So far I am happy with switching over to battery powered. Have the same one as you and also decided to forgoe gas mowers and bought an 80V Kobalt mower. I was so tired of the "choking" aspect on gas powered tools. I always had issues. Battery power all the way now!

Keep tension with your finger on the spool line as you you insert line through the opening. The line won't unravel on you.

The notches in the spool are for holding the line while you are setting on the drive spool. Pull out 6” of line , lock it in one of the notches, thread the line thru the hole as you are installing the spool. When the spool is locked, tug on the line and it’s ready to go

Does it stay towards the middle of the spool or towards the edging of the spool???? I am aggravated with these spools. My son cut the grass yesterday in the evening and had no time to trim so there I went out this morning and I had to stop every 3 min and fix the thread because it comes out easily and ends even sooner. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use czcams.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.

I have the same model and came with a 2.5ah battery...going on 5 yrs now no issues...but would suggest using b&d line for this trimmer or else auto feed wont work as it should...great little trimmer.

Yes, you can do that if you know where to get the strings for cheap. The wheels were cheap.
