Actually how to get blender starts at 0:06
This needs more likes
Thank you
Some tutorials don't take the time to explain things they 'assume' you already should know. THANK YOU for not being one of them. This was a fantastic tutorial!
Thank you for the awesome comment :D
Honestly like how do i move the screen 😂
THIS IS SO AWESOME THANKS!!!
@@Z5Z5Z5 3 months late but press shift and f together
I totally agree, explained very weel.
please make a complete series on blender
That's the plan, but it will happen over time as I'm pretty slow at making tutorials and still want to do other software tools :)
@@passingthrough... 3....years...later....still no sign.
I already know blender but learning blender from u , would be as good as getting a degree
Haha, don't know whether my tutorials would be certifiable, but it's great to hear you're enjoying them!
This video has taught me more in it's short time, than the last few years have... Thanks for putting it together!
Definitely, continue with the series! They are very easy to understand.
Thank you, that is great to hear :)
My kitten is watching your video like it needs to understand how to use Blender.
LOL, made me laugh :D
I bet its animating mice to trick his cat friends
Cats are learning how to use tools like this to create diagrams to send to each other. The diagrams are to help them plot the taking over of the world... and how they can get cheeseburger.
I wonder, What stories would your kitten tell us?
Please keep us abreast of this important development.
:DD
Great video, really like how you took the extra effort to show the areas you clicked on and the keys used. Covering the basics and how to undo settings was extremely helpful. Some of the other introduction videos I watched just mention the action but not the icon and/or key used. Please continue to produce more videos and providing great step by step instructions.
Really well explained and recorded Ive seen a few blender videos now and yours is by far one of the easiest to understand, good job
Thank you for the awesome feedback!
thanks, this gave me the perfect start with much background knowledge about the program, nice
You are welcome :) Great to hear you found the tutorial helpful!
Your tutorials are always the best ones!
Very easy to watch and understand without being overwhelmed with unneeded information. There are so many tutorials, but none of them is so interesting and joyful as yours! Bravo and keep going!
Thank you very much for the feedback! Great to hear you enjoyed the tutorial :)
honestly, think u deserve more subs with these ammounts of efforts, and i see that almost every comment from others you answered it, that's the real meaning of the best youtubers ever, you give knowledge to alot of people, i hope we all your audiences can support you by watching ur vids and supporting u always
Thank you so much for the awesome comment :) I *really* appreciate my audience and this friendly little community that has formed around my channel and try to reply to as many as I can - it's getting a bit too much though lately, but I will keep answering as much as I can :)
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!! This Tutorial is absolutely amazing!! I learned so much in half an hour! :)
You are very welcome :D Thank you very much for your comment!
thanks for actually starting with the real basics and not assuming i already know how to do something. now time to jump onto ur next tut. good job!
You’re welcome, thanks for the friendly comment! Glad you liked the video
Simply the best blender tutorial i've ever seen. Please continue with the series!!
Thank you so much for the awesome comment :)
Thank you for this tutorial, I've been trying to get back to Blender, and a perfect way to return and refresh it with you, also starting your AE tutorials to fresha that up :D thaks
You're welcome, glad to hear you found my tutorial useful :) I'm getting into Blender more and more myself so likely will be making more tutorials!
this was a great tutorial, I work part time so hope to self teach myself so I can work on some personal projects. Thank you x
Thank you for the great feedback - nice to hear that you found the video helpful!
This is the best Blender for absolute beginners video on CZcams BY FAR. You cover everything we need to know, AND, I didn't want to shoot myself in the head! Thanks bro. Keep them coming, we'll keep watching.
Thank you very much for the awesome feedback :) Very much appreciated! Great to hear you are enjoying my tutorials!
Also very nice! - now I will go back to the next one in the series to revise the things I will need for my first job - thanks!
Your videos save me, I have Blender on my PC for a while now, but was to scared to touch it.
This video is extremely helpful
That's great to hear! I really gotta make an updated version of this tutorial for version 2.80 of Blender :D
@@SurfacedStudio Please do!!
Oh God, now Blender! Maaan, you're freaking awesome!!!
:D
This was SOOO helpful, I've been so apprehensive in getting into 3d because it seemed so difficult when even trying, and I have a MAC, so I also had to figure out the MAC version of the keys as well as setting up the user preferences for Mac, but this was so great! Thank you so much!
Thank you very much for the awesome feedback :D Happy to hear you found it helpful! This is only part 1 in a complete beginner series / playlist - do let me know if you like (or not like) the other videos! Always keen to get feedback!
I have been trying to get into Blender for some time. You are helping to make that possible. Thank you!
No worries at all, glad to hear you found the tutorial helpful :)
great video, i would love to learn about modeling, rigging and animating, and how to render or export an animation to be used as a video. thanks again.
Thank you for the feedback! Glad to hear you liked the video and more tutorials will be coming soon(ish) :)
YES YES YES
You Mister,
You are doing saints work.
Thumbs up!
Thanks man!
I must thank you for saving my time searching for the basics of a 3D program. I never used any 3D program different from AE and it's not quite like blender or other software's. Getting the hang of it and it's so easy and you opened many doors for me, thank you :)
Thank you very much for the awesome feedback, great to hear you found the tutorial useful. Given the positive response I've been getting I will likely be making more Blender tutorials soon :)
Thanks! Very comprehensive guide! Looking forward to learning more! :)
amazing as always
Thank you so much!
I am glad that now I decided to learn blender.. thanks for making tutorial and we hope that u can make vfx part of blender..
Thanks, more Blender tutorials will be coming soon..ish :D
Great video. This is the first time I have seen blender. I have it downloaded and will be following all of your tutorials. Thank you ever so much.
You are very welcome :) Glad you found the tutorial useful!
You are so refreshing to watch. Thank you for the tutorials!
Aaaaw, thank you so much. Happy to hear you're enjoying my... um... different type of humour haha!
Please continue the Blender Tutorials. All aspects of Blender would be quite helpful, and please make them for Beginners 👍🏻
Thank you :) And yes, they will likely be beginner tutorials... at first :D

Great video, man! I usually worked with Maya, so it was pretty hard for me to switch to Blender, but your tutorial really helped^^ I like the customization options, doing that in Maya is quite the hassle *gg*
Thank you for the comment! Happy to hear you got something useful out of the tutorial :)
Finally a tutorial that explains keybinds. I tried two other videos that didn't really explain them much and I was immediately lost when they started flying around the screen without explaining how. 10/10
Thank you very much for the awesome comment :) Great to hear you enjoyed my tutorial!
I'm really glad you made this! I've been trying to learn Blender for months now and have had so much trouble. I pretty much just gave up on it because I was so confused. I would definitely love a full series on Blender but I think the main thing I want to learn next is modeling. Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you for the awesome comment! Given how many people are giving me a thumbs up on this tutorial I think there shall be many more... :) Some more basics first, but I hope to get to the advanced stuff eventually too
This is what we are waiting from you for a long time. Thanks!
That worked out well :)
I learned a lot, thanks
You are welcome!
For a total beginner, this tutorial was amazing & very helpful! Keep going your cool work!🤩🤩
I'm absolutely beginning to fall in love with Blender! Thanks for helping.
No worries :)
Thank you. I've been putting back to learn blender. This really helped me. Sub'd
Thank you for the support :)
Please do some modeling tutorials! I've been wanting to get my feet wet in Blender, and I trust you to help get me in the right direction!
Thank you :) I intend to make more - assuming people want more
Awesome, I'm hyped!
The way u teach is amazing.
thank you so so much! this is really helpful in getting started
Please make a modeling tutorial! I could really use some more good quality blender tutorials :)
Because of this tutorial i finally really understand the basics of blender, i mostly had issues with the basic shortcuts. (I already know about lighting, texturing and animating(in Source film maker and Cinema 4D))
I've put it on my official to-do list :) Just need to find the time
The Steve from Minecraft, would be nice
well, a month later, he made one...
please continue the series.
That is the plan and given the comments I am getting on this tutorial it is HIGHLY likely to continue :D
I know this is a bit old you probably moved on to bigger and better things but I thank you so much for putting th time an effort into these videos to show people how to use blender. I really do appreciate it!
Thank you so much for the awesome comment :) I really appreciate it and happy to hear you enjoyed the tutorial!
OH THANK GOOSH. This is super helpful and one day ill be good if i continue to watch your videos.
If you're like me and can't get used to selecting with the RMB youcan change it in the Preferences to the LMB. File>User Preferences and in the Input tab you van change it to Left.
Just an FYI.
Good to know :) I actually don't mind the RMB selection, it's just something different to get used to
You did look pretty comfortable using it but I figured some of the other folks would like to know. I just started using Blender so if you can provide more tutorials it would be great.
Thank you, I very much appreciate the feedback (and the info) :)
Best Blender Tutorial! I finally understand it! Can you please make another tutorial how to animate a character to composite it on video. Example: Transformers
I will get to 3D integration later on, I want to cover all the basics first :) I have a 3D integration series for AE + 3dsMax on my channel already you can check out in the meantime. The principle is exactly the same, just the software changes
This helped me out soo much thank u, this is by far my most favorite tutorial. Everything is perfect because u explain everything and that just helps me out alot. Thank u.
Thank you for the comment :) Glad to hear you're enjoying my tutorials!
I already worked with blender a little bit - still learned something new.
Hei tobias. First of all I wud like to thanx for your tutorials.....please upload modeling tutorials too.
Thank you for the comment :) I will make more Blender tutorials - people seems to have enjoyed this one
WAS WAITING for this Tutorials of BLENDER from you as much as I waited for GOT season 7 :)
Happy that my wishes came true on the same day ;)
No offence...Andrew kramer is confined only to AE tuts
GreyscaleGorilla to cinema4D
Only Surfaced studio covers all the tutorials on Visual Effects
Love from India...God Bless you

Thank you so much for the awesome feedback Ravi. I am always a little concerned whether I am spreading out too much, but I feel there's just so many cool tools out there and I want to try them all, learn them all - and then show everyone else how to use them :)
I am just getting into Blender, but so far been getting a HUGE positive response to this tutorial so I like will make more. And of course there will be more for AE, HitFilm, Mocha, Houdin and all the other awesome tools that exist :)
Thank you so much!
Greetings from Australia (ok, also from Walter)!
You are an amazing teacher, I've never used Blender before and I understood everything! Thank you so much!
Thank you for the awesome comment :) Great to hear you found the tutorial helpful!
Please continue! Its a very useful series
:D Thank you for the feedback!
I would really like to see tutorial of game character designing
great video, i use blender but have a very basic knowledge. please do more blender videos. your videos helped me learn premiere pro.
Thank you :) I do plan to make more
Dude, even if this series sucks and you start speaking about polygons and Boolean counts like "absolute beginners" would have a cooking clue of what that meant, you still get my thumbs up for that hilarious splash picture!
Thanks for explaining it so clearly, still got caught in the panel multiplication hell, half way through , but got it under control now.
That left hand panel looks so useful! I can't find it or where to open any of those tabs in the most recent version. I'm sure they've been streamlined/moved somehow but as a newbie I'm feeling lost lol can anyone help me access those features?
For anyone wondering:
*_You can change the Mouse Setting, so you can select with LMB instead of RMB._*
Yup, you could do that in the old version of Blender too - in Blender 2.80 is the default :D
The best blender tutorial I've found I hope you have or will do more on material and modeling
Thank you for the comment :) This is part 1 of a 8 part beginner series on my channel
thanks for doing this, I'm definitely looking forward to learning how to model in Blender.
The program you’ve recorded is somewhat outdated, and i’m having stuggles finding stuff since some things have been added and changed-
you can install an older version of blender, if you are a beginner than small changes to the interior of the application won't matter, as this tutorial will still be able to make sense. for reference, the version of blender used in this video is 2.78
What'd you think watching a video that was made 3 years ago?
lol, I'm having the same problem. I have 2.90.1 and _immediately_ things are diff. I left the opening screen he 'clicked away' at default, and select is defaulted to left click. Now I have _NO IDEA_ how to move or use the round cursor thingy. 10 mins in and already frustrated xD
@@grimuk3817 If your having trouble look up the blender official YT channel as they have an entire blender 2.8 tutorial series explaining everything. It is in their playlists, you are able to follow along with the most recent version of blender 2.91. I downloaded blender yesterday and im basically going through anythng i can find related to 3D moddeling for tabletop wargaming scenery.
If you want a link to the 1st video in the series it's here:
czcams.com/video/MF1qEhBSfq4/video.html
Happy learning :)
@@alexbevan2183 Nah I junked that release out and use the 2.92 ALPHA - stable and perfect. But ty all the same.
The next tutorial should be about animating!!! it would be SOOO COOL! RIGHT!? OR...........
Animating will likely come a little bit further down the line :) Most likely basic modeling is next
Surfaced Studio Sure! 😊 👌
p.s.s. santosh hi myself 👋
I didn't watched the whole video yet but i subscribed ! i think you are a really great teacher!
thank you i asked you to make the video on blender i guess its 5-6 months back and you said you will and here you go you made one thank you for that and am looking forward for more of this series and as always your explanation is on point
I am not the fastest at making tutorials, but I do get there eventually :) Great to hear that you enjoyed the tutorial and I do plan to make more!
We have all heard, Surfaced Studio is good at wrestling.
But i bet he can't pin me!
Now, try to pin him
What is this??? It seems you know every software...
3d and vfx both...
That's why it seems I subscribed you..
Hehe, thank you :) I don't think I know all software tools terribly well, but I like to learn lots of new ones all the time :)
Thanks for simple to the point tutorial ! Really appreciate the amount of efforts put behind in creating this and compressing so many important points in below 30 minutes. Will surely watch it again .
Thank you for the comment! Glad to hear you liked it :D
This is the best series on Blender! Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together.
No worries :) Glad to hear you're enjoying the series - there will be more tutorials coming soon :D
My layout is displayed different so its basically impossible for me to learn that
same
This tutorial is 2 1/2 years old, of course it changed since.
Cuz you are using blender 3.0
Thx to you I've started to learn to use blender during this quarantine. Thx u so much. I hope I can really be a good designer or modeller or at least feed my child through this work
All the best and good luck! Blender is a great tool and you can do some pretty awesome stuff with it :)
You are one of the best teachers on CZcams! Fantastic Video and a Fantastic program. I got it just to crate videos of my music over a single image with a visual waveform animation on top but now I've got better plans.
That's exciting! Thank you for the comment - nice to hear you're getting something useful out of my videos :)
Just awesome. Please, we need more videos like this.
:D More tutorials are in the making!
I have been watching your tuts. for a while now. I learned something new in Houdini from you! I have been learning Houdini for a little while now. I have the Indie Houdini and would like to put a vote in for another of your "basics" tutorial if I may! Great stuff by the way! I know it's a lot of work.
Thank you very much :) I have been (slowly) making more Houdini tutorials too, but I've been a bit challenged for time lately. There will be more coming soon hopefully :) More for everything I say!
Thanks this was really easy to follow and understand, also pleasant to watch
Thank you for the comment :) That’s great to hear!
it's my first time with Blender , things are getting clearer with your very helpful and fun tuto so thanks !!

Youre channel is amazing! Youre doing a great service by helping us learn to use these softawares!
Thanks man, glad to hear you're enjoying my tutorials :)
Awesome tutorial. I've wanted to get into using Blender for a while now, but it looked rather intimidating. This is a GREAT beginner tutorial. I'll be downloading and installing ASAP! Please do more of these. This one was excellent!
Thank you so much for the awesome comment! :) Really appreciated!
Holy Moly! Thank you for turning me on to this, I had no idea about Blender before this video and I will definitely be checking it out!
I would like to thank you so much for your videos and tutorials. I have grown from zero experience to (what I would consider to be) a pretty good user of After Effects and Premiere Pro thanks to you. Your style of tutorial is the best on CZcams and I hope you continue for many years to come :)
Thank you so much for your awesome feedback! It's really nice and humbling to hear that my tutorials seem to prove helpful to others out there. I have no plan of stopping, I'll just add new software from time to time that I hope everyone will enjoy learning :)
You and Grant Abbit are my two favorite Blender guys. Both make great videos that are to the point. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for the awesome feedback! Glad to hear you enjoyed the tutorial :D

Thank you and I shall :)
Great video! I hope to see more blender tutorials from you like rigging and animation. Thanks!
Thank you :) And more Blender tutorials will be coming soon!
This tutorial was so good for starters, now moving to the next lesson :)
Thank you so much!
No worries at all :) Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely useful.! Thanks.
Free, easily accessible tools like Blender definitely deserve this kind of attention, thanks, Tobias!
I'd love to see some detailed modeling tutorials.
This channel has taught me pretty much everything I know about AE. It's easy to understand and really well explained =)
Thank you so much for leaving the awesome comment :) Given the positive feedback I am getting it looks VERY likely that I'll be making more Blender tutorials :D
Fantastic explanation, repeating what is important. I was even able to use this tutorial for v2.83 where the interface has substantially changed, but because of they way things are explained, I was able to muddle through and get the results.
Thank you very much for the awesome feedback - great to hear you still managed to work your way through the tutorial! I really gotta update this for 2.8+, just need to find the time :)

Wonderful series; SO GLAD I stumbled across this. Hope to see more about creating a figure, and how clothing and changing tones (such as white in the teeth, pink in the gums works with the character's flesh tone).
Hope to see more soon!

Decided to learn a 3d software today and downloaded Blender. Came across your video while looking for basic tutorials. This video was amazingly crystal clear about the features and basic functions and barely felt daunting. Thank you. Have subbed, will keep touching base here to learn more. :)
