Lived here 30 years, this video is a really honest representation of the City. After Uni housing is cheap compared to Exeter/Bristol and it has more waterside peninsula than any other UK city, within easy walk 5/10 minute walk from most parts of town. Clean air and safe.
Thank you for your comment! I agree
Yeah, definitely accurate! Only nineteen but was born and raised in Plym and I love it. Has it's bad sides but it's wonderful. :)
As someone from near London, this was really helpful, thank you!
Biraj No problem!
Most detailed video, coming to Plymouth next week, I'm exited
All the best!!
Thank you so much for this video!! Been looking for something like this so I can sort of know how it’s like there. I’m a young Nigerian girl & seeing that there’s someone like me there has made me so happy. I’m planning on applying this year.
Aww i'm glad!
I'm also applying this year🔥 but I'm from Ghana
I'm wondering who liked my reply 😂 so quickly

This was so so helpful thank you! I’m looking at applying for dentistry :))
This is a really really great video, thanks for the help!

Nothing to do with Uni but want to move there so this video has been really helpful :)
I’ve lived in Plymouth my whole life but I’m in my 1st year at the uni. Genuinely feel so thankful to live here and I’m glad you seem to enjoy it too.

Going there in September and this video was really helpful. Thank you for this. It's over 4 hours away from my home though :(
How are you finding it so far!
this is so helpful! thank you

This video was so helpful, I feel a lot more chilled about being away from home now as you seem to love it. I'm from Cheshire yet applying this year for Plymouth university to study dental hygiene and therapy so I'll be far from home too. Seeing you have done basically the same thing I'm wanting to do makes me so happy to see you're enjoying it!! xx

Hello... I am applying for September intake 2021 and I would like to know if I need to apply pre sectional English course first or apply the degree and then join the PSEC later (after being accepted or being contacted by the university), since I do not currently have valid English Language Qualification (I have Diploma in TESOL but don’t think it will be counted like IELTS or TOFL) and I do not have enough time to prepare and take IELTS... If someone knows, please 🙏

Hi. I have a random question. Do you know if there are only Mac computers in this university?
And thank you for this video, I'm trying to find out as much as possible about studying in Plymouth so this was very helpful.
do you have any opinion on the Gilwell accommodation? I'm joining Plymouth this September, this video was really helpful. Thank you xx
Hey love yes gilwell is one of the less fancy accommodation but very good cost wise. The downside is that you have to share a bathroom with other people but you save money x
Hi just came across your video..totally loved it..please aside the initial deposit did you pay any fees at enrolment?
Im from sri lanka, and currently in my final year of tourism. Wanted to better understand about the university thanks u helped me

will it be good if I do Msc in electrical and electronics engineering in Plymouth?
I want to apply for master's degree in the university of Plymouth but don't know how to go about it.
Hello! I have a question. The medical campus is 4 miles away from the actual campus this sounds like it’s a problem because it’s just in a really awkward location and it’s not in the central campus what do you think about this?
Anika Hey! Most of the medical students are based on campus for the first couple of years. The place I believe you are talking about it derriford hospital which the university provide us with free bus passes to get there so it’s not a big issue! ☺️
Yewande thank you!! Okay I thought the medical students were isolated up there in derriford! Glad to hear it’s not like that.
Hiya, what about the ACS society? Where you apart of that,if so is it quite big?
Yes I was!! It’s not too big or too small feels like a family
What is the cheapest accomodation close to University of Plymouth
What lovely young lady,i hope she stayed in Plymouth

Is the support there good? Do they support you if you’re struggling? x
I'm about to apply for a year abroad from germany and I'm so excited to go :)))
Amazing good luck!!
@@YewandeDental thank you!!!
You’ll love mate. Try to do everything while your here, go to different places and try to tour around the U.K. too. I like to vist Dartmoor and Cornwall.
I’m thinking about going there next year, what about accommodating is it expensive. Like how much will it cost if i wanted to live by myself instead of sharing with other students?
Accommodation in Plymouth is actually quite cheap compared to many other places, especially London! I’m a uni student in Plymouth right now and the cheapest accommodation I’ve seen is £99 a week for a shared flat (up to 7 people in a flat), and that includes an ensuite bathroom as well, although this accom is about a 10 minute walk from campus. There are also studio rooms which can start from around £125 a week which is still quite cheap id say but it depends where u look, hope this helps! :)
Jemimah Tikare Thank you so much, very helpful
Are there any lithuanica or polish shipping over there? 😀
loved this video! i’m interested in doing child nursing at plymouth and it’s so nice to see a fellow black girl who goes to the uni! would you say that it’s a diverse uni?
naa bruv I’m glad you enjoyed it!! Yes it was a lot more diverse than I anticipated
Yewande Ah really that’s great! It’s just that I heard that for nursing, you have to do your placement at Truro and apparently Cornwall has a racism problem so I’m scared that if I go to that hospital for placement, my experience will be ruined by racism 😭. For Dentistry, what hospital do you do your placement at?
@@itsxavybx I am really sorry you feel that about Cornwall. I live in Cornwall and I work at Plymouth Uni. I cannot talk personally but living here I would probably say the area is less diverse but not racist. Obviously you can't say that anywhere you go there wouldn't come across an idiot but I would say the chances were extremely slim. I have never known Cornwall to come across racist, sad if that has ever been someone's experience. We would love to have you study with us. No matter your choice of where you go I hope you have a great time. 🙃
Michelle Frost ah thank you so much! I’m still considering Plymouth as my first choice, I’ve just heard some bad things about Cornwall but I shouldn’t let it impact my decision.
@@itsxavybx Hey, I have just finished my second year of adult nursing at Plymouth (although I started off on child nursing). When you start you get to pick 3 areas where you want to do your placements. You can choose Plymouth, Cornwall, North Devon, Torbay, Taunton & Somerset (Yeovil area), so you can choose to not have your placements in Cornwall. Although I am Welsh, In terms of diversity, Derriford Hospital (the main hospital in Plymouth) has such a diverse range of staff. They have a lot of transitional nurses from all over the world, I have worked with nurses, doctors, HCA's, domestics, admin staff from all over the world. I am yet to see any racism towards staff in Derriford, and the children's wards there are super lovely to do placements in and the staff are so supportive and the uni is always there if you experience anything that made you uncomfortable. I would 100% recommend Plymouth to anyone, you get the city life whilst being at the sea and get to experience placements in a hospital with a major trauma centre so your learning would be amazing!!
Hi!!!! u are so bloody gorgeous!! but I just want to ask u can u go to un I and study dental nurse swell or is it just a waste of money xx
Martha Grmai Aww thank you! I think it may be better to do a dental nursing apprenticeship

Hello dear yewande, Thanks so much for your video, why did you choose to study at Plymouth, would you consider it an all round great University and a respected one in the UK? Please reply dear.
It’s ranked one of the best for modern universities across the world. It’s well respected and I’ve know people who have gone on to do masters in St. Andrews and Cambridge. It’s all in the student and not so much the university.
@@SelfImprovement1111 thanks so much dear, thank you. Can international students get part time job there or should I move to London for part time job?
Some London universities (Oxbridge, UCL?, LSE?) will frown upon or even ban you directly from having a part time job. But I think that is just the most prestigious of universities.
Yes you can get a part time job!

Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!
