    Use a silver sharpie. Marks on any dark object and doesn't interfere with your welds.

    It’s important to verify the correct length of the Tinworks trailing arms.
    I was surprised how far the front rod end had to be unscrewed to equal the length of the stock trailing arms.

    • @SIMPLE.C10
      @SIMPLE.C10  Před rokem

      I agree to verify everything whether replacing factory parts or installing a completely custom setup. Thankfully in my case I can make it whatever length I want it to be since I’ll be shortening the driveshaft and mounting the bags in a different location. Thanks for your input!

    Good job. I would have drilled or holesaw holes to run the tubing or pipe through to make stronger.

    Just wondering, would using a level (vertically) on the edge of the axle housing to find the edge of the housing. Transfer that mark to the frame, then measure back from the mark half the dia of the axle should find the mid point? Like your video! New subscriber!

    Will I run into issues with pinion angle if I run the Velaworks step notch with a stock trailing arm cross member?

    • @SIMPLE.C10
      @SIMPLE.C10  Před 6 měsíci

      Nonissues with pinion angle, but you will need to cut the top loop of your trailing arm crossmember because the driveshaft will hit it.

    What welder did you use 120v OR 220V ? Also when you did your front set up conversion the tire rods in the brake kit upgrade won't fit into the original front drag link I'm doing 73-87 conversion for a 63 c10 not sure if i skipped over didn't see anyone upgrade their drag link when converting front brake and suspension.

    • @SIMPLE.C10
      @SIMPLE.C10  Před rokem

      I used a 220. Tie rods may need upgraded depending on the style and year spindle you convert to. I usually swap out the ball joints and tire rods when I convert.

    will 2" blocks work on the rear or does it have to be 3"?

    • @SIMPLE.C10
      @SIMPLE.C10  Před rokem +1

      On 22s the Velaworks block is 4 inch. It depends on what size wheels. On 20s a 3 would be the largest to not have scrub issues. On smaller wheels, you need to have a smaller block. Scrub issues are when the trailing arm or u bolt stick below the rim and could drag the ground if you had a flat.

    I watched this video several times, but I still ended up with my notch being to far forward which left bag mount almost at the edge of the notch. Any suggestions for mounting the bags?

    Do the Tinworks trailing arms work if you've cut the frame for a short box?

    • @SIMPLE.C10
      @SIMPLE.C10  Před rokem

      Depends on where you cut the frame. If you cut between the trailing arm crossmember and front half then it should.

    • @user-yq6mc2wi9n
      @user-yq6mc2wi9n Před rokem +1

      @@SIMPLE.C10 Was your frame cut down or standard length?

    • @SIMPLE.C10
      @SIMPLE.C10  Před rokem

      @@user-yq6mc2wi9n all my frames were standard. I know their arms will work with short or long bed because the trailing arms are the same length. When you shorten a truck the correct way it moves the trailing arm crossmember to under the cab. If that’s how you did it then it’s correct.

      @SIMPLE.C10 Thanks for the feedback your videos are awesom. I just picked up a 1965 C10. You have pretty much laid a blueprint to build a cool truck. I'm sure I'll have a few questions along the way, thanks again.
