What a puzzle! 🤓😅
Thanks! You solved it pretty fast :)
The sliders are probably aluminum. Stainless steel is magnetic.
@@teslastellar stainless can be very slightly magnetic, but much less so than alloy steel. The pins and parts we didn’t want to be affected by magnetism are custom cut from brass rod stock 🙂👍
I have always said I like watching you solve puzzles. The reason that I absolutely love your channel and I have said this before is your ability to draw out and explain in detail the puzzles and make it easy to understand. Thank you. ❤️😀👍
Thanks a lot! As I understood from Eric my understanding of the mechanism is exactly right. 😊👍
@@Mr.Puzzle Mr Puzzle. Bitte helfen Sie mir.
Steel penny...! Nice! During WWII copper was in such demand that pennies were made of steel for a few mintings. Great puzzle, love the sequential ones so much! EDIT after watching end of reassembly: Damn, that is one diabolical mechanism!!
It initially looked like one of those one-trick puzzles. That is one complicated mechanism.
2:57 you only need to project / bool the shapes onto three sides of a cube, then you will get a 3d model which fits perfectly through all three holes.
"then you will get a 3d model which fits perfectly through all three holes." Jake Peralta would answer "title of your se*tape" :D
It's a good day when Mr puzzle posts a video
😁✌️
@@Mr.Puzzle🧩
That’s a steel penny. Those are pretty rare. They were made during WW2
I noticed that, should be a 1943 penny, steel due to copper shortage during the war. It didn't seem to come into play with the magnets but as you said a rare coin to put into the puzzle without a reason.
@@misfittech7743 Yup, they're '43 pennies. While uncommon, they aren't super rare; I think we paid around $20 per roll of 50 coins. The original idea for the puzzle was one where you needed to manipulate the penny with a magnet.
One of the most intricate puzzles
Excellent puzzle. Congrats to Mr. puzzle for the solve, and cubicdissection for the puzzle. Brilliant mechanisms and solving twists. Kind of like the slight of hand in a magic show illusion, but even better without the magician.
I would have cracked open a bottle to start solving...and used this as a super thick beer mat.
Great solve Mr P.
Your attention to detail and problems solving is amazing! I love the excitement you have when solving it. Makes it so fun and satisfying to watch! Well done keep it up! Love from Morocco 🇲🇦
Pure zen to watch you solving the puzzle
wholesome reactions in this vid. what a journey.
😁👍
What a cool puzzle, thanks for showing it to me Mr P!!
Welcome, glad you like the video.
2:22 - I would call it "tube". It is a short tube, but the principle of the form is fulfilled.
The biggest question is...who is the genius? The one who solves the puzzle or the one who creates the puzzle?
I'm fairly new when it comes to collecting puzzles.Ive bought a few of the master of lego puzzle boxs,Cheat3's puzzles off Etsy,Benno de Grote's glass maze, some Hanayama puzzles. Some stuff from Puzzle Masters..Now I want to buy ever Eric Fuller puzzle.Something about this guy's puzzle screams awesomeness..
That Benno De Groot guy is pretty ingenious... he got me into the idea of creating puzzles... its hard af tho...
I know the name! 🙋🏼♂️ it’s “tip-of-a-screwdriver”
Lol, yeah, Flathead.
My compliments sir, on your patience. That, I suspect is the main reason for your success.
A great little movie, a great little puzzle and a great puzzle solver.
Well Done...
Thanks a lot!
Looks like there is history here. That is a “steel” penny or cent … worth $0.01. They were made only during WWII (1943) to save copper. Do the magnets work on the steel penny? …. I just read up and these are the only magnetic (regular-issue) coin from our country. Very nice. And just saw Dominic’s post. Also nice.
The Best Puzzle of 2022 - My pregnant wife's mood at any given moment
😂
I agree totally! This puzzle is genius, and I had fun seeing how its mechanisms work!
That penny is magnetic
I believe the all fitting piece is a polyhedron in wedge form.
wow that puzzle is crazy! You solved it pretty fast too!
Fantastic variety of mechanisms; wonderful puzzle!
me at the start: "pretty outrageous title. we're only 4 moths into the year. "
me half way though" wow, this has to be puzzle of t... oh right."
Definately will be looking for this puzzle, great content as always!
This is a cool little puzzle - great on the coffee table, challenging, pleasing to look at - good work 👍🏾
This one is crazy
Love the 3 shapes geometry puzzle board. Very cool both of them.
And that my friends is how a square peg fits into a round hole. Lol.
The mechanism of this amazing puzzle is absolutely ingenious.
i loovve the meltdowns you have during the process it's soo fun haha
Can't do anything agains it. It just happens. :P
@@Mr.Puzzle haha and i love the passion u shows it's contagious so keep it going!!
I think this puzzle deserves a 5/5 rating. It's terrific. If tomorrow produces an even trickier puzzle, well, that should receive 5/5, too.
It wouldn't make this one any less deserving, or warrant reducing its score to 4/5, or devalue the rating system by applying the Maximum Difficulty score too freely.
Surely there's room for all kinds of excellence; there needn't be just one example of it. 😁
the second shape puzzle you showed us around 3:00 is so much easier than the first one. I solved that instantly.
I already knew that a circle would be the thickness of one of the lines on the plus, while the square would be the thickness of the other line.
Stainless steel is composed of Iron, which is magnetic, making stainless steel magnetic too.
It actually depends on it's microstructure which can be influenced by the cooling process. There are also Stainless steel Types that are magnetic but most of them are not.
Omg, awesome, thanks for the detailed explanation, such an intricate mechanism ..... it looked like a 10 minute puzzle for you, max... 👏
Thanks a lot 🙏😁
That 4th shape is the end of a straight screwdriver lol.
😁👍
ok. that was clever
I believe I know the geometry of the shape for the second shape puzzle it's a circle put through a square so from the top it looks like a plus from the side a square and if rotated 90⁰ it's a circle am I right???
The hinged section on mine is very tricky to slide out.
Interestingly it does not fully come out like yours does- I wonder if they changed the design on later models.
Great explanation, couldn't get it during the last drop.... let's see if I can get it this month :)
Good luck! 🤞
I really liked this one. 😄
2:50 So...top-of-lipstick shape can fit in any of the three ;)
Smart puzzle 5+ puzzle...
YES! You got the prisoner who steels out, but can you get the copper out of the pennytentury too?
I don't think so but I'll try again.
Hadn't been on this channel for a long while. Sounds like a different person :)
That's a awesome puzzle
It's a 1943 steel penny. The US mint made them of steel because copper was needed for the war effort. The copper penny could be from any time. Swapping the two pennies is a clever subterfuge. Steel is magnetic, copper isn't. (Unless you want to quibble.)
I'm not really sure what point you are making about steel being magnetic and copper not. Was it in reference to Mr P commenting about the pins being made of stainless steel therefore not magnetic? Because stainless steel Isn't magnetic.
Wheat penny, nice touch
The "without freeplay" was an important detail, cause I was thinking in the Short video that ANY shape can go through all three holes if they are small enough lol
That's why I showed it again. Sorry for the confusion!
@@Mr.Puzzle np, Great video Mr. Puzzle!!
First thing I thought was "if I made that, the bolts would be fake". It's nice to be affirmed.
Stainless steel still has a slight magnetic pull used to recycle metal
I prefer the simplicity of something like Three Cubes - that is a great value little puzzle once you know the "trick" :)
Do you also know 4 and 5 cubes?
Very cool! What a great design! A great idea to put in a silver wheat back penny, to easily see that you're dealing with two different coins! I think it would be fun to really mess with the solvers' heads and use two brand new pennies of the same year and flip one over. P.S. You may want to check the value of that wheat back.
The answer to the next chalange would look like a cross schrewdriver head!
What shape can fit through all three holes?
A smaller shape. Any of those... but smaller.
btw, I have noticed you have not done the Hanayama Padlock. I got it apart, but reassembly was out of the question, so I took a hammer to the damn bedeviled contraption. There are several solutions on YT, but you have not done one. Just sayin'.
This puzzle business is not my thing. I tried. But being aggravated as a hobby has never really been an avid interest of mine. I like to watch you and Chris do them, though.
He's discribing the solution so detailed and because of that it's funny a lot for me to think, that his understanding is wrong. :D
I'm imagining a spiraling "+" shape that could fit all 3 of those holes…
Its actually way easier.
Penny ten cherry lol
The 3 opening is easy to solve by realizing object is 3 dimensional. Thus 3 different views that do not see the other 2. Simply start with a cube and cut each (cookie cutter style) shape from the 3 views top, front, side. piece left is the answer shape.
Interesting geo(metric)-puzzle concept(s). You didn't show the parts and solution to the second geo-puzzle.
I know 😁
I like your videos. I will give you some advice from the Great Chris Ramsey. lol SPIN IT!!! SPIN IT!!! LOL
Not sure it that's a good advice. Well. in this case it was obvious. :)
1944 Steel Wheat Penny - $500,000.
1943 Copper Wheat Penny - $100,000.
1914 D Wheat Penny - $10,000.
1922 D Wheat Penny - $6,000.
1926 Wheat Penny - $4,000
That's USD not sure what it is in your currency
That's wheat back penny certain years an mints are worth money
Best puzzle of the year? That's quite a bold declaration with more than seven months left in the year.
So far, I think The Master said...
At state of today
2:45 shape would be a , chisel .
RELEASE the kra-coin !!!!!
A ?. What did the Canadian Copper penny have to do in the puzzle?
I love the 3-shape challenge with the cross shape! Really want to see the final answer! I think I have it, but I'd have to cut something out of foam to confirm it (and I don't have the foam or the tools for that).
Godel, Escher, Bach.
Enjoy! Solution will be revealed soon! 😘
that 3 shape one i was thinking "it cant be as easy as a flat head screw driver tip." and you showed the shape that looks like one. lol. also nice vid.
Are there two pennies? A steel one and a copper one? It looks like it in the video, and if this is true, the puzzle needs both pennies out to be solved?
What I don’t understand is, if you buy these, once you solve it, what do you do with it?
Is it possible to remove the other coin? 🤔
Awesome!
Also looks like a WW2 era steel U.S. penny.
Woooooooooooooooooookah
7mins in and I'm talking to the screen saying 'can't you see the tiny hole on the top?!'
How do people come up with these things!
So, no release for copper penny? Alas.
Not sure if it was intentional, but since your sleeves almost perfectly match the work area, a few shots kinda look like disembodied hands doing the work. This amused me.
8:30...I'd of set it on fire and picked coin out of the ashes 😁
"dont be rude with the puzzle"
WAIT?! WAS THAT A STEEL PENNY! Those are rare. 1940s rare.
They would call that shape a "chisel point" in the tool world.
Where do you get some of these puzzles?
See video description
Not a copper Penny. Interesting.

What about the other coin
just spin
It is a mr puzzleahedron.
Wait since when the table changed? I just noticed
changing the top layer from time to time.
"The Best Puzzle of 2022!" is probably not a very good title, since this is only April. What if a better one come later in the year?
WEll, until today it is. But there gonna be some great ones comming along soon.
Still a 4/5??
$199 for a puzzle you can solve in 5 minutes?
