    After running the Vance & Hines FP3 for about 2500 miles since the S&S 475 cam install, I decided and was persuaded that it’s now time to upgrade to the Power Vision....Man o man what a difference. Alas, the power is there thru the whole powerband, but don’t fret I still kept the FP3 since it will serve a whole other purpose.

    The PV has plenty of gauges for you to choose from, and you can monitor a whole lot more from its screen. Also, it's water resistant, so you can use it in the rain as well. Mine is on my bike permanently. It can also read and clear error codes, and you can use it on other bikes for monitoring and error codes, just not for tuning. It doesn't do Bluetooth though, so you'll need to run the cable from the port to the handlebars.
    Important to note that both the FP3 and the PV2 use the existing H-D hardware including the narrowband oxygen sensors. You can get the Target Tune module for the PV2, and the Fuel Pack Pro for the FP3. The PV2 is more expensive than the FP3, and the Fuel Pack Pro is more expensive than the Target Tune. Ultimately the V&H and the Dynojet systems come to about the same price.
    Regardless of which tuning system you get, get it properly dyno tuned. That way you can get the engine dialed in under controlled circumstances, and you have an expert making manual adjustments to smooth out the performance of the engine.

      It's all about getting it dialed in properly. The PV2 is a much more serious bit of kit compared to the FP3, but get some WBO2 sensors on it, and get it professionally dyno tuned, and both can achieve the same results. It's just that Dynojet is supported by pretty much 99.9% of all dyno tuners, and the FP3 by about 2%.
      If you're starting from scratch, I'd recommend going with the Dynojet PV2. If you already have an FP3, try to find a tuner who has the Fuel Pack Pro.

If you still had flat spots in your powerband, there are ways you could manually adjust the VE, A/F and spark advance tables. I have an FP3 on my '14 Limited with a Stage 2 and I am happy with how the bike performs with the canned map for my setup and after running an autotune. Having said that, I think I will try the Power Vision on my '20 Heritage Classic 114 after the warranty runs out, though I really do like that the FP3 has Bluetooth capability. Hello,
    I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I have a 2019 road glide also, 107 rinehart 4.5 slip-ons, arlen ness monster sucker air cleaner, and a fp3 for a tuner. In the garage I have an S&S 475c cam chest kit, and a krome werks aggressor head pipe that I have not installed yet. I live in Florida, and I'm waiting for the weather to cool off before doing the install. I'm planning on using a power vision after the install of the pipe and cam chest kit. Do you monitor your engine temps with your fp3? On a 95 degree day, at interstate speeds for 10 miles or more, I see engine temps of 310-316 degrees. Seems hot, but my oil temp stays around 215. Did you notice a engine temp drop after the pv tune from fuel moto? What kind of temps are you seeing? Good video btw.

    • @PaulOnTheRun
      @PaulOnTheRun  Před 2 lety

      At the beginning all I did was watch those temps. I can run between 290-315. I didn’t see much of a temp difference between the two but what really freaked me out is when I first installed it I had those lower fairings on and I would see temps like in the 345 range. That didn’t make me feel good. So during the summer months I lose those entirely to keep the engine temps down. On average I see 290 temps.

      Yes. But I do recommend you contact Fuel Moto because they do a bang up job at getting the right tune for you. I did run one auto tune but for me that was more just fine tuning thru the whole power band. They now have a newer Power Vision as well.

      @@PaulOnTheRun cool bro i will contact them once I receive the tuner. I believe I got the new one as I do have a 2021 Roadglide with the new Delphi ECM. I appreciate the help man. And also your CZcams videos were extremely helpful when doing the cam install. Great job! 👍🏼

    Did the bike needed a new map after you installed the new cam before the power vision mapping in this video?

    • @PaulOnTheRun
      @PaulOnTheRun  Před 3 lety

      It does. First I mapped with the FP3 but then moved to a Power Vision.

      @@PaulOnTheRun To be fair, the performance gains are most likely down to the Fuel Moto tune, not the PV2 perse. Fuel Moto know how to tune bikes. V&H looks at the data and makes adjustments based on that, but since the bike runs off of narrowband O2 data, the new values are more like guess work than an accurate science. Fuel Moto has had many of these builds on their dyno at one time or another.

    It sounds like the placibo effect. When I wash my car, it somehow runs better

    • @PaulOnTheRun

      It may be but placebo can’t change that bottom end and the FP3 just couldn’t handle that cam on the take off. It would constantly sputter but not with the Power Vision.

      Technically washing your car does make it run better. A clean car is more aerodynamic.

    Power vision can monitor plenty of items from your bike. No need to put the fuelpack back on

      Yes. But not wirelessly and I don’t want a PowerVision mounted to my bars all the time. Not sure if the newest one does it now though.

    Buying both would be a waste of money, both interfaces won't read the others map.

      I agree. With that said I would never buy both but I’d tried to find the silver lining of owning both after each not doing exactly what I wanted. One’s interface is great while the other tunes better. I guess you can’t have it all. Deuces ✌🏼
