- Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, the sequel to the 2000 classic Chicken Run. Needless to say, it was a lifeless cash grab, nothing more, nothing less. Fuck you Aardman.
Also shoutout @CosmicGeass and @vvixxxenn for their appearances in the video.

"Why are you surprised? Chickens thrive on corn!"
Oh well, doesn't look like i'm missing much...
7:15 well that is actually a thing, basically when an animal dies their muscles can tense up which makes the meat tougher and less tender.
This is why in actual farming animals are killed quickly and painlessly.
You know what? I think I actually learned something today. Thank you
Okay but I saw on Netflix that they were gonna remove the original chicken run off of there streaming service on February 14th??????????? Why????
They stay that only to bring it back. I've seen this happen before
I actually think that Wallace and Gromit are getting a new movie in 2024. I really hope it turns out good because I really really dont want aardman to die.
It's hard to fuck up Wallace and Gromit. Aardman better get their shit together istg
Peter Sallis has long since passed, there's no way the 2024 film will hold a candle to classic Wallace & Gromit.
@@AbrasiousProductions you're probably right but Wallace and Gromit been consistent from the start, at least for me
Given that Chicken Run is my favourite movie, it is genuinely deeply upsetting just how bad this movie is. As evidence of how much I disliked it, I couldn't finish it in one sitting.
It is rare that a sequel to a great movie is as good or better than the original, but most I have seen are at least good movies. However, this is one case where the sequel is not just bad but actively besmirches the goodness of the original. Even though I've seen worse movies that happened to be sequels, Dawn of the Nugget has my vote for the worst sequel I've ever seen.
FACTS
I agree with everything you said
There are worse sequels, WAY WORSE actually, but Dawn of the Nugget is one that gets me the most angry
18:05 I mean, I remember a lot about The Pirates Band of Misfits and Arthur Christmas. I wouldn’t really say they’re forgettable.
Understandable
@@croclordrusteze Cool.
Hey i have a fun suggestion for movie reviews: Steven Seagal's DTV movies from 2003-2019
Even thought I like the movie, I will agree it's not as great as the original. My favorite part about this sequel is that they got Bella Ramsay as Molly since Bella did a grand job voicing the titular character in Hilda (Amazing show I recommend watching that series and its movie). Ever since that show concluded last month, I hope Bella Ramsay increases her reputation with going to voice more movies and tv shows.
Bella was Ellie in The Last of Us (2023) and a character in Game of Thrones, I don't think they have to worry too much about their reputation but I'd love to see them in more stuff.
Honestly the biggest issue I have with it is Ginger. She went from a selfless and brave leader to a selfish overbearing coward who only cares for her own freedom.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that didn't really like this movie. It was just so disappointing compared to the original
Fr, even with the little bit of hope I might've had, it still failed miserably
@@croclordrusteze I had to stop halfway through. The story should have ended in 30-40 minutes but they kept dragging it with none of the charm
@@moonlightmystery7306 YO I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO FELT THAT WAY
You made the right decision dropping it midway thru
Honestly, I don't think it's fair to passionately blame Aardman for this movie's failings. Sure, their recent movies weren't necessarily as strong or timeless as their earlier works, but there are still a lot of talented folks at the studio who maintain its iconic mix of creativity and claymation. The stellar animation in this film proves that Aardman still has those creative muscles in them and are always upgrading their craftsmanship and bringing on a new generations of artists to deliver the best possible work they can. I mean, their holiday special Robin, Robin and their Star Wars Visions short were AMAZING! In fact, many would say Aardman's greatest works are actually their short films, and not so much their feature films.
Anyways, there are two people I'd actually blame for this movie's shortcomings:
1. Netflix: Say what you say about how Aardman allegedly shunned Julia Sawalha, the original voice of Ginger, for her voice being "too old". But Netflix does have a history of executive meddling in the films they distribute, and it REALLY shows in this film. For example, playing it too safe; something Netflix is infamous for (yet somehow they let Guillermo del Toro go out all with his Pinocchio movie and look how that turned out ^^)
2. Karey Kirkpatrick, the writer of the original Chicken Run returned to write the sequel... and let's just say his works following Chicken Run like Over the Hedge, Smallfoot and Imagine That would pale in comparison. And his dip in creativity after all these years is quite evident with how he "crafted" the sequel's hack-job of a story.
Honestly, it was entertaining not the best maybe but it’s certainly something for people to enjoy because I understand the reasons on some of them and besides they are nothing like those corrupt bureaucrats in places
I was so excited for the sequel and started to get disappointed when they did a montage scene with a modern song. Half the charm of the original was the custom instrumental soundtrack
I agree.
It was a perfectly serviceable film. This genuinely seemed like nearly 20 minutes of over exaugurated schizo rants.
I respect your opinion yet you don't see me say that you're wrong or your damage controlling
@@croclordrusteze Yet you state your opinion like it's a fact in the title for clickbait.
@@buzzytrombone4353 you saying that like my opinion is the only opinion that matters. No shit it's my opinion. Hell if you like the movie then fine
@@croclordrusteze Again lad, you stated it like it was a fact in the title so that's on you.
@@buzzytrombone4353 you the gullible one who took it like I'm the end all be all with this movie, cuz I'm not LMAO
Well, for me, Aardman is not dead.
So, I have to say, Chicken Run 2 was great!
The animation is spectacular.
The characters, for me. are at least funny.
One issue I have is Mrs. Tweedy returning is ridiculous.
Share if you agree, if you don't, that's ok, I highly respect your opinion.
What rating would you give?
Mine is a 9/10.
And I respect yours, thanks for commenting your thoughts
@@croclordrusteze Your welcome.😘🙂
Saying F*ck You Aardman in the description, and commenting about the studio itself to get their shit together makes you act rather immature.
Plus, this is technically produced by Netflix Animations as well (given their productions)
Funny how you pointed out a reply to one of my comments. Technically produced by Netflix barely counts cuz Aardman was the ones that made it in the first place. And if it was me saying Fuck you Disney, would you say the same thing?
Rio 2 is worst
Its not bad its okay
Iryo
11:17 typical modern sequel. Focus on a "strong independent woman" and completely sideline any male leads of the original.
Understandable. What annoyed me was that he was the lead alongside Ginger in the original, and he was reduced to a side character
Except both had arcs, despite the fact, the first film was about imprisoned and laboured females, dipstick.
Could not get through the intro. Don't make it so long and so entirely irrelevant to the title. Also, your audio quality is horrible and is actually painful to listen to.
It's called a comedy skit, you can easily skip it. Did you miss the part where I said "I don't even like Chicken Run 2". The audio quality is a fair criticism but what you said about the intro is just plain dumb.
Do you have any thoughts on the movie itself? Like do you disagree with any of my points? If not then I don't understand why you're even commenting in the first place
It was relevant to the title though. Just say you have a short attention span and call it a day tbh. 🤷🏽♂️
Bruh is just an opinion!
