  • The magical teaser trailer for the all-new live-action musical comedy “Disenchanted,” which premiered at the D23 Expo 2022 in the Anaheim Convention Center moments ago, is here! The eagerly-anticipated sequel to “Enchanted,” which reunites original cast members Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden and also stars Maya Rudolph, Gabriella Baldacchino, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jayma Mays, is directed by Adam Shankman and features new songs from Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. “Disenchanted” begins streaming November 24, exclusively on Disney+…just in time to brighten up the holiday season.
It has been 15 years since Giselle (Amy Adams) and Robert (Patrick Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.
“Disenchanted stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Gabriella Baldacchino, with Idina Menzel and James Marsden. Directed by Adam Shankman from a screenplay by Brigitte Hales and a story by J. David Stem & David N. Weiss and Richard LaGravenese, “Disenchanted” is produced by Barry Josephson, Barry Sonnenfeld, and Amy Adams, with Jo Burn, Sunil Perkash, and Adam Shankman serving as executive producers. The movie features songs with music by 8-time Oscar®-winning composer Alan Menken and lyrics by three-time Oscar-winning lyricist Stephen Schwartz, whose work on “Enchanted” garnered three Academy Award® nominations and a score by Alan Menken.
Disney’s “Disenchanted” begins streaming November 24, 2022, only on Disney+.

My guess, and what it looks like, is that Giselle's wish is going to make people act like their achetypes, and since she's a step mother, she's going to get overtaken by random bouts of evilness to Morgan. Which I think would be kind of cool, of course.

I think the concept is genius! The fact that Giselle would wish for a fairytale life, however, the story warping her into a villain, because she's a step mother and step mothers in fairytales are evil is pretty good concept and the song used for the trailer is very enchanting!

Ok but this actually looks good. It looks like one of the first Disney sequels I’ve seen in a while that exists purely because they’ve thought of an interesting way to continue the story instead of just because of hype and money.

I like the twist along with how it’s evident she’s fighting with herself. There’s a lot being played with and a lot of fun with the story I’m excited for it

I think the thing that is going to make this movie great is the fact that they have the exact same cast. So many sequels have a completely different cast and it’s never the same. The nostalgia that this trailer gave me is insane. I’m so excited!

i love the tone where it goes from soft princess vibes when she said "i wish for fairytale life and its all gone terribly wrong" to powerfull evil villain "or terribly right" really quick, its just so mezmerizing that she can pull of both concept.

I love how Giselle’s voice changes! Amy Adams is a brilliant actress! I’m loving this already, and the concept is everything!

The tonal switch from "I wished for a fairy-tale life and it's all gone terribly wrong...or terribly right!" was perfection. We're gonna see some fun range from Amy Adams it seems

I was seven when the first movie came out and found the songs to be catchy. Now in my 20s it feels nice to reconnect to that fun musical side of my childhood once more. Hopefully i am not the only one who feels the nostalgia. Keep it up Disney 👍😊

I think the concept is excellent. The idea of someone as good natured as Giselle turning into the evil stepmother is ingenious. I suspect the heart of this film will revolve around the estrangement and reconnection between Giselle and her step daughter.

I can’t believe the original came out 15 years ago. The first movie is my favourite and I definitely haven’t felt such joy to see a new movie like this in such a long time! So excited for this 🥺

I love that this film touches on Giselle and Robert after 10 years. It's clear Giselle has matured since then. But I will be having high expectations as the first movie was really good! I'm glad the main cast chose to come back for this more than 10 years later.

I have never been so excited for a sequel before, this is such a pleasant surprise! I was obsessed with Enchanted - watched it countless times and played the soundtrack on an infinite loop.
