recollection of his love of music, attributed to the guitar his grandmother gave him. I would ALSO recommend Linda Ronstadt and "Goodbye, My Friend."
Brad has so many hits, as does Dolly
Not really a hard core country song but being British, you would like the song "Sink the Bismark". It's about the heroic efforts of the British navy during WW II.
This song is super beautiful and emotional 😢
Beautiful song. great message. Can't go wrong with Brad & Dolly.
A good country song is "Amanda" with Waylon Jennings (on the album "Greatest Hits)... Another classic singer, John Conlee, his awesome song "Rose Colored Glasses"...I have fond memories of this song dancing with an army man in a country western bar....I don't think you'll be disappointed....very romantic song.
this and a few other songs have helps me deal with alot of deaths in my family my earliest was my little brother who past away when I was 2 years and 4 months old he was born with a rare heart condition and back in 97 they didn't have the technology they have now to fix it, we where able to get one picture of him before he passed away in his sleep a few day later but I try to visit him every year on his birthday and bring him flower and the florists who catered the flowers for his funeral had been doing his flowers for his birthday every year since 🥰
When my first older brother passed away after illness, we played this at his memorial.
Brad-He didn’t have to be. Dolly duet with Ricky Van Shelton Rocking Years.
What a beautiful song.
This is beautiful! I first heard it at a dear friends funeral, it was perfect and so comforting!❤️
Love this song it is beautiful
Lovely and kind reaction!! 💕
Wow!! That was beyond beautiful Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention! Love your reactions!
What a heartfelt song and reaction
This song did my heart good.
Absolutely fantastic!! Joyce
I haven't seen that video in so long and I've lost so many people since then. Now I'm a blubbering mess.
The anniversary of my fathers death is coming up 😢 the emotions of that and hearing this song is making ke emotional.
One of my favorites!
Once again yet another beautiful reaction from my favourite CZcamsr ❤️
Please consider reacting to Zach Williams and Dolly Parton - There Was Jesus - another beautiful song about getting through hard times.
Angelic😲🙏🏻❣️...........that was my first thought the moment Ms. Dolly entered this incredible piece of musical talent 🤩. Like you Craig, this was my first time listening to this song, but you better believe it won't be the last, wow, huh😲❓. I mean good night, geesh, that song, music & lyrics, went straight thru my soul to places I've never thought I had, and of course before the second verse even started, yep, I too, probably like many others, was a complete mess😔😢😭❣️. And of course as the song went on, so did I 😢. But like ya said Craig it's a strange mix of emotions this song stirs up. But then, right from the beginning the lyrics seem to just lift you up🙏🏻❣️. They not only lift you up, they continue to hold you that way, and THAT is just pure and simple, sweet love from a Daddy to His children, and it shows too that This Daddy will ALWAYS keep His promises to His kids🙏🏻👑💞❣️. Thanks bunches you dear , sweet man, to bring me along with you as we both discover this beautifully awesome little piece of Heaven that has drifted down and gratefully for us, it landed on them both💞👑🙏🏻❣️.
😢😢😢😢😢 Can't wait to see my Dad again.
You have such a great heart
I very seldom listen to this song because my dad was a Christian and went to be with Jesus. And this song makes me tear up real bad because I still miss him these 26 years. I'm a Christian and know I will see him again one day.
If you haven't heard it yet you should really listen to dolly Parton and Kenny Rodgers final song together "old friends"!!!!!! Especially meaningful now that he has passed away!!!
I needed this tonight. 💖
❤❤❤❤❤
Crikey, I'm a blubbering mess. Lost my husband 2 years ago. I'm no church goer but I do have faith we'll be together in the next life. 💕💕
