It's interesting that the real Sephiroth gets no line of dialogue in this game, besides flashbacks in Nibelheim.
The real Sephiroth's consciousness merged with Jenova's in the lifestream, and he's able to project himself through Jenova's projection of himself. So TECHNICALLY the real Sephiroth speaks through that. While his physical, original body isn't there, he's still there mentally.
Didn't the real Sephiroth ask cloud who he was? Like he didn't recognize him?
@@zacryan7651 That was Jenova. The real Sephiroth is in the North Crater dormant the entire game until you fight him at the very end.
Actually, after the whirlwind maze, in the northern crave, just before Cloud really loses it and gives the black materia to the real Sephiroth encrusted in materia, there is some brief dialogue written in red, on a white screen, that says "Come on, the black materia..." I'm pretty sure it's Sephiroth mentally speaking to Cloud.
And then we have Remake Sephiroth who doesn’t stfu lol
"He is still... here"
"He's.. laughing.."
I played this game when I was a kid back in 2004. Who thought I would feel the same way after watching it now... I'm glad there still people playing it.
Best game ever imo.
This here my friends is one of the most historical final bosses in the history of RPGs!

I know Safer Sephiroth is gonna be a nightmare to program for Part 3
I feel like the 8 casts, walking and running with you would probably be challenging, as person with a very very little knowledge and also suck at school on programming.
they better at least have us be able to skip his super nova

The promised land is the lifestream/afterlife which is the blood inside of the planet. The reason Cetra are able to go to the promised land is because they maintain their past human form in the lifestream. When people die they become part of the stream of collective consciousness. So when Cloud talks about meeting her there it’ll be when he passes away. Jump cut 500 years into the future the planet is still here, Nanaki has kids, and everyone else has returned to the planet in the lifestream.
If all life joins together as a ‘collective consciousness’, then is it really an afterlife? To me, that just sounds like everyone is completely dead.
@@edmarcamy yea it’s where memories, experiences, and souls come together when you die in the physical world.
Nanaki and Vincent are the only ones alive since Vincent is immortal (he never ages). This is mentioned in On the Way to Smile. Maybe the two of them will go to promise land one day together.
@edmarcamy In my mind it works as being able to be interconnected in one giant dynamic community. You are still you, but you can communicate thoughts, emotions and intentions on a much more intimate level with other beings in general, allowing a harmonious shared existence.
The original version of One Winged Angel still is the best one, chills everytime.
I hope he still says “Let’s mosey” in part 3
They already messed up a lot of the original dialogue. I'm not saying keep it the same, but keep it the same if you can't make it better lol. I doubt it'll happen.
@@NYCHeavyHitz212 well they did keep the, “I’ll cut ‘em off”, “I’ll rip ‘em off”, and “ I’ll smash ‘em”, so you never know

I didn’t learn about limit changes until the final battles. I was using Braver on the yellow orb Sephiroth when a friend laughed at me.

Curiously, if you don't uses inmediately the Omni-slash, Sephiroth will attack you, but he couldn't kill you. And this attack, will makes that Cloud automatically counter with a normal attack, leading to the defeat of Sephiroth.
Making this victory anti-climatic.
He takes exactly 31/32 of your health. It’s a magic attack and will never critical, so you don’t ever have to worry about dying to a critical hit.
But I think it’s anticlimactic because it’s meant to showcase Cloud’s growth in mental strength, as it’s supposedly a battle of wills. As well as to subvert expectations too I guess.
@@iam4026 Yeah. It would be even pathetic to see Cloud defeating Sephiroth with a normal attack, than the Omni-slash.
I am very embarrassed to say that this happened to me, and I thought it to be so anti-climatic, I re-did the boss fights

That Safer Sephiroth battle feels less epic without the Supernova attack going off.
They’d better have shirtless Sephiroth in Part 3.
For sure they will. And it’ll probably turn into a whole 1 on 1 boss fight not just omnislash and game over. With the whole multi world and Zack still existing past the life stream in the remake I’m sure cloud will have sync attacks with him during the fight just like Zack could use with cloud during his part of bizarro sephy in the remake.

I dont'know. Epic game but endng it too short and doesnt explain anything. I prefer FFIX style ending with some arcs closed and characters having happy moments actually! After FFIX there is a nice aftertaste. FFVII is great game, one of the best for itš time. But it did not age too well. But remake rises it to another level, im so happy there are 3 games instead of 1 and the world is so much espanded. Hopefully they will expand ending too.
@@Alexriga What do you mean by "doesn't explain anything" exactly? All the answers are there if you use a bit of critical thinking with the sub-context given to you. It was the first 3D Final Fantasy game and was very experimental for it's time, sure it hasn't aged well graphically but it's story still holds up as one of the greatest in gaming history of all times. The game doesn't hold your hand and give everything (story elements) away all at once like in Remake/Rebirth....it has more subtlety and leaves a lot for the player to figure out on their own, or to question. It still tells it's story very well without force-feeding you everything, it allows to digest and think on things.
@@commandervile394 sure but it lacks logic at times and drags mid game etc. still epic game, I prefer FF9 though :) Rebirth is awesome remake making everything better but it is just IMHO

I realise there’s never a proper 1v1 with Cloud and Sephiroth
The first time they conflict, Cloud was not SOLDIER enhanced while Sephiroth was injured
Throughout FF7, Sephiroth often acts through Jenova physically, and only personally faces them during the final boss. By next time, Cloud is accompanied by his party while Sephiroth is in his Bizzaro and Safer forms
Then in the 1v1 finale, Sephiroth has 1HP and is shirtless while Cloud can only Omnislash him.
In AC, Sephiroth uses Kadaj’s body to fight Cloud.
In a proper 1v1 Sephiroth would fold Cloud, honestly.
@@ChronoX720yeah, I’ve seen so many people say Cloud is stronger than Sephiroth just because he beat him in AC. But Cloud only did it because he caught Sephiroth off guard from his blades splitting and landed an Omnislash V5.
Not to mention, that was literally the only time he did any sort of damage to Sephiroth, and even then Sephiroth didn’t bleed nor was panting. It’s just that because Kadaj’s body sustained too much damage, then Sephiroth had to leave

nah, thats the planet's core, the only thing that was stopping Holy from activating was Sephiroth himself

I really wonder how they’re going to handle the end of the game in part 3 of the remake. Since Bizzaro was used in the end of part 2 I wonder if they’ll add multiple pieces of Jenova and then straight into Seifer sephy. I’m excited to see! And since Aerith exists in the life stream and can just world jump in there in remake maybe she’ll just show up for the final fight lol
Ah yes, Jenova's cabbage/pineapple form. Even back then I thought it looked kinda goofy.
So who was in control? Jenova? Sephiroth? Or both?
@@amuroray9115 Since Sephiroth was carrying Jenova's severed head when they were both flung into the lifestream, they merged consciousness. Which means their knowledge and ambitions/intentions were also combined, they shared a mutual goal to inflict mortal damage onto the planet and consume the ensuing energy to transform them into a God.
Technically, Jenova's cells were already in Sephiroth when he wasn't even born yet, but Sephiroth also shown to have an extremely strong-willed mind and was able to resist the effect of mako poisoning, which made him the basis for SOLDIER candidates. Because he was so strong-willed, he is able to resist Jenova's grasp on him and act independently.
So yes...both were in control, with one never superceding the other.

@@commandervile394I found it weird how the strongest form of Jenova is weaker than Safer Sephiroth, when the former is the latter’s source of strength.
Plus, safer Sephiroth is still before he absorbs the massive amount of Mako from his Meteor plan

22:53 you might has noticed the limit bar going up on its own. The limit bar is only suppose to go in retaliation to receiving damage. This means that Cloud is deliberately giving himself PTSD in order to destroy Sepharoth in one move.
The limit bar actually corresponds to anger, which taking damage does help to fill it up. But the final 1V1 battle is supposed to show Cloud’s built up anger against Sephiroth anyway

Well he’s shirtless in his Safer Sephiroth form too, and in the Materia crystal when you find his real body. Technically he probably shouldn’t be wearing pants, but you gotta keep that T rating. And yes he’s very hot.

@@cathygrandstaff1957 he shouldn't have any pants because if you look very closely when Cloud hands Sephiroth the black materia at the promised land, Sephiroth is actually decapitated from the waist down. Which is also why Safer Sephiroth has the angel leg things from the waist down.
1997 played as a teen a.d afterwards I replayed it several times!
Very special game to me since a kid and very first rpj, JRPG 2 ne exact! FF7 AMD FF9 ARE MY heart and soul! . Still have my soundtrack, my playstation console etc.!

Maybe it's the limit. They don't have conclusions... Like Fallout. Aerith joined the lifestream, Tifa married Cloud and runs a business, Barrett, etc etc etc

its horrific back in 97 when you finished the game you had a false sense the good guys have won but knowing what we know now this same Sephiroth you slayed here is alive and well and even more powerful than depicted here and we await part3 to see if we can end this sephiroth reign once and for all
