In this video I talk about how to use the BLACK+DECKER String Trimmer with Auto Feed, Electric, 6.5-Amp, 14-Inch (BESTA510). This is the Corded model. As of now, it is one of the best selling corded grass string trimmer & edger combos on Amazon. I talk about how it looks coming out of the box, how to put it together, the power, the edging feature, how to shorten or extend the shaft, how to replace the string trimming line, why you may want to get a corded electric model over a battery powered or gas model and whether I would recommend this myself. I also show it in use on my front walkway and how it does cutting tall grass and weeds.

GREAT VIDEO...WELL COVERED
Thanks, I appreciate you letting me know! 😊
Nice video, thanks. Had the B+D 18V 2.0Ah 28cm AFS grass trimmer. It served me well for a few years. Needed more power with battery so moved on to another brand, but no one can beat B+D in its affordable gardening tools. They give good usable products for the price.
Great, thanks for letting us know about your experience with your Black & Decker grass trimmer :)
What brand are you using now?
@@jamminjamy I’m now using a Stiga GT 500e 48v. Works great but different price range.
Cool, interesting brand. I haven't seen that around too much. Thanks for letting us know!
My first weed trimmer was Black and Decker and I still have it. My new weed trimmer has more power and I can control the line easier so for trimming it is the one I use but it doesn't have that wheel for edging so I use the B&D for edging. This weed trimmer looks to be a good entry level model I would recomend going with a battery powered weed trimmer than a corded one, it isn't impossible to accidently get the trimmer line to come into contact with the extension cord.
Thanks for your advice. What brand is your new weed trimmer?
@@jamminjamy My trimmer is the 40v brushless Ryobi trimmer. My blower, hedge trimmer, lawn mower is Ryobi so I can use the same battery.
Cool, thanks for letting us know. Yeah, I like the Ryobi brand too.
I juste buy one exactly lire this one and it work great and power full enougth for my needs
Good to hear thanks for letting us know!
Thanks Alot my brother 🤞🏾🙌🏾💪🏾👍🏾👍🏾👋🏾🤜🏾💯🤛🏾
Any time, thanks for the note! Do you have one of these string trimmers?
Do you know how to troubleshoot for line that doesn't stop coming out?
Hmmm, I haven't heard of that before but make sure the spool is seated properly and the right side of it is facing up.
Your video is so far the complete guide but the guard doesn’t go all the way so I put the screw on the big hole instead of the hole where it’s suppose to go, I think it will be ok? Thanks for your instruction👍
The guard should snap into place. You may need to give it a couple firm taps with your palm... you can kind of see me doing it in the video here: czcams.com/video/UmExslRmIPc/video.htmlsi=gZacHCj0KKROm4Qa&t=71
The line feed is horrible.
Going back to Amazon.
Maybe mine is garbage.
Buy quality not block or craftsman. I had horrible experience with them.
Thanks for the note did you use the pre-wound spools or did you wind the spools yourself?
It looks like it really doesn’t cut
You can see the cutting in action at the end of the video here, it cuts pretty well. It may not look like it at times since the guard pushes the taller grass away before it gets cut: czcams.com/video/UmExslRmIPc/video.htmlsi=EEVL_uDDviwd4zWK&t=506
The battery is horrible probably used it no more than 8 times and charger is blinking red, bad battery, wtf
This one I did a review on is a corded version and doesn't have a battery. Does yours look similar to this?
We had the older version of this model years ago and it died within a year. Black and decker are the craftsman of cheaper tools. Somehow worse than craftsman.
Thanks for letting us know of your experience with the older model. This performed well with my testing but it's hard to tell what the longevity will be. The reviews on Amazon have been mostly positive. I appreciate you leaving a comment. What brand do you use right now? And is it a corded model, battery powered, or gas?
