    Qui-Gon Jinn was arguably the best character in the prequel trilogy. He really exemplified exactly what the jedi are and could be. Simaler to Luke after him, Jinn knew the Republic jedi was outdated. His own ideology was about progress and peace. No matter the cost. He was the one jedi Palpatine feared.

      the jedi order should have seen him as an example of what a jedi truly was. he rejected the dark side instead viewed it as necessary and that the truth was balance. light and dark both as one. the force itself is neither light nor dark but also is light and dark at the same time. in reality the force is what it deems necessary to be and these are why force nexuses exist, often they all prove to be great teachers. a darkside nexus is a place teeming with life and the dark side both and they all often prove to be great teachers for powerful jedi. Yoda's cave being one of Luke's greatest lessons and this planet in the comic is Qui-gon's greatest lesson. the force does not create dark side nexuses for no reason at all, every one of them was always a powerful lesson if one opens themself to it and willing to learn.
      the force may create many other dark side nexuses for force sensitives or jedi to find who are probably fated to create massive ripples in the universe. if Qui-gon didn't find this nexus he probably wouldn't later search for the whills and learn to manifest his consciousness in the force after death

      the dark side is always a part of every living person, it is their worst qualities their greed hate ect. to understand it one must understand themselves truly and utterly. the jedi failed to be the masters of themselves above their mastery over the force. the jedi order's crimes were great, they never even accepted and even forgot that the dark side is simply their worst attributes and when a force user succumbs to their worst attributes its like a poison and it corrupts the force within them. the jedi should never have forgotten that they themselves and every other person in the universe are the origin of the dark side.

  • @joshuahenderson3444

    Qui Gon understood the dark side was a necessity and not something to be in fear of unlike Yoda, he believed the light cannot exist without the dark otherwise there would be no balance hence the Chosen One prophecy, Qui Gon relied on common sense and followed The Force the Jedi relied on strict codes and establishment and that is why the Jedi was doomed to fail

    • @fangslore9988
      @fangslore9988 Před 7 měsíci

      yes, he understood that the dark side is a part of us, a part of himself it was the worst attributes of a individual something to be accepted, learned from and while kept a distance from to a lesser degree embraced. a part of the dark side is ambition and this alone could take a jedi far in life but what that ambition is and where it takes you is a major factor. Qui-gon's ambition was always in dispaly his ambition was to listen to the force to embrace it. one can gain wisdom in recognizing and acknowledging one's own darker side without embracing it or letting it lead to the wrong ends.
      basically he knew he had this dark side and he learned from it and acknowledged it was there and yet he always made sure he never acted on these darker impulses. this is why Anakin was so emotionally messed up, he was brought into the order and he had the lessons designed to indoctrinate little children into suppressing their darker side and pretending that it never existed. a jedi can utilize passion, ambition and healthily tap into their greed and anger when they need to but the code.
      "There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity." the unfortunate truth is that 2 parts of this code is inherently dangerous because it ignores the truth.
      "There is no emotion, there is peace" this ignores that the dark side is the darkest parts of a person their darker side
      "Peace is a lie, there is only passion, through passion, I gain strength.
      Through strength, I gain power, through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me." you can see how the sith have admirable qualities albeit misguided
      "There must be both dark and light. I will do what I must to keep the balance, as the balance is what holds all life. There is no good without evil, but evil must not be allowed to flourish. There is passion, yet peace; serenity, yet emotion; chaos, yet order. I am a wielder of the flame; a champion of balance. I am a guardian of life. I am a Gray Jedi." the grey jedi code seems to be more holistic to life itself and to the force as retconned by Gorge Lucus in Star wars the clone wars season 6. it is us who make the force light or dark and by accepting that we have both in us we master ourselves without bending either way.
      in short the jedi and sith codes limit their members and force them to accept a dogmatic view of the force and it limits how both sides view the force and view themselves. Qui-gon was understanding the force was so much bigger than just the light and dark it was almost beyond his ability to comprehend yet he found a way to comprehend it anyway if star wars does bring back the grey jedi they could be brought in as a faction who understood and learned from their own dark sides and are willing to tap into their negative aspects for power when needed in order to bring peace and balance to the universe.

    My personal opinion on "Grey Jedi" is that it is a very interesting concept that shouldn't be over used or lightly used.
    I believe Qui Gon Jinn was a Jedi and perhaps one of the only true Jedi left during this Era. Count Dooku when given the truth embraces a darker road and was Yodas former apprentice before he fell. Sometimes i think if Yoda was able to see that he failed as a master that Qui Gon woulda been more listened to and respected thus making the Jedi more aware and connected The "Duel of Fates" OST is articulated and Befitting inn more ways than 1. I imagine every Jedi that began to grow and see the truth was more than likely to find them selfs at a crossroads once they hit a certain level. Either embrace the force itself and trust inn it or handle it by trusting your own power. Not a decision any Man or Woman or Child would execute with ease given Plaqueis's and Sidious's End game plan was already set into motion.
    I'm a bit passionate with Star Wars.

    Probably a terrible way to put this but I feel like Yoda may have actually been one of the biggest detriments to the Jedi overall. He was strong in the ways of the light side of the force but his focus was pretty narrow and he tended to project that on both those he taught and the Jedi as a whole. And the fact that he was so respected and well thought of as being the "Ideal" Jedi, seemed to reinforce the rigidity that the Jedi had started to find themselves wallowing in. It's honestly surprising how many famous Jedi that he taught or was close to became Dark side users or just outright went bad. That being said, I still like the tiny monk and think he really did show Luke a good foundation once he had reached the end of his days and was able to properly reflect on life. Also, Qui-Gon is who definitely should have had the most hand in training Anakin. The Sith really blew that one.

    Qui-Gon's discovery here makes sense. By hiding from something, by never facing it, you give it too much power. You don't know how to deal with emotional issues when they come up, you get frustrated, angry, and as a result are consumed. Passions can lead to evil acts, but to experience passion, and do what is right in spite of them. That is something the Pre-Clone Wars Jedi, and Banite Sith didn't understand, they despised each other's views, and sought only to destroy each other. Anakin fell because he could not reconcile his desires with the dogma of the Jedi. Had Qui-Gon lived he might have saved Anakin and the galaxy from the Sith, by teaching Anakin to deal with his feelings, not let go, but actually deal with them. His loss was...a tragedy.

    in truth the force is neither light nor dark but it is balanced except for the fact those who peruse the dark side and those who peruse the light tip the balance. when light and dark side nexuses are found, it is all to often they are places those sensitive with the force can learn greater lessons though what these lessons are is up to the individual.

    Have you done a proper video on balance in the force? Because I legitimately don't understand it. Why would the light ever want balance with the dark? The dark is bad, the dark corrupts so how can you find balance with it? It was always my understanding that the 'light side' was the force and dark side was just a perversion of the natural force.

    • @Lolstupidity
      @Lolstupidity Před 8 měsíci

      I think the idea is that either side of the force can corrupt you. Finding balance is about allowing yourself to feel the full range of emotions, whilst also remaining disciplined enough to show restraint.

    • @CelticShaman.
      @CelticShaman. Před 8 měsíci

      @@Lolstupidity how does the light corrupt? The word corruption in and of itself has negative connotations. And even if it does corrupt is that a bad thing? Star wars is still very light is good dark is bad so taking that into account I'm trying to figure out why anyone would want to not be 100% good. And of course I'm not saying that everyone that utilizes the light side is an untouchable paragon of goodness, I'm simply saying that the light in and of itself is good and all the powers and benefits it provides are beneficial and selfless whereas the dark side is selfish and power hungry

    • @Lolstupidity
      @Lolstupidity Před 8 měsíci

      @@CelticShaman. you can see how the light corrupts by looking at the Jedi of the prequel trilogy. They were so disciplined and restrained, that they refused to acknowledge their emotions. This also resulted in them refusing to help those in need, simply because it went against the Jedi code, or the wishes of the Republic senate.

      @@CelticShaman. I think the narrator put it best. QGJ didn't go to the dark side, but he was aware of it, to the point of understanding it has a place/function/existence. The 100% full jedi were so caught up in their rules and traditions, they missed the dark right in front of them, literally in the same room. The Force showed QGJ things because he sought them out, and trusted the Force. The Jedi were religious zealots that were trying to make the Force serve them. Yoda realized this, eventually, as we see when he is training Luke.

    • @CelticShaman.
      @CelticShaman. Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@jaythor70 but the Jedi were full of themselves specifically because they were not following the will of the force. That didn't have anything to do with being too full of the light. In fact had they been more full of the light things might not have gone down the way they did. But they did not listen to the force and only listened to themselves which I think doesn't answer my original question. The reason the Jedi of the clone wars failed is not because they were corrupted by the light but because they lacked it to begin with.

    Most people forget the true origins of the jedi and sith orders. Tython is the home of a order of force users calling themselves jedii. They practice balance between light and dark sides of the. It was when they were invaded by another civilisation strong in the darkside of the force that things would begin to change. Eventually the first schism happened and what would eventually go on to become the jedi and sith orders respectively began.
    However my knowledge is somewhat limited so my advice is to seek knowledge and understanding from as many sources as possible if you want to be as informed as possible. Kind regards from Daniel Harman.

Someone please offer better explanation I’m going off of knowledge I had years ago idk what’s new and canon or wtf

    I disagree. This comic is not about Qui-Gon learning from the dark side or combining both the light side and the dark side. Rather, it illustrates that in the pursuit of fighting the dark side, a Jedi can commit terrible acts that may cause them to fall to the dark side themselves. Jedi must avoid becoming warriors and instead follow the will of the Force, as Qui-Gon did. The dark side of the Force can be destroyed not only through battle but also through compassion, enabling those who have fallen to the dark side to return to balance and the light side. This is symbolized by the beautiful red flower that blooms from plants cured of the corruption of the dark side.
