    I love the Vin&Co wooden puzzles. They're relatively cheap, look good on the shelf, and usually aren't too difficult or too easy to solve.

    It’s a little disappointing when something that complicated comes apart in only 4 identical pieces. Only a challenge for someone who didn’t see it assembled.

    • @ObsessiveGeek
      @ObsessiveGeek Před 3 měsíci +5

      Essentially the puzzle here is creating confusion as to where one piece begins and another ends, this could stump someone if they don’t focus on each area to find that single sweet spot the four sections come apart.
      Seems quite satisfying even though relatively simple once you know the solution.

      I mean the packing puzzle seems to be intended to follow the pattern on the container mostly, so he mightve just found an alternate method not implied by the pattern

    More pieces for the first one will be great, too simple with only 4 pieces. No checkerboard pattern for the second, it's not looking right but never know with the puzzle designers.

      I think most people would assume the checkerboard pattern is the solved state. The pattern on the frame certainly suggest that. I did rewind the video to see that is how it came but i think it sucks.

    • @ObsessiveGeek
      @ObsessiveGeek Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@Patterntrickwhen it comes to puzzles the last thing anyone should do is assume.
      Unless specifically stated there’s no implied design rule and therefore the solution Mr. Puzzle arrived at IS legitimate.
      It may not be the intended solution but it is still a solution nevertheless.
      That said he is incorrect in his statement “there doesn’t seem to be a logical method to solving” the design in this case does indicate a logical method.

    • @Charlesb88
      @Charlesb88 Před 3 měsíci +1

      The pattern at the end is very close to the pattern seen at the beginning when it’s first taken out of the box with two key differences. As seen when first taken out of box: First, the puzzle frame needs to be rotated 90 degrees left or right. Second, the bottom row had three triangles going across and the top row had a horizontal hourglass on the left and a vertical hourglass on the right. So if the goal was to match the design as how it came out of the box in the first place then he didn’t properly solve the puzzle. If it is to have a logical matching pattern across both rows then it was intentionally wrong out of the box. But if the goal is simply to fit all the pieces inside the frame in any pattern then there is more than one way to solve puzzle as he demonstrated.
      There was a folded card include with the puzzle but we don’t see or hear what it said instruction-wise, if anything, so maybe his solution was perfectly legitimate.

  • @qv81
    @qv81 Před 3 měsíci +1

    The second puzzle rubs me the wrong way. I would expect it to be checker pattern, symmetrical. It looks wrong. I know it is like this in the manufacturers picture, which only makes me wonder even more why they went for this design.

    • @ObsessiveGeek
      @ObsessiveGeek Před 3 měsíci +1

      It actually does create a checked pattern, there’s only a single section of four triangles that are misaligned…i would be curious if there’s a way make all the sections align correctly or if it’s a manufacturing error that hasn’t been flagged.

    • @qv81
      @qv81 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@ObsessiveGeek That s my point, it is misaligned and it is not a mistake, because the picture on the box shows the same solved state. Its like a grain of sand in a shoe, but for my brain.

    • @ObsessiveGeek
      @ObsessiveGeek Před 3 měsíci

      @@qv81 it absolutely could be a mistake they simply didn’t correct, especially as I say the rest DOES align to a checked pattern.
      It seems strange that one section being is off is an intentional design.
