I recently had a lone accident. I am a new rider, only 3K miles under my belt. I was changing lanes in heavy traffic, looking back to make sure the vehicle behind me was giving me some space but I did not realize the vehicle in front was making a turn into a parking lot. When I looked to the front the vehicle was almost stopped. I hit my breaks hard and the bike threw me. I was only traveling at about 15+ mph. I did not hit the car in front and thankfully the car behind did not run over me. Dressing for the slide, I always ride with full armored gear, no matter how hot it gets. I walked away with a broken elbow and a hard lesson learned. Thank you for these tips, especially the stopping behind a car.

As an inline4 daddy, it took me such a gatdamn long time to be okay with the sound (or lack thereof) of the R7. I'm so used to a bike screaming at me that it just felt weird.

Buell is still on my bucket list. The original xbs were cool as hell. Just weak motor. Now they got the power and tech to compete with the Japanese and italians

I leave a car space between me and bikers so if I get hit, I can attempt to brake before hitting them from the momentum of the others hitting me

if you dont have a front wheel chock you really need much more fork compression. the first time you hit a bump the straps will get slack in them and the bike will move.

My friend, how many liters of oil do you add along with the filter change when you do the engine oil maintenance? Have you had an oil cooler explosion problem?

Lane position is critical at stop because you want to see past the vehicle in front of you and also other drivers to see you. Stay left or right in lane depending on circumstances with tire chocked slightly left or right so if you get rammed you’re going to move around the vehicle in front.

I have an atlas 4.0 but going to be getting a new helmet for my bday. currently debating getting the EOX or an Arai Contour X. My Atlas is starting to fall apart with the pad and chin flap connections, other than that, I absolutely love the atlas 4.0. I got a new bike a couple weeks ago so a new helmet is a must :P. I would like to know if the new shockwave for this helmet is on par with cardo pack talk since that is what I currently have.

Get a helmet liner and you won't have helmet hair!👌 I don't care to do this but I'm here to see how the bike holds up. it's nice to have another choice when it come to bikes. I'm riding a Versys....

Even though I started out learning on enduros/dual sports, I'm not too heavily into adventure-bikes. Maybe I was traumatized by a co-worker's Teneré I borrowed back in the day and then had to balance on my tippy-toes at every red light I encountered - despite my height of 5'10''... :D In any case: I love the fact that bikes like the Himalayan exist - just like some of the other RE-models, it seems like a throwback to simpler designs but updated with more modern requirements in mind. I really appreciate the fact that it doesn't try to look super modern - I've always preferred motorcycles that had a more timeless look about them. And I think the Himalayan fits the bill visually as it reminds me of very early ADVs like the OG BMW GS or the early XT600/660 Tenerés. All that said and keeping in mind what market it was initially made for: It really could use a bit more power. I think if they either squeezed another 10hp or so out of its current engine or put their ~50hp inline-two into this one, it would make the bike a hell of a lot more attractive. I'm going to get insanely creative and suggest the name "Super Himalayan".

Let's see if it will help me to get my license...

Idk man, I've owned an r3 and an R6. The R6 is like riding a 250 below 7000 RPM's. There's just no power down low. It's unexpected torque that will really hurt you when it makes you lift a tire. That and the bike being a little heavier makes it easier to tip in a parking lot. Now, if you can't stop yourself from going 150mph thats a personal issue, not a bike issue.

77 mpg?! My 22 Grom with a slip on gets well over 100mpg. On the 1.6G tank, I can cruse PCH and the Malibu hills all day. 150+ miles to a tank. I do like the look of the Papio though

A tip for car drivers. Instead of slug a bug when you find a vw. Do it with motorcycles to teach your kids to spot motorcycles when they start driving and to help you be aware of them during.

I've watched about 20 reviews on this bike and this is the only one where vibration was an issue , the thing is the revs are limited on this new bike and you were probably in too high a gear for the revs you were at . I'm in the UK and all of our reviewers have said that the bike is fine for Motorway riding but all of those reviews were on bikes that were already run in .

Waste of time even watching this! This guy cannot even use an angle grinder. Cutting a lock at the angle ??? Disc locks are defeated by a simple cold chisel and hammer attacking the pin. Wasted my time watching .
