Sorry, about the package opening part. You can use the scroll bar to skip the package opening piece if you like from 1:13 to 2:09
No reason to be sorry, I experienced the exact, same, annoyance with getting the plastic off. Kinda enjoyed knowing another had the same challenge. Thanks for the video. Respect.
Good to know others struggle with these things, too. Thanks for keeping it real. 👍
Thank you SO much for this tutorial!! I was seriously having an anxiety attack just thinking about trying to replace the line, you made it sooo very simple for me!!
Me too, but after watching I replace the spindle and it work👍
Did you manage to do it
You sir, are a lifesaver. I used your directions and had it changed in seconds. The directions that came with the trimmer were unhelpful at best. THANK YOU!!!!!!❤❤❤
Great to hear!
Thank you for sharing this ! It was absolutely helpful! This is my second year of using the trimmer, I had absolutely no idea how to fix it but with your video I was able to trim my grass today!🙏🥰😁😁😁
So far I am happy with switching over to battery powered. Have the same one as you and also decided to forgoe gas mowers and bought an 80V Kobalt mower. I was so tired of the "choking" aspect on gas powered tools. I always had issues. Battery power all the way now!
Keep tension with your finger on the spool line as you you insert line through the opening. The line won't unravel on you.
My cap broke and I needed to see the inside to order the correct parts that went missing. Thanks for the close up view, that really helped.
Was having a little trouble and your video directed me to wind the string the right way. I lost the manual years ago.
A big thank you 😊 🙏 You made my life easier this Sunday afternoon. Great 5 min video. I might toss in that, I thought my 2 yr old battery was run down or left for dead. I looked at the spool and saw I was out. Bought a new spool at Menards for $7.49 ... watched your video, replaced the B&D spool, and wallah ... it wasn't almost dead after all. Just needed a new spool lol.
Thanks again!! 🧡💛💚
Yw
thank you very much for this video especially for the tip on feeding the line through the hole before setting down the rest of the cartridge into the trimmer.
Pro tip:
Buy a spool of .065 line, for 1/4 the price, and wrap it back into your old cassette.
I can dig that
Lol I just bought some spool cassettes and found out they weren't the size I needed. So I just took the line out of it and wrapped it around my old cassette, problem solved. 😅
Opening the package was very helpful. I keep thinking I’m a klutz because I can’t find the “easy open” tab. Now I know there isn’t one. Thanx.
Thanks for the reply
King Kong could not "easily" open most of those! 😂
Thank you! This was perfect. My first time changing one and I didn’t want to bother my son or anyone else for a task I can do myself.
Glad it helped.
Your helping me out and I thank you.
Well rounded and full on in depth commentary and visual. Thanks!
Thank you. It was just what I needed. My line kept coming undone too, but I fixed. Thanks again. I subscribed!
Thanks
Great vid man. Short, very informative, and straight to the point!
This is good cause I thought I was going to have to manually wind line onto a spool. Good to know it's just a cartridge replacement.
Thank you so much for this video. Like a dumb*** I was trying to hold the spool inside of the cap while putting it in the trimmer! I think I've got it in and ready to go. Have a great day!
Yw. No worries, glad to help. Have a great day also.
Thanks this was really helpful
Thank you for the tutorial. I’m learning how to use all the outdoor tools and this was helpful
Great to hear!
Appreciate video. Thanks.
This was so helpful - thank you!! 👍
Thank you soooo much for this demonstration. 😊
I have lst136. It's supposed to autofeed the line but it doesn't work. Any idea how to fix this?
The notches in the spool are for holding the line while you are setting on the drive spool. Pull out 6” of line , lock it in one of the notches, thread the line thru the hole as you are installing the spool. When the spool is locked, tug on the line and it’s ready to go
Hell yeah!!! Thanks bro 🙏🏾
Ty. Using your affiliate link. Had to find a CZcams Husband to help me with this lol. Thanks a lot. Subscribed.
Thank you!
Thank you - your tutorial was really the most helpful. On to the lawn!
Great to hear!
Thank u... I just put new cartridge in!!!
Thanks! 👍🏽
This video helped me so much thanks!!!!!💪🏾
That was better than SNL skit. LOL
Lol, thanks
Sziasztok
kérdésem, amikor rövidebb lesz, szét kell szedni hogy adagoljam?
The manual is of little help with this job, so thanks for a clear description.
Thanks for for the video! But how do you feed spool? On the instruction says it automatically feeds trimmer line but when I press the easy feeder button nothing happen.
I actually have the same exact issue. So, I just pull the wire by hand. I know that eliminates the self-feeding feature but not sure what else to do.
I've had two of these now and the same problem. The automatic feed never ever works.. frustrating. I just pull by hand as well
An old mower guy told me to spray wd 40 on the inside spool and it won't hang up. It worked for me.
Shoot, I buy trim line and just reuse the old spool. But after I feed it through the line its always too long and it hits the inside of the shield. I just cut a bit off and from there on out it works perfect until it's completely run out of line. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ Always works for me.
Thanks man…I guess I was over-complicating it. Pretty easy.
You're welcome!
Hey thanks good video
Nice! Thank you!
Thank you too!
Thank you ☀️
How do u restring the spool
I have another question, how do you fix the lock mechanism the spool won't feed/come out it keeps getting stuck. I noticed the small part that controls the feed has wire attached them and it seems loose. Please advise.
unable to understand what you are explaining over the internet.
It's normal that the line touches the guard when you turn it on????or it's doesn't have to touch it??
That was clumsy but helpful. The problem I happen to be having is that the exposed string length stays too short.
annoying...
Me too! How do you fix that?
Does anyone know what to do when the line is being used up quickly?
Looks like I install it correctly like the video but my trimmer line keep getting tangled up and stuck. I had to turn the power off and fix it almost every few minutes which is frustrating. What went wrong? I enjoy cutting grass but hate weed walking for that reason.
Can't really tell remotely. My guess is the line isn't wrapped right probably. It should just pull to come out of the spool.
It's been almost 2 years, how has the trimmer held up from a reliability stand point? On a full charge how long is the battery lasting now versus when you first bought it?
The trimmer is still great. I don't have any problem with it. Well thru a few spools of lines already. I found the battery doesn't last that long so definitely need the 2 batteries.
My spool isn’t out of thread, but it’s jammed somehow and isn’t auto deploying as it wears down
Thanks 😊
Thanks a bunch but ya spent most of the time opening the package lol. I’d prob do something like that. But I appreciate your video
yeah, that package was the best pain on the whole thing. lol
Lol
I have watched many of these videos and no one talks about that little thing inside the spool ( looking like a 'comma" sign). Does it stay towards the middle of the spool or towards the edging of the spool???? I am aggravated with these spools. My son cut the grass yesterday in the evening and had no time to trim so there I went out this morning and I had to stop every 3 min and fix the thread because it comes out easily and ends even sooner. They need to come up with something better. I hope I can find something that does not drive me crazy!!!!
Try the middle.
@@netman88 Thanks. I will.
@@sophiahuber4756 i have the same issue, did this work? My line ends so quick and won’t feed me more..
My line will not come out automatically. I have to manually take line out every time its blunt. Which is 4/5 times each time I use. Its driving me mad. What am I doing wrong?
It happens sometimes
Mine always comes loose whatever line I use. Yesterday I re-threaded it eight times, then it came loose again. I shouted “FUUUUUCK”. Then decided to throw the strimmer across the garden.
Thanks brother
My line keeps getting swallowed, wondering what I am doing wrong
Thanks my dad left me to do the lawn and I though I broke it when it stoped cutting the weeds
The trimmer itself may be reasonable inexpensive but you pay through the nose for the replacement spools. In Canada, that three-pack costs $30 at Lowe's.
Try the generic spools, it's cheaper
@@netman88 Before ordering a new 3-pack from Lowe's, I decided to have a look and see what was available from Amazon. 8 spools for $16.49!!! Thanks for your advice.
I have this trimmer but everytime i put the line in it doesn’t stop feeding. How do I fix this
Same!!! It even hit my ankle
Thanks dude. Great explanation.
Glad it helped!
Hey there! Do you know how to replace the weed eater spool cutter blade? The small piece that cuts the line has broken off. I likely can rig up something home made, but if there is a part.... :)
Nope
Not all heroes wear capes
tell me this though? how do I extend the wire longer when needed? Do I have to take it all out and manually pull the wire longer? Thanks!
Should be able to just click the (white button) to make it extend or get more line.
@@netman88 white button?? I only have like yours two orange buttons...
@@katsadventures7027 See here at 00:31 czcams.com/video/cyUQAaDqnj8/video.html (The button is actually gray).
I did everything exactly as you did, yet whenever I use it the line gets bigger and bigger……..I don’t know what I’m doing wrong
I’m having this same exact issue, have you figured out what the solution is?
The line lenght outside the old spool before replacement is very short. Is that the max it feeds at a time?
It works well for me.
Me too! Did you figure out how to increase the length of your line?
Same trimmer but my line will not stay tight. Feeds out automatically and as soon as I turn it on I have string wrapped around
Some replacement strings unfortunately are like that in quality.
Hi Netman, is it still running good with you. I am planning to buy one. pls let me know if you still advise to buy it
Still good. Good for small jobs, not for commercial jobs
@@netman88 Thanks soo much for your reply)) good day))
I have a Black and Decker Grasshog cord trimmer and It doesnt have a whole lot of power. I took it apart and cleaned all the grass and stuff wrapped around it but I still don't have a whole lot of power. Anyone with any tips on how to save it pls help.
I have the same one before I purchased the cordless one. The old corded one was pretty bad. I didn't even want to sell it given it's trash. Probably will donate or recycle it.
How does it know when to feed?
When the line is too short to cut the grass.
It don't work good...
I thought the string had to be slotted through the slat but guess not.... clears up this error for me
ditto. over thinking is a danger to myself and society
Voglio sapere come cambiare la testina al taglia bordi Black+ Decker
the orange top of the spool head broke do you have to buy the complete spool head to get the orange top
I would try to contact Black and Decker if they sell the orange top.
The orange top can be purchased separately in store or online. Make sure you have head part number, or at least know the trimmer model number.
0:26 out of line ?? How can I tell?
How do you get more string out!?
There's a manual line feed button on the handle.
Bought replacement spool at hardware store doesn't fit have to be specific #AF-100 fits my black and decker .
Same trimmer model?
Se usi un solo filo ti sbilancia la rotazione, devi usare 2 fili non uno solo perché il peso del filo da una parte con velocità periferica molto elevata ti sbilancia tutto
This video literally could have been 20-30 seconds with the same content lol. I just needed to remind myself which way the spool goes in
Thanks! 👍
hi Joe, I needed all 3 minutes...lol. I'm a beginner. 😊
My line always goes back into the hole and idk why. Anyone know?
Is there still line left?
@@netman88 yes then I have to open it and put the line back in through the hole.
something is wrong, because i did the same thing; however, it start s chewing up the line toi fast and the whole line was gone with in 10 minutes.
Did you press the line button all the time when using?
My string keeps bursting every foot I cut. Any suggestions?
Probably that brand of string not good. Try another brand.
@@netman88 thanks, but every type I use bursts
I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use czcams.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.
Agreed!
They all unwind while trying to replace the spool. Drive me nuts!
I have the same model and came with a 2.5ah battery...going on 5 yrs now no issues...but would suggest using b&d line for this trimmer or else auto feed wont work as it should...great little trimmer.
Thanks for sharing
Yeah, my spool doesn't "just pop out".
Thanks a bunch!!! You made it look easy peasy!!!
It is very easy - it took me 5 minuted to do it and I have two left hands.
The string get loss
You do know that you can restring the spool, right? Save a lot of money.
I need a video on that!
The problem I have is that my line keeps breaking.
Cheap Line, try another brand.
@@netman88 What some good ones that you recommend ?
Black and decker trimmer line replacement
Can you not just re string it?
Yes, you can do that if you know where to get the strings for cheap. The wheels were cheap.
@@netman88 OK, thanks. Home depot has it for $10 with 275 ft.
Real men restring the spool out of a bulk roll of line.
So people are too lazy to wind their own lines now???😅
Time
Bro you bought the damm precargues one lmao I wanna know how to add the line to the damm thing
