    Frontier is the most under-rated truck in the segment. It's got the lowest crew cab 4x4 pricing, is the most dependable because it's been on the market for ages, has the most torque you can get in a gas engine in the segment, and it still looks like a truck.

    • @mecheng1993

      Jimmy John I'm sure the big 2 and Fiat have had more issues than the previous gen Titan, my ex boss Titan had over 300k miles on it and still drove like a brand new truck, there's a reason you will find Nissan and Toyota trucks in the most remote inhospitable and harshest environments on this planet and it's called reliability

This half French half Japanese company fooled me but i guarantee the rest of my life will be spent making sure others dont buy these trucks cause they are total shit trucks. • @NameNaameNameeNaamee
    @NameNaameNameeNaamee Před 7 lety +9

    I really don't get the crazyness concerning the Titan looking like an F150. It just doesn't. The F150 has a totally different body language. In my opinion, there are more similarities between an F150 and a RAM than between these two. The Titan looks like an offspring of the Frontier/older Titan, it bears all the typical nissan design aspects. So why this obession? It's not that Ford has the right to be "original". They didn't invent the car and they didn't invent the truck. The germans did. Why is everything with 4 wheels and a bed accused to look "like an F150"?

We ended up calling the salesman and they came to pick us up. Needless to say I bought an f150 5.0 3:73 gears. It pulls hard and runs well at 98k but damn has alot of shit been replaced under warranty. Front and rear diff rebuilds with new gears in the rear diff. New driveshaft. Multifunction switch. Water pump on the engine. RH exhaust manifold and gasket and my rear E locker makes a god awful banging sound when engaged but the dealer says it's normal? Lol

    It's pretty amazing that the Titan, while being so much larger and capable, gets better mileage than the Frontier, and is so much faster too! Under 8 sec 0-6 even at sea level is pretty impressive for such a large vehicle. I really like the interior of the big truck, though I agree on the styling. A new nose and the removal of the pep boys fender vents would really help it out. And man, that thing sounds good!
    As far as the little truck, while old, the VQ is my favorite part of that truck. I also really like the styling, but that interior! Buying one of those (or a late model Exterra) is like buying a brand new 2005 truck. And that gas mileage.... it really goes to show why so many people just go fullsize. Unless one specifically needs a small size, the best value is in the big trucks.

As of now I don't feel the need just yet to get lockers or fixed, I have yet to run into a issue. keep in mind I don't go looking for problems but if I do run into a problem going from point A to point B I've tackled it every time.

    The Frontier is the best value, most off road capable small truck you can buy. The powertrain has proven reliable. I paid 30 grand for my 2016 Pro4x extended cab brand new. Colorado, Canyon and Tacoma are at least 5 to 10 grand more. Why would you pay nearly 40 grand for a small truck ? At that price you can get a full size truck.

    I LOVE how this truck has the old school steering column shifter but after seeing some CZcams videos on how this truck performs in cold weather climates coupled with the fact they don't make a cold weather package I wouldn't buy the Titan just yet until they fix that. I do agree thought the Frontier needs a refresh at least the interior because outside it looks good still but at least do the steering wheel, I thought it looked horrible on the 350Z and I STILL think it looks terrible in the Frontier.

    The steering takes a bit of effort in the Pro 4x I found in my old 2014, I traded it in for a 2016 F150 3.5L Ecoboost and find the steering much more lighter and responsive. The back seat is also quite upright in my SuperCrew, I think most trucks are like that? The mpg sucked in the Pro 4x with 16mpg average, probably would still have it if it wasn't for the mpg.

    I love the frontier's design. The titan is too ford like, whereas the old titan had a distinctive look to it.
    The frontier is also tough as nails, reliable, easy to find parts for, ece. Its just a little work truck, and that is all it needs to be. If I were nissan, I would update the drivetrain and make the interior softer, and thats about it. It's a great design, and will be sad to see it go.

      A lot of it has to do with vehicle exhaust emissions and stuff like that. The alcohol they are thinning our gasoline out with lowers the MPG capability of any gas vehicle. Same with all of the emission controls required on Diesel vehicles. It just kills the fuel mileage. Also I imagine that they will continue to sell the older model until they can get parts supply ramped up and all of their plants retooled for the newer model.
