You guys need to make a short where Dean is on his way to see the Flash and is stopped by his future self who tried to warn him about it, then the universe starts to collapse, and then you see a bunch of young bad CG versions of the Corridor crew.

I love how more chill and comfortable Dean looks in the Coridor team, compared to when he joined. Hes really found his space there.

Dean being in this kind of pain is just as funny as Jordan's and Matt's pain from the Steve Segal podcast.
I hate how Barry supposedly goes back in time to save his mother but doesn't care enough about her to find out who killed her. She becomes such an afterthought very early in the movie that the emotional heart of it vanishes.
Then on top of that he also never learned his lesson the big thing was he was supposed to accept he can't save his Mom or mettle with time but he still does it and saves his Dad from prison

I truly dig how uncomfortable Dean seems as he is trying to explain such an important subject to him as a fan and the rest of the crew just trying to be involved in the conversation by ignorantly trolling the subject with random unfunny comments, this feels like every fan of anything trying to pass through his passion to other people that in reality they just don't care 😓
The irony is that there's a perfectly good (really good in fact) animated version of Flashpoint to reference. Looking forward to 'Some Guy: The Movie'
So Jay Garrick was actually in the most recent Flash show and the only reason we know they used a crew member for the face was because the actor who played Jay Garrick saw the movie and was like "Was that me I don't remember being in this movie" because it did look like him.
Also Nicolas Cage Superman was fighting a spider because the director who I guess took over after Tim Burton was obsessed with the final act being fighting a giant spider. He did Wild Wild West soon after. Kevin Smith goes into get detail about it.
It wasn't the Director. It was the producer that wanted the spider. That is a Kevin Smith story.

'some guy' is the new credits scroll. We used AI to make the characters, used the sound guy for the model, made the whole movie without actors.
The Flash was my first film in the industry. And I am a big DC fan, so I was in geeky heaven! Got to walk around the Batcave and other sets. The code name for the production was Baby Shower because of the hospital scene. They even built the lower part of the Hospital on the back lot at Leavesden where the Ambulance collapses into the ground. As a film it's not perfect but I thought it was better than I expected, even if I'm biased as I worked on it and my name is in the credits!

Always love it when the Crew has a podcast where they just rip into something bad they've seen recently/this year. Its always amusing seeing their logical breakdown of it and gives me a good laugh.
They just need to put a full budget behind an animated DC film.
I relate so hard with Dean here, both in terms of disliking The Flash movie and in terms of trying to explain the weirder-but-still-awesome elements of comics and having those concepts mocked. I know they’re just joking and don’t have any actual ill will, both on the podcast and in life, but at a point it does get a little annoying, because we comic fans really do love these characters and concepts no matter how weird they get.

WB animation does have a Flashpoint Paradox film and other films. They even had a universe series of animated films spanning a bunch of heroes.
I wonder if Dean has seen it. I thought it was actually a great animated movie (but to be fair, I don't have much original comic book knowledge to compare it to).
I had refused to watch this movie, and after this podcast I'm glad with the decisions on my life, thank you Dean.

The Nick Cage thing is actually worse than Dean describes it. Sure, the idea of Cage as Superman is mostly just a meme at this point, but how many people know that the giant spider is part of the meme? The whole thing stems from a story told a thousand times by Kevin Smith, who wrote the initial screenplay for the film. Smith met with the producer of the film, Jon Peters, who insisted that Superman had to fight a giant spider in the third act. Smith writes the scene, but obviously, the movie never happens. Fast forward to the next year, Wild Wild West comes out, and it has a giant mechanical spider in the third act. And take a wild wild guess who produced the movie...Jon fuckin Peters.
The entire scene isn't just a callback to an obscure meme, it's a callback to an obscure, mostly-unknown story Kevin Smith tells people at conventions.

I relate to Dean's feeling with Superhero content in reference to the comics. Comics are so superior in planning stories that intersect with other series to tell a long narrative to just watch movies that burn to think about, I get it.

The Flash was in development since at least 2004. Warner Brothers wanted to make a Flash movie since the 80's, but they started in earnest by hiring David S. Goyer to write and direct one in 2004.

To the credit of the Flashpoint comic Barry going back in time to save his mother alters everything that happens after it in that timeline. Instead of his parents dying Bruce Wayne dies which motivates his father to become Batman early on and his mom has a psychotic break after losing her child. The universe created by these ripples are the effect of this. The Flash film doesn’t even try to lineup it’s convolution in a plausible more coherent way. Barry going back in time and saving his mom in the early 2000s somehow makes a another worlds Batman from 1992 and a gender swapped Kal-El stand in exist in Barry’s timeline!? It’s the laziest most nonsensical way of shoehorning in what they thought would be a popular cameo. It’s so pathetic and as a huge DC fan it’s beyond anger inducing.
I thought Bruce's parents were killed before Barry's mom in the comics so Flashpoint did change things from the past too. And Supergirl isn't gender swapped Kal because he exists but was intercepted by Zod before reaching earth

In defense of the whole Nick Cage cameo choice, I remember when Marvel fans were going absolutely nuts over the mere rumor that Tom Cruise would be making a cameo as Iron Man, because apparently he turned down the original role way back when or something like that. Like Nick said, companies have learned that its those "what if this actor actually got the chance to play them" cameos that drives engagement up a wall.

The Flash CW show had a Jay Garrick played by John Wesley Shipp. He also played Barry Allen in the CBS's "The Flash" in the 90s. He was a more recognizable Jay than just some dude, fans of the Flash CW show would recognize him at least.
CW Flash had some high highs when they did their multiverse with Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and Black Lightning. Because like Dean and Jordan said with the Thanos and Endgame comparison.

Phantom Menace Syndrome... I remember so well that odd feeling as the credits rolled on Episode I. My friends seemed to like it, and I certainly didn't roast it at the time. But it was like getting a pair of socks as your one and only christmas present. That feeling definitely deserves a good name. But we all expected it to be good. Why in the world would anyone expect this thing to be good? When was the last time anything even remotely original was made?
This flash movie felt like I was watching one of those classic crappy cgi movies from a ClearTV antenna 😂

The joker from The Joker movie wasn't batman's Joker. That was the guy that inspired Batman's joker to exist by being the calamity he was in his time. Killing the comedy host on live television was seen by batman's joker as a totally otherwise unrelated kid.
