How To Rebuild Yamaha V6-V4 2 Stroke Carburetor.

Here we are pulling apart a 2 stroke carburetor V6-V4 Yamaha cleaning it and showing some things I look for. Just a note before I put it back together I used compressed air and blew thru all the passages of the carburetor. Coming up next we are doing the same on a 2 stroke 90 Yamaha
This is the same carb used on a Yamaha 115 hp Yamaha 130 hp Yamaha 150 hp Yamaha 175 hp Yamaha 200 hp
And as an added bonus I show the page from Yamaha discontinued tune up book for the 150 hp specks including the carburetor pilot screws.

I check all the mixture adjustments screws if I did not have a manufacturer spec on them but it is not the gospel sometimes as the motors age and our fuel changes so will the tuning of the carburetor. As for the measurements on the float I have been doing this since 1990 and have never really seen a benefit of going that extreme on the float measurements I like to get them so that the bowel is full of fuel

Man this is my main question that no one is ever %1000 clear on...
On this model carb how many fuel mix screws need to be counted per revolution as they are taken out? Only 1 correct? Per carb? I usually put a digital caliper on the floats before removing them to get an exact reading on the measurement they sit at so I can match it when I put the bulb back in. Would you consider this good practice or waste of time?

It will help but a good cleaning solution with compressed air due the job most of the time.

Yes 2 parts distilled water and one part simple green. I use the lemon scent. On a side note my machine holds about 3 gallons and I will also put a small amount of dawn dish soap in the water, Never leave carburetors in the ultrasonic machine for more than 15 min it can damage the finish on the carburetor so keep an eye on them as you go.

Hey I have a late 80s Yamaha pro v 150 2 stroke I just replaced both fuel pumps after I replaced them it seems to be running super rich is there a way to lean is out so it won’t be smoking as much before I replaced the pumps it was barely smoking only when first started any ideas

Check your oil pump rod when the throttle is set adjust the oil rod until it is close to the sop pin
