  • DP is 15 years old and complains of occasional headaches and she is sensitive to bright lights. She was referred to our office by her eye doctor and her physician. Her mother states that she has “a bit of a lazy eye”. She has difficulty with Math, ELA, and writing. These problems began when she started school and have persisted. She becomes frustrated very easily and show signs of Eye Teaming Problems. She tends to cover or close one eye when reading. She complains of headaches and is inattentive. She has poor reading comprehension. She is often tired at the end of the day and tends to hold things very closely. She has to use finger or guide to keep her place and tends to skip lines and words often. She mistakes words with similar beginnings, and has trouble learning basic math concepts of size and magnitude. She has trouble copying from board to book and erases excessively. She seems to know material but does poorly on written tests
She has now completed the first part of Vision Therapy and finds that she is now getting better at Math, writing, and writing class notes. She is better able to understand more with less eye strain and fewer headaches. Her mother notes that she is into reading now and always with a book in her hand! She is better at expressing herself, has a longer attention span, and is overall better academically.
We are so proud of DP, and so happy that we have been able to help her. This will help with self-esteem and confidence.
