Just seeing the knowledge of this guy and his cleanliness in his shop makes me want him to work on my bike. Hard to find a quality mechanic at this guys level
Really not that hard to find, but they all charge money that matches the talent, and that makes people feel ripped off
@@drewthelegend0188 HD charges you an arm and a leg and I’m never 100% confident in any work they do lol
@@nickricholetti754 true....sad but true kkkkkkkkkk
I was thinking the same thing 🤔
He is a great mechanic. Very good to listen to as well.
Thank you both for teaching how an engine works. I'm 62, but I didn't grow up with this experience or knowledge. Thanks also for not being condescending. I taught high school for 40 years, and I recognize a good teacher when I see one.
as a bike enthousiast i love this kind of stuff, i work in IT and have no clue whats going on inside my bike. It's nice to learn these things being explained clearly.
Thanks for watching!
@@BlockheadMoto I have a 2006 harley davidson softail heritage what could I do to get more Horse power and torque out of it I love the videos guys great job with them thank for your time in this matter
Chris is a good teacher. Have you guys ever thought about doing occasional seminars at the garage? I'd pay to take a 2 hour motorcycle class with Chris teaching. There's a local motorcycle garage/co-op work space near me that does classes. It's like 50 bucks for a 2 hour class on basic maintenance or electronics or carburetors, there's a few different ones to chose from. I signed up for a couple classes next month. I'm curious to see how they are.
Cool idea!
@@BlockheadMoto I'm with Dave123 . a maintanace class would be awesome. I would pay for such a class.
I’d pay
I knew it was a master mechanic flex when he broke out the jelly jar full of oil🔥
Master move for sure! 🤘🏼
He’s a walking talking service manual. I’m taking notes off everything he says and does. Incredible level of knowledge and skill he possesses. Very impressed with this channel and content.
I did't see the push rods replaced-put back in, these videos are so well done & very informative
I don't ride, but I like these videos cause I'm learning something.
I'm not even a Harley guy, but I'm loving this series. Super informative, super thorough, and still enjoyable to watch. Congratulations on your well deserved success.
Thanks Josh!
Wish this guy was in Texas. This video, well produced too... Tight content.
Forget motorcycles; can you guys work on and fix my life with this much diligence and attention to detail??
Lol that’d cost much more 😆
Stanceworks level play by play on the tear down & assembly. Usually watching stuff like this gives me anxiety, & I have to fast forward. Great job on the install video guys!
it amazes me just how simple yet complicated ICE are and hoe they work. It's hard to imagine the speed of the all those parts going around and it works.
Definitely appreciate how informative Chris ⛄️ gets with explaining the process. Used to appreciate that about when you guys were building Goldzilla too. Good stuff guys!
As many of us know this, I really appreciate how patient y’all are to help others that aren’t familiar with this get an explanation to this. Many a mechanic forget they once were ignorant about this stuff too and become too cool to help newcomers. Very Cool guys, Very Cool !!! 👍
Your gonna be very successful at that garage man...congrats dude. Awesome!
Not all mechanics have a good attitude like Chris does man your very lucky to have him on your side...
Grateful for the opportunity! It’s not always sunshine and rainbows though 😆
@@BlockheadMoto ....thanks for replying dude...means alot man. I hear ya on the sunshine and rainbows thing, but your motivated to do good things man and that'll bring you success. Gonna have to add blockhead garage on the bucketlist along with kaplan america and tatro machine. Ask Chris if he knows of tatro machine....check him out
Ha! He must already be super busy and successful. Been trying to get a quote from him for months. Tried the website "Contact us" form, facebook posts, etc...etc. Business must be good already.
Great video-would of been helpful to include the installation and adjustment of the pushrods-key part of the installation in my opinion.
Very informative. Now you guys need to work on a 103 so I can see it done to the same engine I have 😉
I’ll see what we can do! 🤘🏼
@@BlockheadMoto Please do! i just got same motor. I subscribed 1st thing. great video!
Best informative video of the Stage 2 I have seen. Chris 🥶 always does a great job explaining
Great content, I like the way you guys show almost step by step instructions and take the time to explain what your doing!
I love these videos. Very entertaining to watch someone so knowledgeable and capable. Love the videos.
Very informative. You both made extra efforts to include the viewer in your video. As a result, we all learned.
Chris is a Genius
One of the most informative videos on the stage 2 I have ever watched.. thanks for your video
"IT'S SCIENCE"...;)
Whoa, that sounds WAY,WAY better!!!
These instructional videos are so cool.
By far the best explanation and demonstration videos I have found….great stuff!!
Well done with this latest series guys, your duo means it's both nicely presented and with enough info to keep things interesting. Thanks and keep it coming.
Finally. Love The dynamic with Chris and Block.
That was way better than just a typical explanation video.
Damn I wish I was an apprentice for Chris - Amazing amount of knowledge - And I am green as green comes - Love these videos
This channel is the best! Love watching and getting some more info. I want to build a bike from scratch (gonna be a long process😬 but I’m hella excited!) and appreciate having a place to get good tips and tricks.
Love these instructional videos.
Ton of great info!! Thanks!!
Thank you for these very informative vids. At 52yrs old I just got my first HD ('13 RK w/unmolested 103) and starting to learn engine upgrades to understand what course of direction I want to go with it. Your vids made learning simple and easy. Great Job!
bought a bike with stage 2! It all makes sense, amazing video, thank you so much for the time and effort! 👍 you guys rock!
WOW! The difference is incredible, before and after. Sounds awesome! Thanks for the detailed video...you guys rock!
More then the sound it’s all about the performance 😊
Really good job. You were able to keep my attention during the whole presentation. Chris is amazing.
Iv watched two of these videos, I'm now a certified Harley Davidson technician. thanks 😅 all jokes aside, great videos and very informative.
Great video!
Great job of explaining the inner workings using visual aids
Just found this channel and I love it. You guys rock! New subscriber for sure
I love these videos and the direction you have taken with this stuff.
Fantastic explanation! I don't know much about Harleys, but your channel's helping change that.
Loving the content found your chancel on your last video about the stage 1 having a stage 1 m8 breakout myself it’s making me consider going for the stage 2.
Awesome video for newbies (like me) wanting to learn about the internals. Subscribed and thank you!
Put a S&S 475 in my M8 114 Breakout and dyno tuned it with power vision software. Made 124 horse and 136 ft lbs of torque. Love this cam.
Awesome video full of great information.
I was wondering if I missed the section about reinstalling the push rods.
I enjoy watching your videos guys, appreciate your experience and knowledge.thanks
So much great info! Thanks y’all! 🙏
I’m learning something new every time I watch. I’m glad can go back and rewatch 👍😎
I like the way you guys took your time to explain your process of up grading to stage two. Do you guys explain the other stages, what is stage three and four? Keep up the good work!
Really wanted to see a more in depth install.
But awesome information loved the delivery as always keep up the good work.
Im happy to report thanks to your videos i just completed my Harley Davidson academy :)
Congrats! 🎉
@@BlockheadMoto thank you so very much
its all because of your videos they gave me the courage i needed
I know Chris has 25 years of experience, but all the knowledge keeps amazing me.
Also, because of these videos i’m really really really thinking of a career switch. And doing something i never knew i would do. Thanks for all the great content and keep it coming.
Much love from the Netherlands!
The jelly jar lifter vacuum idea was genius. Liked, subscribed, bell
You guys explain clearly what you’re doing 👍
Learned a lot even after 30 years, an excellent job with a master mechanic! Thanks
These seriously are great, loving the series. At what point of power increase do you need to start worrying about beefing up the transmission? Does going Stage 3 or 4 introduce more odds of blowing a motor?
Great video series, I'm loving it. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination and have never had interest in any of the inner workings of engines... until now. Thanks for that!
Makes me want to go all the way over to Mr.25 years himself all the way from Texas just to get it done right. I followed a long time ago, since the OG 883. I'll admit I went away after getting my sport bikes, but I've been watching. Watching the growth, dude nothing but congratulations to you and your team. You guys are awesome, like I said, I hope to be able to meet you guys in person one day and leave with my 48 sounding and feeling reeaaallll goood.
Super solid explanation guys. Ive been trying to understand how this works. Made it look easy, but more importantly made it make sense.
You guys are really helping a lot of people with your knowledge and understanding of Harley engines thank you for this con tent I'm getting so close to buying my first Harley and you guys are making a decision little bit easier for me I'm gonna look at your website to find out where you're at actually located thank you.
Great video with break downs of how things work inside the motor. Very elaborate, thanks yall
Really enjoying your podcasts. I can't get enough information about Harley engines. I've gone insane. I used a Screaming Eagle cam plate and oil pump. Hopefully I made a good choice with my.510 S&S cam and gear drive. Less than.002 run out on my 01 twin cam
Really love these videos with Chris, I don't own a Harley yet but it's brilliant to see all these vids on them.
Haha loved the owners reaction :D
He sure makes it look easy.
Awesome video. my only question is how did the push rods go back in? Love seeing all the groms in the shop. I have one also and totally love it. i still need the oil pump and clutch plate mods on my grom.
I don’t ride cruisers, but I’ve watched your channel since around 5k subs mainly because of your quality content. Always like to watch your stuff.
Thanks man, means a lot! 👊🏼
Awesome video thanks guys ! Awesome love watching you work and explain 👍🏻👍🏻🏁🏁
Hey Blockhead. Just traded my indian chieftain fir a Milwaukee 8 and done 115kms (71miles) and had to get my cylinders and barrels replaced. Definitely a Friday bike. Weren't honed round. Loving the videos.
Loved that break down. Thanks for the knowledge
Love the sound of M8s chugging just before they fire. Such a gnarly sound off that FatBoy.
Thanks guys, this is just brilliant, answerd many questions I never actually got to ask, plus closes assumptions I had.
Hey good morning fellas, just got my '22 Softail standard M8 and I love it. Saving up for a stage 1, if I wasn't in Oklahoma I'd be riding to you guys to tune it and learn more. Awesome content gents, much appreciated. Also I subscribed. Lol
The most didactic explanation that´s been given so far. Congrats for the excellent work guys!!!!
Thanks!
i love these videos.very entertaining to watch someone so knowledge and capable love the videos

great Vid. so interesting watching an expert doing his job, and such a clean shop guys !
Learned a lot about how these great machines work!
Awesome tips in this video.
Do you need to break in a cam?
Man I wish I could work in a shop like that, I bet I'd learn a whole bunch
Awewome! First time here and just subscribed.
Okay I subscribed I like your guys' videos I've watched them for a while keep up the work I appreciate it
Thanks. Fascinating video and very interesting. I'm no where near with being comfortable on doing cams myself, but still love the video.
I'm wondering what the stock injectors are good till, deff the best video from theses guys and absolutely enjoy theses
I like these videos, I used to ride Harley's when I could afford them now I have a Road Star 1700 that sounds just like my old Shovelhead... I bought a 2000 deuce (twin cam) that to me did not sound like a Harley at all, I was disappointed and sold it.
Very Informative video. Chris is truly a master mechanic. I admire his workspace and respect for the vehicle. You guys bring the best motorcycle content out there. Thanks Blockhead!!
Great video!! Very informative and clearly presented!!!
Great guys from Phils here. Just bought a 2nd hand HD 48 with vans and hines, screamin eagle. Very interesting video for stage 2 because I'm planning to get it. Thanks guys.
His knowledge on that is amazing and learning how to do it without me even having a motorcycle is mind blowing. Hopefully I get a motorcycle soon
I remember when you used to say hit the bell and be apart of the “Bell Yeah” squad!
Bell yeah! haha
I wish this was uploaded a day ago, I just changed my cams today!!! Everything went well though! Big power improvement with the Wood TW-222 cams!!
As a new 48 owner i have to say you guys are awesome...liked and subbed
For real. Thank you guys for breaking this down to a level that even someone like me can understand what it is you're doing.
The shame of it all ( on my end that is) my father was a master mechanic. I play music myself. Anywho thank you again, thjis is priceless.
Awesome! Thanks guys. Informative, fun, and entertaining video. Best I've seen. I have a Road King Stage 1 which is plenty of power for an old fart like me who's been riding for 50+ years now. Interested in stage 2 maybe but is there a trade-off between power and engine reliability/lifespan when you go to stage 2? If the motor is breathing and working that much more (due to more duration and lift of cam), are you in effect shortening its life and reliability on the road for those long cross country trips? (Maybe I think about this too much since I'm 70+ years old.) Any thoughts appreciated.
Explaining a stage 2: YEA SCIENCE!!
Great video. A lot of good info, keep them coming.
Man, enjoyed watching that! By putting a bigger cam in and diff pushrods, would it be wise to update your valve springs since that cam is going to work them harder?
I love all the explanations of why and how you're doing what you are in the stage 2 upgrade. I would have like to have seen how you got the push rods back in.
Same here! I was looking forward to that and hoping that it would be the most interesting part of the whole video.
You put adjustable rods in from s&s!
Love the content. Best motorcycle channel on CZcams. Chris is 🥶
Well done, yea that woods cam profile would (pun intended) be my choice
Love the questions & explanations for concepts of which I have little knowledge such as why it's better to have a beefier cam. New Sub.
Great video. Have a Stage 2 in my Ultra and Heritage and know first hand the improvement. Love your presentations. Keep up the great work!
How did you get rid of the bucking at low rpm
@@popsproductions8547 Don't really have a problem with off-idle or low rpm bucking. They just pull a LOT stronger through the RMP range. I do a lot of low speed maneuvering practice with cones just as a general rule to improve my control and haven't noticed any problem with low speed friction zone clutching / control.
@@williamokeefe9677 ah yes like preloading to do sharp 8’s. Yes i find myself using the clutch a ton more to solve my issue at slow speeds. But this was doing it up near 2,200 rpm in lower gears. It needed tuned i guess. So we will see how the new bike (Toad King) gets tuned after its stage2. I went power vision this time.
@@popsproductions8547 I've got the standard Harley components. My biggest issues are keeping a steady RPM for low speed practice, actually have found a little higher RPM to help and the friction zone differences. Heritage has cable clutch and a nice wide zone; Ultra is hydraulic with a short zone and fast engagement. Going back and forth takes some attention.
