I’ve got 2 bmags 17wsm’s and coming from a guy that loves the 17HMR I can say the Bmag is a better cartridge in every way. Where I’m at they aren’t but about 1$ difference in prices.
CD Try the lead free ammo. To my surprise that one shot extremely well in two 17wsm heavy barrels. Originally had the skinny barrels and looked like a shotgun pattern. Sent them back to savage and they replaced them with heavy barrels and they’d shot much better but the lead free for some reason grouped the best
I have shot a fair bit of the 17WSM. My conclusion is the lots vary so much it’s ridiculous, run some over the chrono. The guys with the rimx actions make high claims of super accuracy, I won’t drop 2k to find out.

Some time back, bought the woman a "Cabelas special" Lady B-Mag! Came on a Boyds stock, with "pencil" barrel! Nice lookin little rifle! But grouped like 💩!! Then I see this YT video about bedding these actions! Night and day difference!🎯can cover group with a dime or smaller!😘
Hey CD! Did you have to do any altering to get that bolt knob to fit right? My bolt throw is way to high with the Glades armory one I put on mine. Probably gonna have to go back to the stock one if I can’t figure something out

Sure glad I bought a cooler full of 17 WSM ammo in all three brands 3 years ago.
Bought my first vortex scope 10 years ago put it on my ruger number 1 in 2506 shoots one hole groups at100 yards

To the best of my understanding, ALL 17WSM ammo is loaded by Winchester. Same as all 17 HMR is loaded by CCI.
Love my wsm bmag want a 17 hornet , gonna have to get a used one I guess!!!

My B-Mag 17 WSM shoots the 20 gn is a single hole. The 25's are more like 1 MOA.
The 17 is .172" in diameter, How small is that single hole?? Is that a 1 shot, a 3 shot, 5 or a 10 shot group?
@@cavedweller1959 I have had a few 5 shot groups that look like my smallest finger nail. Maybe 0.35" in total at 100 yards, or 0.18 MOA.
20 grain American eagle works best in my 17 wsm. It’s a volquartsen
Try without that extension and see if it groups better

It's a .22 rimfire, Tango by Mack Bros. Sturgis SD. Also use them on the Hornets.

None, went together with no issues. With the scope/rings combo I have on it, the handle will hit the scope just a bit.
That barrel gets hot fast. By the fifth shot you will lose accuracy. Stand it up between strings.

have u tryed the hornady 25 grain? know they shoot well in the 17hmr? also do u reload your 17. or is it easier & cheaper just to buy factory ammo 🖒

No one ever said you could only have one, buy them both. But your right, WSM is kind of rare right now, least in my area anyway.

Same here. In the very few times I've seen it on ammo seek, it's been over $1 per round. It seems the manufacturers stopped making it altogether.
