You should've grabbed mist raven for Genichiro phase 3. It would allow you to do another fun mechanic in the game, lightning reversals, by USING a prosthetic tool. That seems like something that's definitely in the spirit of your run.
@@umbekI was pointing out that you could've had it before that fight as well. You didn't avoid it later in the run but I was just saying that Geni's third phase is more enjoyable when you have access to lightning reversal.

Amazing video. The dodges with sabimaru show how stupidly good the hitboxes of this game are (at least regarding to the player). Sekiro is one of the only games in which I still get amazed by it after beating it more than 10 times.

I don't think I'm familiar with that mod! But I'll add it to the list :) I think I'm going to mostly save the massively game-changing mods (such as Resurrection and Long May The Shadows Reflect) until I've mostly exhausted my ideas that revolve around the Randomizer mod and other more simple ideas

I don't know if anyone has suggested this, but you could try a run where you only use the umbrella for deflections. You would probably have to download a mod with all prosthetics unlocked though. Just an idea, I don't know if it would work in practice. Great video, by the way. Been a subscriber for a while.

Yes, I think the way it works is Improved Sabimaru unlocks the second combo and does very slight chip damage; Piercing Sabimaru does increased chip damage; Lazulite Sabimaru does increased Poison buildup and leaves poison clouds
Assuming a "normal" run. Divine abduction's main use is to insta kill Senpou monks and Tarro troopers. Tarro troopers are those trolls often armored or carry bells etc. Sadly the 5 spear adepts are not affected by abduction. Golden Vortex is very good with Demon Bell to farm the monks for sugar/loot you can often"kill" more than 1 with just 1 use. Every other use is not worth the cost. I think the game very sparingly uses its armor removal mechanics. (many people do not even know it there) Most armored tarro troopers can often get stealth killed or abducted. Afaik only 1 sub-boss(red guard something) has armor in the entire game in the optional late-game outskirts area.
That wouldn't help, miniboss health resets if they de-aggro. If you've already done 1 Deathblow you have to do 2 again to kill them if they lose aggro. Otherwise you'd be able to cheese almost all of them by doing exactly what you described.
Did you know that you can deflect snake eyes grab with sword? You could have deflected it wwith umbrella on this run. Also, at 14:41, you could've burnt all monkeys at once using upgraded flame vent
I wish you'd had used the fire- blue fire axe, or the fire spear, lazulite sabumaru and some other prosthetic tools, but still very entertaining video and I am not personally bothered at all by you deflecting. Without deflecting the game would be spamming shurikens
Trust me I wanted to but there are only so many upgrade items without spending time farming haha. It's pretty hard to get all the prosthetic upgrades in one playthrough
I noticed that Genichiro staggers from his grab attack if he manages to cancel it with a block. If you dodge around him and your attack goes through, then he won't stagger back. Just a little observation I made :D

I think TTS would be a very different vibe than what I'm currently going for but I appreciate the feedback. Going forward I'll probably try to keep the text on screen for longer and also have the individual blocks of text be smaller so there's less to read

Make sure to bring a Combat Art or Prosthetic Tool that can stagger him when he's doing his big charged-up circular slash attack and use Mist Raven for easy Lightning Reversal in phase 3. Beyond that there isn't a lot of specific advice I can give. He's tough and just requires practice

I didn't have the fully upgraded Flame Vent at that time, lol. Getting it isn't exactly fast. And yes, I know you can deflect the grab attack.

I saw that at 8:37, Genichiro was coming for a grab attack but when you attacked with the sabimaru, he cancelled and blocked instead, staggering back.
