I'm glad that they were able to include Rachel Covey, AKA the original Morgan, in a small role as a girl from Monrolasia who reminds Giselle that there's a festival in town that night.
That was pretty cool. A neat little cameo.

Can we all agree that the actress who played Morgan, Gabriella Baldachinno, was fantastic as Morgan? She did a great, wonderful job for her first film.

Ok, I legitimately thought that she was the same actress from the first movie...
But I agree, she was the standout in this film, I loved her "I want song"
I noticed that Giselle got more songs in Disenchanted and her voice is much stronger than in the first movie
I'm so impressed that no matter how evil Giselle got, she NEVER faltered from using manners. Even when squaring up against Malvina, she says "Oh yes... Please...."
Like..... that's just so amazingly funny to me that good Giselle made sure Stepmother used her manners XD

I really enjoyed Disenchanted, i mean i didn't think it was as good as the first one but it was really fun to watch especially because of the songs and it was such a treat to see the actors reprise their roles after a decade and a half since the first movie came out.

Maybe it's because when I rewatched it as an adult, I was with the wrong crowd (they thought it was super annoying) -- but Disenchanted seems a lot more bearable and has a lot of nice musical numbers.
For me it wasn't as good as the original largely because of the music & the musical numbers. The songs simply weren't as memorable, nor were the musical numbers.
@@velky_reeds No it's not that; the original has a more clear plot and brings something new to the princess trope. This movie could've offered so much but sticked to a story that we've seen hundreds of times, with many unnecessary charactes. It was enjoyable but not memorable
Not only they gave Idina Menzel a singing number, they had to reference Frozen with that "Let it grow, let it glow" bit. Took me a second to realize she wasn't actually saying "let it go" 😂

Yes! I believe there’s also a reference to her role as Elphaba in Wicked in the same song. Something about a flying on a broomstick? I can’t remember the exact lyric haha

Plus there are magical images swirling around her just like in, “Into the Unknown.”

I absolutely love the positivity on the stepmother relationship! Family is so much more than what’s physical. It’s even more powerful and beautiful when we mentally/emotionally choose to share our love. 🥰
I remember watching Enchanted in 6th grade for a field trip. My home room teacher has since passed away so hearing that Disenchanted was on Disney+, it felt like my teacher who also had a good impact for many other students was still around 😢
In my opinion, "Perfect" is the best "I want" song Disney has made since How Far I'll go. Gabriella did an amazing job!
The most beautiful callback is right at the end when Robert and Giselle look at each other and start to dance to the ending song, it's exactly the same dance they do at the ball in Enchanted. Loved how far they've come and what a sweet relationship those two have
It was really a worthy sequel! And the animation hasn't even changed for the last 15 years! Disney really needs to bring back this classic artstyle!
Disenchanted was a pretty awesome sequel. I picked up on most of these, except the first actress who played Morgan also having a cameo. That's pretty cool!
What I really loved from the Disenchanted movie was the fact that the soundtrack really made you feel that you were in a fairy tale. Also, the beautiful moral of the movie which was that even though a woman didn't give you birth, if she raised you, she is your mom. I loved it.
I do love Enchanted I love Disenchanted just as much so MAGICAL!!!
The memory tree is probably inspired by the Brothers Grimm Cinderella version because in this tale, Cinderella is planting a tree on the mother's grave and she's asking the tree for a dress (for the ball), and there is no fairy godmother, but a bird on the tree brings her the dress, and the Cinderella dress transformation in the movie is happening at the restored memory tree in Andalasia.
I was 8 years old when I watched Enchanted. Both movies are magical
The villian duet between Amy and Maya was so fun. I enjoyed watching this pretty much as I did Enchanted.
It wasn't as good as the first but seeing Amy Adams as Giselle aswell as her singing was a breath of fresh air, enough to keep me entertained from start to finish. Sad how wasted James Marsden was in this movie, glad that they gave Idina Menzel a song
Seeing the original cast gain was more than enough sit through this meh film.
Idina Menzel literally plays two beloved Disney Queens, not only princess, Queens... That's a record I think
Fun facts :7:49 the two women beside Giselle are dressed as snow white and Tiana .
In the movie there are singing food machines, it's a reference to beauty and the beast.
When Morgan sings, a woman behind her splashes the water, it's a reference to the little mermaid.
Later on you'll see the two sidekicks of the evil queen are wearing the dresses of two stepsisters in Cinderella.
When Giselle wakes up after her wish she is wearing a dress that resembles her dress in that's how you know song.
And when Indina sings love power, magical memories are twinkling around them and it's a reference to into the unknown in frozen 2 where Elsa sing with her memories.
There's much from Cinderella III (the stepmother gets the magical wand) and this movie had been released the same year as Enchanted.
And there are many Cinderella references. Of course. It was made for Giselle as actual stepmother (;

i have 5 questions 1 how did Giselle and Robert get married and had Sofia 2 how did Nancy and Edward found that wand from Andalasia that made Giselle and Malvina evil Robert like Edward and Morgan Sofia and everyone in Monroeville into fairytale characters 3 why didnt Robert not tell Morgan that Nancy had issues with him cheating on her with Giselle or for leaving him for Edward 4 did Nancy and Edward ever had kids of their own 5 whatever happened to Nathaniel from Enchanted after he had become a book selling author by signing books for people
The villain song with the two villains was amazing I watch the movie three times already just for that song. Great job
I LOVE the original enchanted. Was disenchanted as good as the first? No. No sequel made 15 years after the first is never going to be as good lol. But I thought disenchanted was really good
I also enjoyed how the consumed in monroe-lasia were like other Disney characters. Morgan had Cinderella's peasant dress and Malvina's son it's dressed like Gaston
Of course, rarely anything beat the original, but Disenchanted did a good job... I enjoyed it.
Did not love this one as much, but seeing how the first movie was a love letter to Disney its kinda cool that Giselle not only got a fairytale life, but a real Disney fairytale life.

Disenchanted was a fantastic sequel. The first film Enchanted has always been one of my favorites.

There are even ones in the first movie itself-edward catching giselle when she falls and then robert catching her.
Since Enchanted was worthy of making a sequel I wish Disney would figure out a way to make Giselle an official Disney Princess. Not wanting to pay Amy Adams for using her likeness rings hollow for what Disney has shelled out for it’s Marvel and Star Wars acquisitions and what it charges to visit its parks.

I have to say, while I'm not sure that Disenchanted is better than the OG Enchanted, it was more than a worthy sequel. Just a shame it wasn't released in theaters.
It was a much better Disney+ sequel than Hocus Pocus 2. And it was certainly waaaaay better than the Pinocchio remake.
They totally should have made "the evil stepmother" push Morgan down the well instead of Giselle.

Thought the idea was a lot like Wandavision too. With her kind of brainwashing the town or at least I think that’s what happened. Dont know how Malvina even knew Giselle had a wand at all to begin with. Just cause she was Queen didn’t mean that she knew about people’s personal lives. Still not really clear on that. I really wanted to like it but that transition from reality to the wish getting granted was ROUGH. Plus, the fact that it started out with you knowing everything was going to be ok just kind of took away some of the expense when everything was getting destroyed.

Was I the only one who thought Malvina Monroe was Morgan's Mom? It would be an interesting storyline
I wish we got see Morgan’s birth mom/Robert’s first wife. It would’ve been interesting to see her find out about how Robert moved on with Giselle and what she’s like. That she doesn’t exactly have the happy ending she wanted since she left.
Probably a bit unrelated, but I'm very glad that Amy Adams has a more realistic figure in Disenchanted than she did in Enchanted.
That’s exactly the point of the movie. An animated girl becoming a real person.
