A lot of the revenue came before most people knew this movie was a complete failure for humanity.
I didn’t expect this movie to turnout this good as it was a childhood memory. However, Barbie not only delivered a life lesson but took a different angle to showcase that a simple concept could be scripted so brilliantly.
Barbie didn’t gave life lesson.. movie didn’t show equality. It showed that girls get her control back. Before women didn’t respect men, later same. Even in last she left Ken after using him.. after making him fool.

Barbie's world mirrors the patriarchal world we live in to parody what women have to go through living in a man's world.. and the Ken's show you just how oppressed they are as a "flipped" reflection of this. The movie also shows you the unfair standards that men have to live up to in this patriarchy, and how it hurts them. In the end, Barbie encourages Ken to embrace his individuality and discover that he's enough just as he is. He doesn't need Barbie to be someone. Then she leaves to discover who *she* is as a "real" person living in the real world. So she may have used Ken as a byproduct of her matriarchal world, but by the end she knows it wasn't right and he has to find his own way.

The Barbie movie looks like my daughter's playroom. When she got to be the age to REALLY play with Barbie, she inherited ALL the Dreamhouses from my parent's attic. My mom's, my two, my sisters two, all the assorted vehicles and pools and stables and offices and salons and ice cream shoppe stands and restaurants, that had been carefully packed away from our childhoods. And then when my sister-in-law's mom downsized her house, we also got my sister-in-law's 2 dream houses, vet center, beach house, party bus, and RV camper. So basically, my kid didn't just get a dream house, she got a whole neighborhood! We ended up having to move all her other toys to the living room, because the playroom was entirely taken over by BarbieLand and also a legacy collection of Transformers. 🤣🤣🤣

"Humans only have one ending, ideas live forever" is such an incredible line, wow. Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach can sure write a great script, and I don't think this'll be any different. It looks fantastic. The art direction is incredible.
I saw an interview with Margot Robbie where she said that Barbie was being a doctor or lawyer or astronaut at a time when women couldnt even have credit cards and that the play those little girls had with Barbie allowed them to believe that they could be all these things and helped pave the way for all of us. I think that’s going to be a big theme of the movie. Im excited to see it ❤

You must have been really baked. Just about everyone in the country went to see it because there's nothing but trash out and people gotta watch something, plus it was marketed on Tik Tok and everyone has FOMO, but I have not heard a single person in real life say, "GD that was an amazing movie." Most of the people I know walked out of it before the end, it was embarrassingly bad, especially with a 42-year-old man playing Ken.

I actually used the stairs EVERY single time.but then again i also used to say that mickey mouse was a liar and he wasnt really waiting for my answer(i used to write the correct answer on a register and hide it from the screen to show my family that mickey mouse isnt actually talking to me.) i was in kindergarten when i did this😂

I'm clearly not the target audience for this movie, but I'm happy this movie exists. I am so tired of heartless remakes, reboots, reimaginings, sequels, prequels, etc, so it's refreshing to see people doing original things once again.
I'm just happy that there aren't any sudden make out scenes out of nowhere.

Movies shouldn't have "target audiences", especially none of a particular race or gender. If I ever make films, they will be for everyone to enjoy (that is, if they're old enough).
@Jacob Schiller you need a target audience so you can market it better, but good films can be appreciated by everyone. Perfect example Teen Titans and the Lego Movie.
