I've got a B-Mag identical to yours that I purchased new from Cabelas when they first came out from Savage that you couldn't shoot a 2-foot group at a hundred yards. I bought a Boyd's stock and put it on it, and after some trigger work, it now will shoot a 1 MOA group and sometimes under if there is no wind. I would have liked to see where you were hitting when you pulled your trigger.

Thanks for your input my friend. Was looking at getting one this coming weekend at cabellas. But the ammo is hard to find here in Canada.

I waited and waited and waited... I didn't see what you were shooting at. Lol. I've seen you shoot. I believe you when you say you hit your target.

The .17 Mach II came out two years after the HMR. Zeroed at 50 yds, Mach II is a squirrel brain buster (done it in a tree rat competition).

Looks like a variable power scope.

I started out with a fixed 4. I went to the 3X9 so I kept it set on 4. And run it up to 9 to glass. Then back to 4 for the shot.

Better off shooting a 17Hornet. Shoots farther, hits harder, shoots flater, can be reloaded, and is usually more accurate. Plus, you can find ammo for it. You can't find 17WSM ammo hardly anymore.

It's gettng to be a issue with the ammo. I just got some but it was a hard hunt.

@@esquad5406 Hornady 17 Hornet 20gr ammo is hard to find, but it is still out there. Only drawback is the cost. I pay around $25 a box of 20 rounds for a buck a shot. But I only shoot 10-12 rounds a month on average at crows, pigeons, raccoons, groundhog, coyote, ect. My CZ 527 American cost me $750 new, but is 1/4" moa rifle all day.

Do not buy one of these. They are horrible by design. The action screws are held to the receiver via the trigger assembly which is held on by a keyway .
