something interesting i think is often missed about the Hidden Forest area, that is a testament to From Soft's attention to detail and world building lore of Sekiro - myself being someone who made the mistake of getting a degree in botany, i couldnt help but notice a rather diminutive asset in the area around the 2nd fatty slob boss...the little blueish white plants scattered about actually exist IRL and their in game design is basically botanically correct...that detail alone might not be worth mentioning, but the plants bizarrely uncommon means for survival and its english common name is...technically called Monotropa uniflora, its known as "ghost plant", and for good reason...unlike most plants its entirely white, from its flower tops thru its roots...this is cuz it does not contain chlorophyll, the stuff that makes plants green, which is generated via sunlight thru photosynthesis...and instead ghost plant is a parasite, its hosts being underground fungus that leeches its energy from tree roots...so ultimately its energy comes from photosynthetic trees. and since it doesn't need direct sunlight to grow, it can grow in very dark environments, like the understory of dense forest, often making it quite hidden and difficult to find - giving its relevance to the game an ominous triple entendre of sorts - in the Hidden Forest, ghost like and parasitic... bonus fact it is related to blueberries and while native to Japan/Asia, its also common in North America, Central and northern South America

Rahul Verma I know about India’s history an alright amount. No offense intended. Just saying that taking lives and giving up lives for the sake of it should never be the priority in a war. Soldiers usually aren’t the ones at fault after all(except in the case of most{but not all} nazi’s as well as confederate soldiers) so I don’t think they should be the targets in a war, unless the opponent is threatening you with genocide. Sacrifice can be an amazing thing for humanity but when sacrifice makes no true difference, it’s just a death. Very few people have ever sacrificed themselves and truly changed something about the world. It is a sad but undeniable truth in my eyes

You actually kill him twice in the good ending. The same could be said about Genichiro and Ishin. Fel a lot of people meme on ds2’s design but I don’t understand why they say stuff like that about earthen peak. There’s a mountain behind the windmill right? Behind the mountain is the giant lava and fire landscape we all see. The elevator we ride is us riding to the top of a large mountain with a sea of lava and a castle on top. The only problem is the tunnel leading to the elevator isn’t long enough. Just imagine it’s a couple miles and the devs shortened it. That’s the only inconsistency there imo.

One thing to keep in mind: the Ashina were heretics.
They fought dirty. They worshiped alien fish people. And many of them sought immortality. That's part of why the "ministry" eventually came for them.
One of the strong recurring themes in ALL soulsborne titles is the idea that immortality is a BAD thing...
The fishgods promised immortality-- immortal servitude. The red-robed fish people locked in the highest chambers appear to be cannibalistic zombies when the player finds them. They don't "reign from on high"; they live in one small, dark room with nothing to devour but each other...
If you kill the giant carp and then talk to its caretaker, he's grateful to have finally finished his eternal duty. His daughter asked you to break the fish's control over him, earlier. Later, you find he had two daughters. One tries to comfort him (he's dead at this point), you then find the OTHER is in that dark room, killing the last of the red-robed fish people.
I think this symbolizes the fact that the fish people WERE monsters that should never have been worshiped. They only offered immortality as a means to get a few free slaves. And in fact those few who DID get "immortality" lost so much in the process that it wasn't worth it (hence the infestation and zombification).
The red and black mortal blades appear to be a token to this, in that: Death can sometimes be an act of mercy.
Maybe it's just as a means to end the suffering of one who has been forced to be alive for far too long, or maybe it's as a means of taking something that is dead back.
These are two sides of the same coin-- two blades, one red and one black.
Maybe the fish people weren't always evil-- maybe they weren't always in charge... But in the end, I think the mortal blades were offered as a means of "correcting" immortality.

"There exists a great gorge into which immortals are cast away into the underworld."
That reminds me so much of the opening for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. In this story, 6 vampire lieutenants have served under a far older vampire named Kain in a dying empire for over a millennium. Raziel had surpassed his master in power which provoked Kain to wound him terribly. In his wounded state, Raziel is dragged by his brothers Turel and Dumah towards The Lake of the Dead or the abyss as it's later referred as. Kain orders orders his lieutenants to cast Raziel into the depths in which Raziel is then scorched by the waters almost beyond recognition. After countless centuries, Raziel is finally resurrected in the underworld. In his new wraith state, Raziel is undying and can never truly be killed or destroyed, he is now a truly immortal being who spends the rest of the series taking revenge on his brethren and master who executed him as well as unearthing answers of his origin along the way. I know this quote most likely is of no reference to the game, but I just love how similarly it describes the game.

I have some information/theory surrounding the Black Mortal Blade (BMB).
Isshin has possession of the BMB in the opening cutscene where he defeats General Tamura, if you didn’t know that watch the cutscene but slow it down, it’s there. By the time Owl shows up at Ashina Castle, Genichiro has possession of it (as shown in this video).
After showing Isshin the Crimson Mortal Blade and then eavesdropping on Isshin he says "The crimson Mortal Blade...That means the one he has must be...black, then. To abandon oneself in search of strength...How tragic..." This sounds as though Isshin thought that the Black Mortal Blade was at Senpou Temple and is surprised the one we obtain is crimson.
So we can gather that Isshin isn’t entirely sure on the BMB’s whereabouts. I’m just confused on how Genichiro got it and where he got it from whether it was Senpou or somewhere else.

I tend to keep my brightness settings higher than you seem to (I find it easier to deflect by watching the reflected light off the blades), so I could see pretty clearly that the Shinobi Door at the Ashina Outskirts opens onto a tunnel -- it's not hard to imagine that that tunnel leads through the mountains to the Demon Bell at Senpou Temple.
(I'd presume the same holds true for the passage from Ashina Castle's keep to the Dilapidated Temple -- hidden passages and escape routes weren't uncommon features in Sengoku-era castles, and the temple's a pretty good evacuation spot in the event of a siege on the castle; sadly, Genichiro continues to beat me bloody, so I haven't been able to confirm that to be the case.)

I'm beginning to believe that Sekiro is actually connected with the soulsborne, (or Darkblood, if you're into that,) notice that the twinblade enemies are carrying curved-twinblades, there's a weapon in DS2 called the Curved Twinblade, it's item description actually reads,
"A twinblade imported from a foreign land. The razor-sharp blades cause bleeding, but as a result, are easily worn and dulled.
When wielded by a master, this dual-tipped blade is an unparalleled weapon that hardly allows a foe the opportunity to retaliate."
You get this weapon from the chancellor at Drangleic castle in NG++, which is something you probably already know by now.

4:05 That's actually the sound you get when you drag the plectrum up the strings of a Shamisen. You can hear the same sound in Okami's song "Giant Monster in Wait". It's likely just a sound effect they included just because it sounded cool.

It is a shame, yes. And it had such potential for good bosses, too: Lady Tomoe, Orangutan and Kingfisher, The Good Hunter... Heck, there's even a blank spot in the upper left corner of the world map that would've been perfect for a DLC area.

Slyrapture bloodborne rewards aggressiveness... it is about precision in a different way. Think of your pistols as a perfect block in sekiro - also be patient and look up all the moves for whatever weapon you’re using- sometimes they aren’t all obvious.. also be patient and just enjoy that incredible setting and all the dlc - that is my fav Miyazaki story/game and setting..lore is deep and relatable and DARK.. just. So many high notes .. definitely different than sekiro it play-wise tho
