  • Yokohama Design College is a visual and art design vocational school located in the heart of Yokohama. Since it is primarily a Japanese vocational school, there are Japanese high school and vocational school students studying in the same building as Japanese language students! This is a great opportunity for students to interact with Japanese students and improve their Japanese.
This school is medium intensity means the school gives you a perfect balance between study pace and free time. This means that you’ll be able to enjoy your life in Japan, while still being able to effectively progress your studies.
The school is also located in Yokohama which is Japan’s second-largest city by population and has many things to offer to tourists and residents alike. You won’t be disappointed with the city lifestyle that Yokohama has to offer without being too far removed from Tokyo. Yokohama station and Minato Mirai are popular hangout spots for young Japanese locals, so there’s plenty to do, see, and buy. Located right on the bay, Yokohama feels spacious and refreshing.

Have you guys ever thought about doing a comparison video on what it’s like to live in different cities? I’m interested in Osaka, Yokohama, and Fukuoka but have a hard time deciding 😅

    Hey I have a questions
You guys have said you need 4 million yen to be able to study in Japan for 2 years, I know that 4 million is money for you to live off of, and I was wondering, is the tuition fee included in this 4 million yen? Or is the tuition fee separate from the 4 million yen? (I’d like to go to akamonkai and the tuition fee is ¥1,478,000 for 2 years)
    Thank you!

4 million probably can only be enough for 1 year, including tuition fee. It will be accessible if you got a part-time job.

Is the art class free when you enroll for the Japanese Language Program?

Hello! The Japanese classes are separate from the vocational school classes, so they are not offered as a bundle unfortunately. However, twice a year, this school provides all students the opportunity to sign up for open classes taught at their vocational school, and other activities. These special classes are offered over one or two days, and include lots of creative topics!
