When you come to think about it. You're fighting this boss when it's already injured and weakened from the statues. I can only imagine it's full potential before he lost his tail.
Looking at this makes me think I skipped a few too many battles..

Dah'haka is an easy fight actually. The time you arrive at Gran Pulse enables you to do things you want before continuing on (and that's even after the Barthandelus fight in Oerba!). Only once you get on that ship to Eden do you continue on till a certain point in Orphan's Cradle where you can head back to Pulse before completing the game (I don't as I wait till post game for any tougher fights and so on).
Anyway, I used the time prior to Taejin's Tower to at least max my main characters Crystarium how far it would let me and certain gear and weapons. In my case it was this team he uses. There are missions you can do for useful items as well prior to this fight. If you properly grind things go smoothly in later fight like this one.
Without a doubt the coolest looking boss in FF13

@bcrichguitar11 Actually...anyone who actually knows how to play this game will use Sazh up through Chapter 11 simply because he's the first Syn to learn "Haste" which is absolutely godly. Light/Vanille/Sazh is most definitely the best team in chapters 10 and 11.
MasterLL you're thus far the most impressive RPG player I've known. Your strategic sticks & stone tactics are legit man. keep up the good work.
the caves shortly before hecatoncheire are a very nice place to level. extremely easy and fast.
My friends were complaining about how this game makes you fight bosses for so long, but they could still kill you, so I showed them your video, and they were speechless. They learned a lot from you pretty quickly though

@joeluchiha i gave lightning more attack because i used her as a commando, but it really depends on your preferences.
I was doing only 5k when I got here..sometimes the game doesnt cater to all player types..grind or struggle..sometimes that is too much the case.
Couldn't agree with you more, Prince of Persia Warrior Within is an amazingly awesome game in general and the Dahaka in it was such an intimidating badass, compared to this hilariously easy boss fight.

I am using Fang, Lightning and Hope to beat this boss. I tried some combos but so far the one that is working is to use SAB RAV RAV. The chain gauge fills up quickly and then you can switch to COM RAV RAV and beat the shit out of him. Fang and Light have 3000+ HP and Hope has 2500+
Nice follow up on the staggering point too MAX!
@tenten35 He grinded a lot, because this boss can be reaally challenging.
If you are not fit enough for this fight then here's a qucik and easy way to grind exp only 2 floors down!! Ok firstly take the elevator down to tier 4 then run to the very end and you will see a room with 5 yellow robots, wait at the doorway until 1 walks over and turns his back now is your time to strike and the fight begins. Go with a com/syn/rav combo and wait for haste then switch to com/com/rav and only use multi-hit attacks and they will all die within seconds!! A quick 8k exp!!

Imagine looking out into the distance, finding that the home you just described is now the exact opposite of what you said it was. The expressions and tones of their voices are likely only a fraction of the horror and despair Vanille and Fang felt whilst looking across the land of, and surrounding, Oerba...

if ur worried about doomed then go onto settings then go onto battle speed then change it to slow tht shud help
ok I take control of Sazh for this boss because I don't trust the AI to cast up Haste and Vigilance at the same time before going to auto and occasionally switching if I need heals
WOW!!!!!!!!, it took me at least 20 minutes to get his health down half way then he casted doom on lightning then i didnt stand a chance, you beat him in 1 min 36 s, my health is pretty much the same as yours and my wepons are maxed out, im no noob but if you got any tip's id like to hear em
@bcrichguitar11 dont worry.....on the three roles that your characters do not start with, they will be 60,000 each towards the end :)
@PoPoRybnik i had vanille as a medic/saboteur and i had sazh as a synergist/ravager but its up to you what they have.

may i ask how to repeat the previous command? which button did you press to repeat the sequence?
How did you get his HP to go down so fast? It takes forever when I face him so I just end up giving up.
I can't get anywhere in this help..don't get me wrong, you've got a great strategy there which has helped me lower his hp faster than before but my stats are so low that he can take me out with just one hit everytime.

Holy crap, you finished him in one stagger... The stupid thing cast Doom on me when I'd got his health down. It's gonna take me ages to get more HP, my characters only have about 2000HP each atm. ;_;
Indeed. heh thats why I don't watch too much until after I won the fight (I dont wanna copy anyone else, makes this place better) But I am curious where he is at leveling up and on weapon upgrades.

But how do you do to get STR or MAG?

Heh its be interesting to see what your setup is at this point (i know people gripe at me for showing but I like to see :P) It took me a while sigh
so what if your people arent this strong.. i'm reading thru the comments and i dont feel like leveling up anyway lol. i've tried everybody except for Fang... i even put hope's punk ass in and actually did ok. so is this the best method of beating it? what kind of weapons did you have. i'm still using the ones i've had from the beginning of the game

umm.. anyone know how to get cp points fast? b4 this fight? cause i only have 2k and most people on youtube have like 4k+ hp fighting this thing and i can't find a way on how to train faster.

I use Lightning Sazh and Hope and tri-disaster it to push it to the max!
befor you face this boss can you get one man army for light?

Arggh, the damage I do when I got him on stagger is nowhere near as high as yours.
Sorry the robots are on tier 5 my bad and they will respawn if you run up the stairs and wait 1 min

Out of all the bosses that gave me trouble, Odin and Dahaka are the worst. I'm at Dahaka right now and I just don't think I'm strong enough yet. But I really dont feel like going alllllllllll the way back to Archylyte to train again.
@helldemon44 I already tried that but com/com/syn had a faster kill time so i stuck with that

sometimes when i defeat these bosses and i get like 3 stars i'm like WHAT? it culdve gone faster than that!? guess i need more training/grinding :| but i'm glad i just defeated it lol

This boss was so easy. 5 stars first freeking try. FF 13 so far (im at chapter 13) is quite easy, only barthendelus was a challenge. And probably second form of proudclad.

I got this guy to the 3rd stagger and it all goes smoothly, then he does this stupid AoE poison thing which completely screws me over, died twice gonna try again with Sazh

Arg it took me 3000 years to kill this boss!!! I couldn't get past the point were he makes the screen have that red, orangish tint!! When the screen tint was green I die right after his next attack!!That's why I like this game, because its hard!!!

I found this boss very easy. pretty quick staggering rate.
