      hey 8 year later here lol people just compared the crap out of this game to the past games and complained it was too different but that was the point people couldn't accept the different fighting mechanics and paradigm shifts therefore it brought a bunch of unnecessary hate to the trilogy but the fact the game has amazing ost and a good crew is what baffles me on how people will jump straight to hating it because it's differnt

    I'm surprised you never SCANNED them to see their rapid requirements. Because most of the Eidolon's don't require active combat. For example, Lightning's Eidolon Odin required her to protect and aid hope, as a way of telling her not to go it alone and step on those that wished for her help. Bahamut appeared before Fang to help her make up her mind to fight her fate. Brynhildr appeared before Sasz to make him realize that there were still people that required his help, and for him to live on. Alexander came to Hope to make him realize his inner potential. Get the picture?

    • @rubinellemahrahn6591
      @rubinellemahrahn6591 Před 6 lety +26

      Oh...Well, Snow was determined never to give up, even at the cost of his own life. His desire and drive to protect attracted the Shiva Sisters, who arrived to make him understand that in order to protect others, one must be able to protect yourself first. Which meant not taking such foolish risks.

    • @rubinellemahrahn6591
      @rubinellemahrahn6591 Před 6 lety +18

      Crap, and I forgot Vanille. If I remember correctly, Hecaton (cannot spell that name to save my own ass) arrived to elaborate the point to Vanille, that lying and hiding the truth was getting her nowhere. She couldn't escape the truth no matter what, because eventually, it would all catch up to her, and she'd be cornered if she had no one to stand by her side.

    • @rubinellemahrahn6591
      @rubinellemahrahn6591 Před 6 lety +22

      Which is why I prefer to think of the Eidolon's as life lessons...Manifestations of the crippling flaws in their masters hearts, the things that would inevitably lead to their death and destruction. The Eidolons appear to correct those flaws, to make you aware that some form of action is needed, or doom will beckon when next you turn your head from the path.

    • @rubinellemahrahn6591
      @rubinellemahrahn6591 Před 6 lety +15

      Nah, that's not what happened. Originally, Vanille was SUPPOSED to become Ragnarok, but Fang did the transformation in her place. After they woke from their crystal slumber, Vanille decided to hide that little fact from Fang, who eventually recalled anyways. Which was why Fang's Brand was Sealed...she was practically destined to become Ragnarok again, and she nearly did. Vanille is literally a tragic case of "the little girl who tried to shoulder the burden of the world, and failed."

    • @Golden_BOI
      @Golden_BOI Před 4 lety +1

      @@coolguy02536 Ps4 version had easy mode but the xbox 360 version only had normal mode. The PC release does have both the modes but changing the difficulty in the campaign doesn't really do much, if you know the battle system well the entire campaign is piss easy until chap 11. In this fight, if you Haste and Enfrost Sahz, go into Commando and spam Blitz you fill up in entire bar guage in 20 seconds because Brynhyldr has a weakness to ice and Sahz'd Blitz is unique as it hits with mulitple projectiles which are weaker but count as seperate hits, so one Blitz is like hiting him with 20 ice attacks.
      Knowing the enimies weakness is most important in this game as staggering gets you a fastest kill and the correct paradigms to tackle those weaknesses is what game is about and that doesn't really change on either difficulty. All I know is easy mode increases drop rates of items, increases battle time for 5 stars and lowers your damage intake, i'm not sure if it does anything else , just lets you play sub optimal for less punishment, I never played the game on easy but it did take me 2 100% playthroughs to learn everything and the speedruns to learn tricks and gimmicks with characters like with Sahz in this fight.

    it's more like they appear when a person's will isn't in line with their own heart.
    they aren't following their own nature and are giving into despair, doing something very uncharacteristic. Like when lightning tried to abandon hope, or when fang tried to challenge the party instead of saving the world. or like the scene with sazh giving up.

Plus I kinda get the linearity portion for most of this game the game designers focused more on story in the beginning chapters of cocoon so people wouldn't get too distracted with the enviroments and instead opted for admiration for the backgrounds Nautilus is by far my favorite location on cocoon. also don't let the linearity fool you GRIND YOUR ASS OFF!!! if you don't wanna die in one shot to strong enemies grind CP chapters 7-10 offer PLENTY of opportunities for grinding

It isnt that she almost died by him, it's about how all the build up of emotions and compassion they had for each other, was gone because of him finally knowing the truth. It wasnt about if he pulls the trigger, but it was him coming to the reality and realization of who she really is and he had to find out what path to take. Forgiveness and grudge. And it forced Vanille to finally confront her own feelings instead of just running away. That's what the scene is all about, the gun represents Sazh's emotions that cloud his judgement.

    Eidolon fights are more than just about acquiring the ability to freely use them. Think about when the appear, and what fighting them means to character development.

    Don't complain about not having haste, the fun about these battles is trial and error, for me at least. I figured out about Brynhildr's weaknesses then just casted bravery to vanille and sazh, then let loose a barrage of magic spells(other than fire), then heal when needed to.

      I love the 13 series. However I didn't get attached to the second game. Really with the way the first one ended, they could have stopped there. But the second game in my opinion just jumped the gun into something so whacky that they had just to nuke the universe and restart it at the end of the third one just to fix those story errors. (I happen to looove the gameplay of lightning returns tho)

    @Tailsbrawler when you fill up its gesault gauge, is there something special you have to do? i try this but i keep dualcast attacking with the gesault gauge full & nothing happens.. Brynhildr refuses to yield =(

    @LAGGZZZ haste is the first Synergist move Sazh can learn at the start of this chapter so it doesn't require that much grinding for him to learn it: learning how to use Sazh later in the game..now THAT takes some "grinding" for the players themselves LOL

    @Slevinkelevraable Well, what's kinda' funny (and unfortunate) is that I ended up in the same boat, having to look it up... only to not need any of the information I found. I just reverted to before the boss that leads up to Brynhildr, ground up some CP and rethought my strategy. Next thing I know, I've got a good 350+ left on the timer when the battle ended. I was honestly shocked. For those who don't mind the grind, the little Zwerg droids are worth 128CP a pop.

    It is easy. Try equipping the accessory in which amps up potions two if possible. Then all you need to do is keep it on dual casting and just heal when necessary

    This was such an easy Eidolon. Won it in the first try. SYN/MED, then RAV/RAV. Didn't have much doomtime left but the gauge went up like crazy.

    this scene brought a hot tear to my eye
    i had to run around and fight a few of the little blue droid things to get enough cp to get haste and blizzard...and i wanna know what song that is from the ost playing in the back ground...
    while commando doesnt get the gauge up, it keeps it from going down super fast...ravagers get the gauge up, commandos keep it up
