These people who were interviewed were all of the opinion that Rauhl Gandhi would have won if he had contested. But the Congress leaders themselves didnt think so. Rahul basically ran away from another humiliating defeat. ( There is no humiliation in losing an election but if you are going around the country being promoted as a "future" PM and talk as if you are qualified to judge the world and then lose miserably to an "outsider" then it would be humiliating). In Rahul's case Congi's loss this time may be attributed to him.
