This was the exact song I needed to hear reacted to tonight. I'm a nurse and just tonight had a patient pass away that I've been taking care of since 2019. I loved that woman as much as my own family and my heart breaks knowing she's not with us anymore. But I know she's in a better place now with no more pain and fear and I know that some day I'll see her there again.

That was wonderful. Like I said in my DM, it gets a little easier with time. There’s always a hole like someone is missing, but this song put a lot in perspective for me. It helped me keep myself together so I could be there for my kids. My youngest son was pawpaws little buddy at the end. My dad was bed bound for the last year of his life. My son was 3-4 years old. I look for him and he’s be laying in pawpaws bed with him and my dad would have turned in SpongeBob to watch. Hearing this song and just thinking about my dad since this morning has made all of these memories fresh…and I can smile at them now. They’re not sad anymore. I still miss my daddy. I’m 47 years old and I still miss him. I wish now that I had access to all of my moms old home movies she recorded on an actual camcorder.
That is Brad's grandpa at the end there who says come on in and rock a while.

Definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever. It’s message is simple yet so strong. I love duets. This one is special. Dolly did a phenomenal job and the moment she says “Hallelujah”, I break down because it’s so beautifully done.

I lost my Mom the month before I turned 5. She had gotten off work early and was gonna walk to where my Dad worked. She was standing on the side of the road to cross to go to my Dad. A car accident happened in front of her and she was hit by one of the cars and killed! On my birthday a month later I had a present from her(she had put a doll on layaway for me and the store called my Dad to come get it and they waved the rest of the bill so I'd have the doll my Mom wanted me to have)! That was 48 years ago!
In the past 10 years I've lost my Dad and my step Mom! Life is so hard!

I found your podcast a few months ago. When you had first lost your dad. Everyday I just wanted to reach out and give you a hug. I lost my grandson a year ago in a tragic accident. Music always helped me get through things. You should listen to. I can only imagine and scars in heaven
I will miss him forever but these two songs seem to help me get through it. I've been praying for you. They say time heals but that's not true. It's just means The pain is not as sharp. You hang in there young man. You will see your father again.
I never got to know my grandparents. My paternal grandparents disowned us when my mother divorced their son when I was 3 years old. My maternal grandparents lived in England and I only got to see them twice... and both times us kids were to be seen and not heard. I have 4 grandkids now and you can damn sure know that they know how much their papa loves them.
My grandpa passed about 18 months ago. I can still see the ripple effects going through my family. My aunt was nearly in tears when I told her my dad and I were on the way to help out and we are bringing lunch just last week.

I understand your pain I lost my mom but she was just the most wonderful lady, she helps so many when I hear your story about your dad giving free stuff away just one story about my mom she was driving down the road and this lady older lady was walking and it was hot. I live in the south it was very hot and she stopped and asked her if she needed a ride to town and the lady was afraid to get in the car with her so she goes to town and she goes and gets, the chicken dinner, a big glass of sweet tea and cheese sticks a five dollar bill and a top of it. My mom didn’t have a lot of money but she gave away what she had and she went back and she said I know you don’t you’re afraid to ride with me but here’s a meal and a cool drink if you can have while you’re walking to town rest in the shade a minute and the lady said I do believe I will ride with you, so she took the lady to town and she enjoyed her meal in the car. That was my mom. Another story. There was this lady that was eating out of the garbage, my mom went to town got food and she kept seeing what time the lady would go there and she went ahead of her and put the food and drink it there for her and a bag of groceries so my mom was like your dad good people, so I feel your heart you know to have someone in your life is so loving so kind is a true blessing and I’ll see you takethat up God bless you and everyone and we all need to come together and love one another. I played this at my 20 year old son's funeral. My dad died in 2002 and my son was killed in a one car accident on his way to work in 2007.

Maybe because it makes you realize you're not alone - that others have also felt whatever pain/grief you're going through. ❤

If you ever get a chance listen to Janie's Got A Gun by Aerosmith....people don't want to believe this kind of thing happens but unfortunately it happens ALL too often parents beating, molesting and even killing their children ONLY Janie's Got A Gun she kills her father for molesting her. Also Johns Michael Montgomery's The Little Girl...very sad but glad they're shedding light on such a dark thing
