The supersport class has a whole new beast to deal with. Honda dropped the CBR 600rr and took all the R's from it and added it to this CBR 1000RR-R SP. This bike is insane and doesn't belong on the road but they, let's try it anyway!

The U.S. spec is restricted to 60% throttle even when pinned. That is to meet U.S. noise restrictions. It has a piece of foam in the nose to reduce intake noise also. The different handling is because of the long wheel base and rake. To offset the slower handling Honda raised the motor a little higher in the frame for more leverage. Good trade off for more stability.

From all of the other reviews I've seen about this bike, it is VERY track focused. All of he power is in the high RPMs. I've also heard that an ECU reflash does absolute wonders for this bike just because of the emissions restrictions from the factory.

This bike, with its harshness, reminds me of the 1199. Next weekend I get the chance to review one as well, love the quality of your videos man, I appreciate production like this. I know how much goes into it. I have my RSV4 1100 Factory as my track bike, I love track days especially after doing the yamaha champ school, they really allow me to use my bike for its intended purpose and I don't do the crazy stuff on the streets. Highly recommend people getting to a track at least twice a year.
This is an incredible machine. I know first hand.. i would like to explain to you the "taper power feeling your feeling " that's traction control and wheelie control. Hit me up . I have this bike 3000+ miles & flashed.. these bikes are incredible. Can help ya understand some more of the off the charts technology encased in this package. This is by FAR, the sexiest motorcycle around right now, even ahead of the Panigale. Honda remembered how to make drop dead gorgeous bikes and I never thought I'd say a new Honda is prettier than the latest Ducati. Super stoked and the want is VERY strong.

agree to disagree, in my opinion the ducati stil have the prettiest front and tail section of any bike, the lines of the ''eyes'' on the ducati's... just wow!

650ib has a good review of how they remapped the ECU to get the RR-R uncorked. Stock settings are really nerfed. Still a gorgeous bike though

OC - i'd only get a track dedicated bike if I'm on the track at least every month.. otherwise i'm fine just using my regular bike. But track days are so much fun, you get to not only experience but try skills that you normally can't practice on the street. Looking forward to more 'track' videos!
The two different exhaust pipes you are referring to is the exhaust servo. Manufacturers have to do this in order to conform to EPA noise standards.
Smaller pipe=city riding
Bigger pipe=highway riding

With the throttle response, the engine is built to run at higher RPMs so the power band is up there. A weird thing but Iâm sure it helps on the track itself
OC: Digital speedos, when you gotta add MPHs in blocks of 10-12. Track mode and 6K RPMs, Bike sings you the song of its people. I'd like to be in a position to have a track bike, but even if I was, this would be more than I need, even there.

(OC) Get a track bike. I grabbed a fully prepared bike from a company that does arrive and ride with track-side services. Bike lives with them and I see it when itâs time to boogie, usually with a set of tire warmers already fitted!
Do it. Track riding is soooo much better and more rewarding, but you already know that!

Honestly if I could afford it I would daily this. My work commute is only 25 minutes. So right on the cuff of what most people can comfortably ride on a super sport before they start getting sore. This would be perfect for me.
I'm scared to even know what the insurance will be like. To go from my 2012 GSXR750 that I've had for years to a brand new GSXR1000R is a jump from $480 to $1500 a year.

lol they doing that vtec thing on this bike. Its a proper honda. along with how they did the fins on the side of this bike, looking at it from the front reminds me of a gundam head with the vents on the side of the head.

OC: I want a dedicated track bike SO BAAAD!!! Around here we have emissions restrictions and gasoline engines made earlier than 2003 cannot go through the main city centers. Getting a pre-2003 600cc or a ninja 400 would be perfect for the local track

That good got sport bike! For me I got myself Italy scooter PIAGGIO MP3 250IE top speed 67 but upgraded I did on it those 110 mph!
I wish I could have got that bike but it was outta my budget so instead I got the 2019 Honda cbr1000rr Sp1. But I'm super happy with it! Was the best bike honda made until the rrrsp. And keep in mind all these bike are restricted until flashed.

Tbh quite honest....itâs geared quite high.....and âitâs not fit for the streetsâ like the reviewer said at the beginning. I have a 2014 HP4 and itâs near perfect....plenty torque on the low and mid range to get the hell out of trouble around town.....

@chaseontwowheels the throttle feel you kept on mentioning isn't a special mapping or something. it's just that the power band is way way up there in the RPMs. It's like an R6, but more extreme if you will. So down low there's really isn't much.. you have to really wring its neck to get the power you're looking for. it's quite literally a racebike with headlights..
also.. start going to the track and experience a track day :)
