That first one looks like a glue gun 😂
Too funny
You are right.
If it’s reliable, you train with it and like it then yes! That’s a very nice looking pistol. Something small is better than nothing at all. Respect
Well said SPN - thanks man
True, those are important points
This should never have been discontinued.
Not sure why
@@TheFirearmGuy
I guess there were some problems with the 380 at first. The 9mm is a great pistol.
I have a Kahr CM9 and a KelTec P32 i use for pocket carry. Yep still relevant
Thanks Tommy
I've got Sig's 380 version. 2 tone with rosewood grips. Its a sweet soft shooter and a looker too. I don't know why I own so many firearms. They can't all be practically relevant but some I just like! It's a great country if we can manage to keep it.
Well said Stefan
I carried the sig P238 for a long time too. Fun fact if you didn’t know, the 911 mags from Springfield are identical to the Sig mags at half the price, unless you have the Legion version of the Sig.
I have the 911 in 380. I love it. Did not know they made it in a 9mm. I'll be looking on gunbroker for one. I believe it to still be relevant.
Thanks Terry
For $500-$550 the new S&W CSX is a single action all metal hammer fired gun with a 10rd/13rd mag that I think is an awesome gun, very small and lightweight and mine works great. 😁
Great to hear bud
The cool thing is to hate the CSX though, the trigger wasn't great so everyone thinks its bad
The sad thing about that pistol is that gun tubers cause the pistol to just tank.
Or people just don’t want a carry pistol with a false reset trigger.
@@Go2Sleep87 That's such a goofy and lazy problem to have lol, just release the trigger all the way
In the firearms industry being relevant changes constantly. There are models that become obsolete or irrelevant but are still very cool and desirable. In my opinion this is one. 👍
Well said bro
All micro 9mm and 380 are still relevant, even KelTec and SCCY (well probably not Jimenez). Some more than others because of newer features but they're all relevant.
Thanks texas
I would carry that over a LCP any day.
Thanks David
It is relevant is the fact that this guns Sig “descendants”, the P238 and the P938, are still around and in production.
And I own both Sig pistols for summer carry.
Very cool man
Bought my Sig P238 shortly after they were introduced and will NOT part with it.
Still in my EDC rotation when warranted to carry.
colt Mustang .380 was made before sig P-238 , or P-938
Too heavy compared to lcp ii and Max
@@dontworrybout2664Shoots better and is more reliable than either though. There’s a reason I still have a P238 in the safe and I sold off the LCP2 and LCP Max.
Definitely relevant, there is something about the 1911ish pocket guns that just instill confidence.
Thanks Charles
Hey MI Don, Thanks for these “still relevant” posts. I’ve tried for 2yrs to find/grab one of these 911 in SS, not fast enough, gone immediately! I had Sig 938 in “We the People” traded it off,, could kick myself :( Keep up the GREAT WORK & GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸 Wayne from WI :)
Nothing wrong with a nice single stack. I would say relevant and I would carry it.
Much appreciated Cam
when I was getting into CCW, I looked at this because no (so few) brand/manufacturer was making Single-stack 9 in a more regular size any more, and I don't see the point in a 15 rd "belly gun"
Ive looked at this pistol several times but ended up finding something else i wanted more. I would say yes its still relevant, id still buy one for the right price
Thanks Moe
The 911 or the p938/238 fit the j frame niche for me. Something small and easy to toss in the pocket, but not ideal for a fight outside of bad breath distance.
Good point although this one will reach out
I think it’s still relevant, my pops still carries his Kimber micro9 daily for many years now. Some people just love this platform. This is one I’d buy if I happened to come across it but wouldn’t go out of my way to find. Cool little pistol. I like this video series 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
I bought the 911 (.380) and right after they discontinued it.. Its a really pretty gun (manly voice) accurate and easy to conceal. no issues with mine
Great to hear Chris
I still pocket carry my sig p938. I've had it for years and it functions great. Of course it's still relivant, but there's probably better options out these days. But I'm sticking with what works for me. Thanks for the video and discussion!
Great comment bro
Thanks Dan for this video. The Springfield at least for me is still relevant, because i still carry it as my EDC in some places. I know there are some people that faith when you mention name SPRINGFIELD ARMORY. But I like the 380acp caliber and the 1911 manual of arms. Out in the gun world the likes of Hellcat and Sig P365 pushed it out..... but i still have two of them. Like they say " one is none, two is one". As to parts, Springfield still carries the oarts for it. Needed a firing pin spring replaced. Called them, rep lady was very helpful and said as for parts there is plenty of it. Stay safe and looking forward to your next video from this series.
Excellent comment Honda
I remember when they came out. Basically, just copies of the Colt Mustang. I had a Mustang +2. They are nice and easy to carry. Thanks for the video.
Thanks IronMike
Very cool, I just discovered the single stack pistols (micros) I have the xds mod 2 45acp and now looking at a Savage Stance Stance
Really like this new platform . Thumbs up firearmsdude
Thanks Anthony
Can’t speak for the Springfield, but the 238 and 938 are great ams absolutely still relevant
Thanks Douglas
I have had the 911 since it came out. It is my favorite pocket carry. Feels good in my hand. Shoots great. Make sure your thumb is on top of safety win shooting. Thumb can hit safety up half way. Love the gun.
Always relevant! I pocket carry a p2000sk in .40 or an xd9 compact!
Very cool Joe
Thanks for the video. 🙂🙂
Thanks Dragon
Yes it would fit in my Highland Tactical fanny pack or my Bravobelt Belly band in florida with heat and shorts and T shirts small is good ...I usually carry a GX4 or when really hot a S&W Bodyguard 380 M&P!😊
I heard the trigger pull was the worst ever, that double revolver thing that is.
It's heavy
Had that 380 version like that, great gun but sold it. Would love to pick one up, noticed prices have risen on them. Perfect for someone who carries 1911 and wants a summer carry. It was actually for my wife, then switched to M&P EZ then a Ruger LCR 22WMR for her.
I never had one of these but I had a colt government model .380 it was a slightly larger version of the mustang and this one. Best gun I ever had I'm still kicking myself for selling it.
Bidenomics
Like your content more with each video! Good stuff. Original and fun. I'm in the market for a 'cocked-n-locked' EDC. I wish I had known earlier about SA's 911 (I am an SA fan). I'm not going to pay Kimber or SIG's price for one. I guess the only other option is the S&W CSX (kinda, but has better capacity), and that is the direction I'm leaning.
Relevant? Yeah, sure, why not.
Love the comment visualverbs
I have the same pistol. Picked it up brand new for $400 in 2020. It's my EDC.
Still relevant Dan! It is amazing to me, the genius of John Browning's design. A small affordable 1911 style gun is a great thing. Sorry it's gone (like the 2075 RAMI), it should still be made.
Thanks, Dan. Seems relevant to me.
Thanks Bob
Heck yeh it's relevant! I carry a kahr cm 9. I know it's different but a single stack 9mm pocket pistol with all the good ammo available. 6+1 115 grain v crowns in the pocket sounds good to me.
Thanks Chris
I like my Beretta Tomcat 32 acp compact which was discontinued for around 3-4 years and now they have introduced it back for 2024 with threaded barrel and FDE styling 😊
Correct and I shot the new one and it was pretty cool
The 911, like the 238/938 and Kimber Micro pistols, are based on the Colt Mustang design and are meant for a niche market. Relevant? Yes, but to a very limited market. (Yes, I do carry a 238 on occasion and I have the 911 .380, but reliability has been iffy.)
Always a well informed comment from you Rider
👍👍Thanks Dan, I doubt I would buy it but it is a sharp looking pistol.
Much appreciated Lance
I have the Kimber Micro Raptide, it's in my EDC rotation. They're Relevant.
I don’t know, but I see those Kimber micros in every store around me. Someone must be buying them.
Super expensive
Love mine.. great little pistol!
I got into CCW just as it was being phased out, handled it during my first trip to a gun store,
it was a consideration, I was looking for a "get off me" gun, and it probably would have been "shortlisted" but, with the 9mm, the slide was Way too much for me to rack.
Thanks for the feedback
Pretty nice looking gun. I'm not a big fan of pocket carry but I do carry my rm380 every now and again in a wallet holster that really deep conceals. Definitely not a quick presentation though. I would be a little wary of a sa pocket carry. Then again I don't carry any of my da/sa cocked and locked😊 thanks for the series.👍
I appreciate that Chris
I pocket/ankle carried the 911 380 for a few years, it got a little rusty but no biggie. Sold it when I got the LCP MAX, no manual safety and a few more rounds. No brainer.
Thanks man
For pocket carry it’s hard to go wrong with a J Frame or an LCR. Being able to fire effectively, and repeatedly, from inside a coat pocket makes a world of difference.
Thanks gew
I think it’s relevant for the reason many others have stated in this thread: two other manufacturers have similar hand guns that are current production models. That should be as valid a reason as any in my opinion.
Good stuff syds
Still relevant too me. Still trying to find one on a deal to get. Great video.
Much appreciated Scott
Those are the kind of guns you wait and pick them up used at gun stores. I picked up a micro nine from Kimber, and it is well-made, but stupid snappy so it is not my favorite. I also picked up a Sigg 938 for cheap, and I stumbled onto a winner. That gun is super smooth and not extremely snappy and very accurate. I got a steal on that one.
Glad you got what you wanted Kev
Owned both the 380 and the 9mm. Loved both, but the 9mm literally blew up in me at the range one day. Sent it back to Springfield and they only offered to replace it with a different pistol. Sad…. Still carry the 380.
Whoa, that's crazy
Yes, totally relevant . . . _But_ , SAO is a no-go for me. I grew up on SA/DA revolvers. Striker fired pistols just feel , I dunno , too dangerous to me. I need a hammer fired revolver or pistol.
I'm just hard wired that way.
Thanks Random
Never shot this pistol, but I have shot the Sig P238. I loved the Sig P238 in terms of accuracy and aesthetic, but my support hand kept riding the slide causing a few malfunctions. It's a beautifully built pistol and I could have figured a way to train around it, but it just seemed a little overpriced in terms of what it offered. Sometimes just going a little bigger like a Glock 42 can make a huge difference. Yes the Glock 42 looks like an ugly ducking compared to the Sig P238, but it's a workhorse.
Well said Q G
I had one in 380, it was a fun, smooth as silk shooter.
Very cool Jeff
Nice, i had something very similar, a sig p238 in 380. Was an awesome pocket pistol, i would have it in my pants pocket n nobody would ever notice. Keep up tha great work 👍🏽
Great comment man
I’ve got the sig 938 legion. It’s almost the same gun. I love it and carry it often. I don’t feel under powered. The mags are small and light enough that you could carry two spares for the same weight of one 15 rounder. Ya just have to watch the damn 2 piece guide rod…
Good stuff Ken
I love all guns for what they are. That is a pretty little thing. I prefer revolvers. I feel more confident with them.
Gotcha bro
I'd say it's relevant considering that two other manufacturers make a version of it. The only thing I don't like about it is that I can't get a full three fingered grip without an extended base plate. But that's just a personal preference the gun itself is good.
Thanks Cory
Absolutely. Nice 1911 style pocket pistol.
Thanks destroyingdad
I think it’s still relevant. I use to have one great shooting little gun, they’re still very much in use.
Agreed Mike
Thank s
Thanks Paul
👍better than some for pocket carry
No doubt TAB
Although it was never really relevant, I really wish Kimber could remake a reliable Kimber Solo.I loved mine until about 500 rounds when it just wouldn't function reliably anymore.
I hear ya and many people complained about the Kimber
My favorites a keltec p32
Thanks man
This pistol has to still be relevant. 1. It's a Springfield 2. It's perfect pocket carry size. 3. It's 7 rounds of 9mm in your pocket. 4. It's just a sharp looking pistol all around. I would carry one for sure.
Solid points Craig
I hate Springfield stopped making them. I bought the .380 when they released it. Then traded it for a 9mm. I still carry it when running to the Circle K, mailbox, and it's one of my "church guns". Nothing good last forever I guess. Like you said it's just a micro 1911 basically and very accurate for me. Since they don't make them anymore, I have to say it's not relevant now. For those of us that own and carry them, it very much still is. Good stuff Dan.
Great comment devildog
I know why they discontinued it. Ruger LCP Max. It's much less expensive than the 911. The LCP Max has greater capacity, a 10 round magazine instead of a 6 or 7 round magazine. You can get it for between 280-340 online. The LCP Max also has fewer parts and is easier to take down than the Springfield 911. The Springfield 911 has a better trigger; it's light and short with a short reset. It's so light and short that it needs a safety. The LCP Max has a longer, heavier trigger and does not have a safety. I also like my Springfield 911 because it's heavier than the LCP Max and thus there's less felt recoil. Is the less felt recoil and better trigger worth the $300 difference in price, especially when the LCP Max holds 3-4 more rounds? The other difference is that the Springfield 911 is all metal and to me, more attractive than the LCP Max. I can dress up my 911 with ivory or polished walnut grips. I can't do that with the LCP Max. So it's price and magazine capacity. To someone buying a pocket pistol, a $300 or more difference in price means you can buy many more magazines and more ammo.
I owned it for a short time, it was too picky about the ammo it ate, that was when .380 was still affordable 😢
Thanks man
I dont pocket carry anything but it a nice looking gun. I know if i found one at a decent price i would get it for sure. Never have enough
Love it Scott
It’s definitely still relevant, I own the p938, great little pistol for pocket carry. But what with all the new double stacks like the p365 and the Hellcat it’s not as relevant anymore.
Thanks Anthony
I've got a P938 Legion, 500+rounds through it with zero issues or malfunctions, not irrelevant, I may get another one!
Haha love it Steven
I have on the P2 38 in the P938 and I thought they were great guns they’re super lightweight to carry the only problem is capacity. They’re well-made nice-looking recoil is manageable field right in the head they have a nice night sights I mean really there’s nothing bad about him I wish I still have mine but some Other gun caught my attention that I just had to have so they went on the selling block in what onto some other lucky owner. But I think they’re totally still relevant
Great comment James
I think the Springfield 911 is still relevant for those that are die hard 1911 guns. The Thunderstruck to me is a novelty
Thanks Frank
I have a P938 that I bought new for well under $700 ($550? $600? I don't remember). Not pleasant shooting it with arthritis, but it's still my "pocket carry". If the 911 is as reliable as the P938, yes, it's still relevant.
Very cool man
Is that the same as the e.m.p. 9 ?
No, much smaller
I like these relevant videos but in this case have to say I have no use for any type of gun like this. I think a pocket gun should be double action only like the original Ruger LCP or Smith & Wesson Bodyguard.
Much appreciated propdoctor
Definitely relevant
Thanks Jeron
Cool gun, Id get one!
They dont have that spring filled gun in my state smh
I like that. For that price I would buy one. I will look for a used one at my local gun stores and pawn shops. I won't buy off the Internet.
Thanks Larry
Few years back I bought one online, got an email the next day saying there was a delay in the order. Few days after that I got another email telling me I was refunded and they couldn't get them anymore. After that I couldn't find new ones anywhere near the $495 I had paid and I found out that was because they weren't being made anymore.
Same week, same company had one of the higher end kimber micro 9s with extra mags, the nicer grips and the fiber optic night sights for only $600. So I dropped a C-note more than I originally wanted to spend on a kimber jam-tastic mag-drop-omatic micro piece of garbage 9. So I don't know if the 911 is still relevant, I'd like to guess if I had gotten one I would probably think it still was (there's many of us that grew up shooting our grandfather's 1911s and just wanted something we're familiar with just in a smaller size, it's why I wanted this gun) but, instead of getting what I originally wanted I bought the most disappointing gun I've ever owned.
Big time bummer Rudy. Loved the comment though
@TheFireArmGuy yeah I know. really enjoy the channel, keep up the great videos!!
The double stack micro compacts really killed the single stack pocket gun market. I imagine that they wanted to sell something like the Springfield Hellcat and just stopped focusing on these.
EDIT: This gun is still worth having even if its designer decided not to give it love.
I'd really like the original 380 but definitely not going to get one. I think it's a great gun but the market wasn't meshing up with it during its production.
Thanks Walker
I carry the p938 almost daily. I would definitely carry the Springfield
Very cool BA
@@TheFirearmGuy thank you
@@TheFirearmGuy BTW my other carry is the cz rami 2075 BD. Maybe a good idea for a is it relevant video?
wish the first one was in 22lr. that's why i never got one
Like the similar sized Kahr, the appeal lies in the size and the belief by certain individuals that capacity and red dots aren’t that important.
Good stuff Eric
Springfield discontinues guns way too quickly. This is just one of several they should have kept.
First one, Jam-O-Matic?
.380 911?
For me, micro pistols are a non starter. I just cannot use them with my extra large mitts.
And don't get me started on Derringers.
I get your point Martin
Cool gun. $580 is a bit much. There are too many guns out today that offer more for much less.
Thanks man
I wanted one. But they weren't in production very long.
Over 5 years
Wow, time flies.😊@@TheFirearmGuy
Should have been Double action\single action with a decocker
My Sig 938 is still relevant....at least to me.
Yes sir Gary
Is the M9 DA service pistol still relevant??
I would feature it if I had one
Nice look ....its relevant....
Thanks man
The price is a bit high for me. I don't care whether it's hammer or striker fired. It's reliable, accurate, a nice size, and has adequate (for me) capacity for a pocket gun. It's also nice looking, but that isn't too important to me for a pocket gun. It's just a nice plus. I think it's very relevant. It meets a real and very common need. Good gun.
Great comment Andy
It's probably a nice weapon, but I would say it got discontinued because of poor sales. SA is running a business and any business has to do what is profitable for the firm and shareholders.
Well said Romans
Yeah it was great and price was right. But never seen many before they were gone.
Agreed Jack
@@TheFirearmGuy be nice if Springfield and kimber and sig would make them double stack like the CSX from S&w. I’m an old ball but I like CSX it’s not perfect but it and FN reflex are my two micro 9mm I kept after owning them all. Waiting for HK micro 9mm and reflex will probably go away.
Not really relevant to me. For the most part, I don't shop for used guns or look for hard to find discontinued items, so I wouldn't go on an online or pawn shop search for this. Plus I have a 9mm pocket gun, my Taurus GX4. (Your videos reviewing and comparing it to others were a great help to me in deciding to purchase it.) It instantly became my new EDC, and now I've carried it daily close to a year.
Great to hear Larry
Yes, still relevant, nice looking also. I would get one if I can find it for $500.00 or lower.
It's possible bud
I believe so
Thanks Michael
It looks nice but single stack seven round capacity? I'd rather stick with my Max-9. The hammer fire is a plus.
Thanks man
