I started learning impressions in 2012, at the age of 20. You can follow my full impressions journey in my new ‘How to do impressions’ tutorial series
After graduating from the University of Warwick in the summer 2013 he took 4 months out to concentrate on CZcams videos full time, including producing his most viewed video to date ‘Morgan Freeman and 40 other impressions’ with just over 12 million views. This foray into being a ‘full time CZcamsr’ was cut short as he went travelling for 3 months before starting a 2 year teaching Graduate scheme with Charity ‘Teach First’.
While teaching he has performed in and narrated the 4 episode series ‘Lookalikes’ as Morgan Freeman. The show and the narration received a positive reception. The show aired on Channel 4 during the prime time slot of Friday 10pm for three weeks. It is now currently available on Netflix. Charlie also performed with other well known impressionists for an unaired pilot.
Charlie has worked for several prominent brands in relation to their products, including google and formula 1.
Since the summer of 2016 Charlie has once again dived into the world of CZcams, for the first time producing content on a weekly basis. He is also focusing on live performance; he has performed in live venues a total of 3 times to date.
His top impressions include:
Morgan Freeman (Red -Shawshank redemption)
Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf - Lord of the Rings)
Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman - Breaking Bad)
Alan Rickman (Snape - Harry Potter)
Michael Caine (Alfred - Batman)
Jon Snow (Game of Thrones)
Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Carribean)
Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained, Inglorious bastards)
Alec Guiness (Ben Kenobi - Star Wars)
Agent Smith (The Matrix)
Sean Bean (Boromir - Lord of the Rings)
Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield - The Hobbit)
Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister - Game of Thrones)
Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones)
Bryan Cranston (Walter White - Breaking Bad)
Frank Underwood (House of Cards)
Tommy Shelby (Peaky Blinders) - Zábava
What should be covered in episode 4?
You're doing a great job picking plot spots to ridicule. I'm happy to leave the choosing to you.
Would love to see Frodo and Sam talk about the non hobbits
Anything worth lampooning and mocking and ridiculing. Probably the whole thing if the first three episodes are any indication
The TV screen.
Gandalf talking about spoiled Galadriel is always welcoming 😁
Gandalf: "The sea is always right? What kind of bullshit is that?"
Gandalf was merely saying what we all are.
Maybe they mean ' Go with the Flow ' and don't hog the joint :)
So true I mean from episode 1 on all I've been saying basically in essence was this is such b*******
Life is simple, just add water.
This show is such utter shite it’s become a comedy 🎭
Right, but it then again, stuff that was supposed to be bad had bad shit in it, so you wouldn’t live em
“Isildur!” *cuts to baby Elrond* “Oh FUCK that guy” 🤣🤣🤣
That killed me🤣🤣🤣
At least it got us three books from Tolkien...
@@markholle3450 True true
"Isildur, you had one job!"
I said.... "except when its not"

So good 😂
"The flame of Abnor" is quite frankly fucking genius - absolutely killed me hahaha
I was looking for this comment LOL
Took me a sec but then, yeah, LMAO!
"The sea is always right! And sometimes is also on the left!"
spot on
"The sea is always underneath, least ye be dead."
@@thehermitman822 that depends, are you a stone or a paper boat?

My God it does sound like a leftist philosophy.
"Oh, fuck that guy" I can't stop laughing 🤣
Why is he a baby? 😂😭☠️
I died on that moment, was reborn to Valinor and keep watching the video.
'They can't even get it in focus!' killed me 🤣
I fucking love it when Elrond said “oh fuck that guy” …. Fell off my seat laughing!!! 😂
I’m sure others have said it, but god, this needs to be a sitcom! All the LOTR’s characters living in a bed-sit.
Non
I think a Galaxy Quest take is well in order
I think your describing the "young ones"
No
That sitcom would get better reviews than rings of power lol
"The sea is always right."
Oh, I get it, they were going for one of those "Winter is Coming", "We do not Sow", "Hear Me Roar"...sort of things, except in Game of Thrones those mottos MAKE SENSE!
They were definitely going with “what is dead may never die” but comes off so bad lmao
The show dosent have a style of Its own. So it takes bits from others and makes this ugly supe of mishmash styles from all over. In this case they where realy going for a GOT style high hause slogan .
I mean "what is dead may never die" is equally as cringe.
Winter is coming....then it came for like a few days and then all is peachy again.
@@jonegeland5036 Sure, but at least it makes sense. And is used by the krakenbois to give them courage.
When he said "Emmy please" I lost it. Absolutely hilarious 😂
You know this show will get at least a couple of Emmies.
Galadriel's face riding the horse is the best description of what is this series
That it's fake and forced... Yeah that's correct lol. Disturbing to see also
She looks so scary when she smiles
"Some of them just look like LARPers" already got me cracking 😆 So on point, Gandalf!
Baby Elrond is the best ! "I can tell you which muppet allowed it to endure..." :D
"I'm fine. I'm fine."
'C.S Lewis is already down the pub' absolutely set me off 😂
Writing in Peter Jackson's Lotr: "Have you ever seen it, Aragorn? The White Tower of Ecthelion, glimmering like a spike of pearl and silver, its banners caught high in the morning breeze. Have you ever been called home by the clear ringing of silver trumpets?"
Writing in Rings of Power: "The sea is always right!"
I still think "Why does a ship float and a rock does not" takes the award for the worst line so far
Ugh. They messed up from the very beginning by choosing inexperienced show runners. Smmfh. This is such a fucking disaster.
I love the way baby Gandalf is so pissed off, young lord Elrond is always holding a grudge and Gandalf is ALWAYS roasting everyone! This is sooo FUNNY 😆 !
This had me in pain laughing. How is one guy making something so much more enjoyable and that looks and sounds so much more like the original lord of the rings movies in one weeks time than Amazon could with a billion freaking dollars!? Well done mate, I’m absolutely loving your content.

You know a show is terrible when the comic reviews are much more entertaining than the actual show
It's not that terrible. I feel 6 out of 10 is a proper score. I mean it's not a 9 but it is far less revolting than I feared.
@@Mat-hr1dg yeah it's not as painful as I thought it would be. Still pretty shit, But not the worst......mmmm
It’s easily a 4/10. No way in hell is this thing any more than that. It’s absolute cringe writing, acting and storytelling. Utter 12 year old level dog shit.
@@nicholasbagley160 we shouldn't settle for mediocrity though. That's why we are where we are with modern entertainment, we constantly give a pass to crap and they continue to make it because we endorse it

I love the babysitter/dad Boromir cameo.
"The mountains are always wrong", well said Boromir, well said.

Hollywood is in for a rough ride. They've been brutalizing the fans for so long, it's time we got a little comeuppance. The more they try and tighten their grip on things like this, the more star systems will slip through their fingers.

"The sea will never die" - Euronbrand
How can millions of $ endless resources and could afford the best directors and writers we get rings of power.Yet a lone wolf one man with very limited resources can give us great entertainment. This show has become my all time favoirit. Its not just this show all of em are woke crap but i watch them to watch you roast them.
They could’ve easily hired Peter Jackson honestly and made a new masterpiece with that kinda money. They made all the bad decisions they could’ve made
Really dude? “favoirit”?
the comment on legolas running on thin air got me cracking that was hilarious, I remembered that scene immediately 🤣😅
Amazon spent billions and I enjoyed this 100 times more 😂- So Awesome. You have Gandalf, Elron and Boramir spot on. Sooo entertaining

Amazon "the sea told me to and the sea is always right"
It took me way too long to realise that that's not Ian McKellen! 😀 Well done guys, looks and sounds fantastic.
You've got to be kidding me. That's not Ian McKellen?
I really hope he decides to do a future one 😅
Okay. My parents and I used to sail a lot when I was a kid, and old sailors would always say 'You can't argue with the sea' and there was even a shanty with words 'storm will teach humility and respect for its strenght. You want to live, you have to, pay homage.' But 'Sea is always right' is the stupidest thing I have yet heard about a sea. Since the beggining of time it was known that sea is temperamental and unpredictable like a woman. Who came up with that line? Whoever it is, they should be ashamed of themselves.
If you stir that a bit, you get "women are always right.' Which seems to be the core premise of this production.
Yeah, but the hills are always wrong.
@@poppedweasel no the hills always have eyes
@@poppedweasel But they have the high ground.
"The sea cannot be defied". Bam. There you go. Maybe they don't chant it to the sea, but as a common phrase it would work far better.
Please keep going, these are hilarious! I’m even considering watching (enduring) episode 4 just so these are even funnier.
Surprised you didn’t roast the slo-mo rictus grin in this one 😬
'I reckon Lenny Henry is Sauron'. 😂 I'm dying
"To what port do we sail?"
"See for yourself, we are nearly there"
"Nearly where?"
*waits and looks wistfully* "... Home"
Omfg, fire that writer.
He couldn't resist the clichéd impulse of someone asking back "nearly where", and then the clichéd impulse for some cheesy closing word. Even if it directly contradicts the previous lines and attitudes of not giving an answer and "see for yourself".
And all throughout this episode every interaction followed these cheesy automatic patterns that had no content and no natural motivation or reason, but only served to fulfill the familiar pattern.
This could and should easily have been the first really good episode (by story logic), instead it was the definitive establishment of "mediocrity" at best, which conventionally breaks down into something worse in episode 3 and so on every couple of episodes (with every single episode being unbearably stretched at that).
Probably using the same automatic Quote Generator as Kamala Harris' speech writers. That, or these are her speech writers... hmm
This show blows
"The sea is always salty. Do not anger it."
"...it will have it's vengeance."
Galadriel is also always salty. Do not anger her either.
These episode breakdowns are hilarious, can’t wait for next week. Brilliant stuff mate.
"Oh, it's like 10 to 5 on a Friday."
"C.S.Lewis is already in the pub."
"The sea is always right... That'll do."
They should hire this guy to single-handedly fix their show just like that.
Dude is a teenager trapped in an old dude's body. Love him! 🤣
I pray the Rings of Powder makes it as a show so Gandalf can continue his roasts! Just hilarious
In terms of silliness, elf parkour is tied with legolas skateboarding down stairs at helms deep. But not as bad as running in mid air like the Roadrunner. That was from the Hobbit pt.3 wasn't it?
Yep
Someone added Mario jump sound effects for the Lego jumping the falling stones scene.
God, that shit was so bizarre.
Mind you, Galadriel playing SuperMario and jumping up and down levels to kill snow trolls was pretty bad.
@@thehermitman822 I also vaguely remember legolas leaping over on elephant in RotK? But this silliness was amped up to 11 in The Hobbit trilogy. Maybe a case of malicious compliance? The producers kept nagging Peter Jackson to include more action scenes, so he gave them more (silly, over the top) action scenes.
Sort your priorities mate...Wahahahaha!
7:03 the Flame of Abnor 😂😂
This roasting is infinitely more entertaining than the actual series.
Very funny. Not seen the series or these videos before. Love it.

It's more entertaining to watch those roasting videos than the show itself 😂😂😂
I swear, if you look at the scenes, pretending you do not know what it is, you'll just feel like this is a game of thrones setting.
Absolute perfect impressions. Genius!
Funny part is, according to Tolkien, Gandalf didn't exist until the start third age and he arrived by Sea. Gandalf existing in the second age is fan fiction. Also looks like the sea got something right at least.
So, they officially failed spectacularly at trying to be lore-friendly....which they weren't.
The sea is ALWAYS right...
Gandalf existed since the beginning of time. He didn’t exist in MIDDLE EARTH until the third age. Tolkien’s writing suggests (IIRC) that the Maiar were either created _with_ the Valar or just after them.
But, again, none of them showed up on Middle Earth and interacted with any of the inhabitants therein until the Istari sailed to Middle Earth (which included Gandalf, Saruman and Radagast).
@@eliteteamkiller319 He wasn't Gandalf prior to middle earth, that is very much his earthly name. Before the third age he was Olorin. The reason that is distinctive is because they lose memory of most of their past life when they arrive to earth, effectively reborn as a new being.
@@sean_thomson I'm aware he was Olórin. I don't remember reading they lose their memory though.
Just googled though, and it seems they didn't forgot the past, but rather it just felt far away:
"For it is said indeed that being embodied the Istari had need to learn much anew by slow experience and *_though they knew whence they came_* the memory of the Blessed Realm was to them a vision from afar off, for which (so long as they remained true to their mission) they yearned exceedingly. Thus by enduring of free will the pangs of exile and the deceits of Sauron they might redress the evils of that time."
It seems based on that text that they do not lose their past life, but rather it becomes a "vision from far off," which I don't think is as extreme as amnesia.
I subscribed! More, please! How bizarre is this channel, i truly enjoy it!
why does actual gandalf on the couch look more authentic than the whole rings of powa together?
THIS WAS BRILLIANT XD. the mountains are always wrong xD
OMG, who ever did the voice impersonation on these videos, you are truly talented. This is the 2nd one I watched, the first one I watched was the episode 1 video and I did not read that message in the beginning so I watched the whole thing thoroughly believing that it was the actual actors doing the voices and yes, I know Christopher Lee is dead, so I just thought you guys digitally put him in there by stitching his voice from various work he did. You definitely DID NOT impersonate them POORLY as you stated in your beginning message.. Very well done!!!
