Zulum Calls For Establishment Of Army Base In Sambisa Forest

The Borno state Governor Babagana Zulum is of the opinion that to end insurgency in the Northeast region, a military base should be established in Sambisa Forest and around the Lake Chad basin and Mandara mountains.
He stated this when the house of representatives committee on army visited him at the Borno state government house in Maiduguri.
He also urged the Army to provide security support and grant access to farmers to engage in their agricultural activities stressing that it is the only source of livelihood and business opportunities for the communities.
The governor who wants the Army to establish military base in Sambisa forest and the Lake Chad region explained that ending insurgency in the Northeast means an end to insecurity in the country.
