  • Screamin’ Eagle Smart Tune Pro Auto-tuner Review. Is It Worth The Money? Have you ever wondered what your Harley 103 touring bike would feel like with a Screamin Eagle Tuner on it. It changed everything. It was amazing. A lot of people dislike the Harley tuners, but I love it!! And will not void warranty.
    I am a motorcycle enthusiast that rides a 2016 Harley Davidson Road Glide Ultra. Just because I happen to ride a Harley Davidson, does not mean that I am brand specific. All motorcycle makes and models, are welcome here. My road glide is a stage 1 with a Screamin Eagle Pro Street Tuner.

    I have the auto tuner and you are spot on, it just runs steady, especially in the heat ranges and altitudes changes.

    Had the dealer install the torque cam, hi flow intake manifold and Smart Auto Tuner after I did the SE Stage 1 with the Pro Tuner on my 2019 FXLR 107 M8. The Dealer did the same thing, welded the original holes for the O2 Sensors and welded the new bungs, to fit, for the new sensors. Was a bit concerned that it only got 97HP with 104 Torque. But the torque was flat across from 2k up. Dealer told me that after running it the Auto Tuner should get the HP up to 100+. Just had a dyno printout done to see what it looked like. Yep, throttle response proved the torque was strong across the rpm range. Put a smile on my face. Well worth the money!

    TOTALLY agree with your opinion @10:45 +... Thank you for saying that. I have no doubt 1,000's of fellow HD owners/riders feel the same way.

    Just ordered one of these. I have the torque cam, intake and am swapping the SE street cannon mufflers for an S&S 2-1 without the cat. Looking forward to the results. It’s been running very nice with the street tuner, hoping the wide band sensors and 2-1 pipe give it a nice boost.

    Thanks for sharing this good information! I can totally relate & understand what you’re saying. I’ve been considering this for my 21 FXLRS SE 122 CC and because of this video I’ll pull the trigger. I’m just curious and can’t remember if my Bassani exhaust is already set up for wideband compatibility and has the adapters installed with the stock ones currently.
    You still require the normal SE tuner to use the auto tuner correct?

      Yes it take the tuner + the auto tuner. Thanks for stopping by

    System only allows the correction of the VE tables. Does not adjust fuel ratio programmed into the MAP itself. Harley locks it out for EPA reasons. If you want fuel access you need a powervision, tts, Thundermax or others. Do your research.

    Very clever what HD did with the exhaust, sensors and catalyst. Relocating the catalyst to the slip ons, allows the Wide Band O2 sensors to be mounted pre cat. This gives HD compliance for the EPA by still having a catalyst, but also gives HD the ability to run a more powerful tune with wide band o2’s that aren’t being subjected to the post exhaust stream changes that the catalyst is designed to do. Pretty clever.

    Thanks for the video and thoughts on the tuner.
    I have a new Street Glide that I did a Stage 2 with S.E torque cam, catless head pipe and the SE tuner day one on the bike with zero miles. I have a few hundred miles now and I feel I need this to proper tune my bike. However, both my local Harley shops kinda don't suggest I buy this. One service manager said its not worth the cost but I can't get any more info out of them. I'm torn as I hate to be limited to EPA approved tunes long term but after after spending the money on my Stage 2, I'm already in this far $$$ and with Harley S.E Parts and I have 22 months left on warrantee so do I spend the $600 or run with what I got and in a year or so perhaps go aftermarket? With or without warrantee... lots to be said for a perhaps cooler running, richer running bike that I can't get with a Harley product. I can't decide....

    Actually Harleys now come well-tuned from the factory. It's only when you start to change pipes and intakes that it needs a new tune. This is why I was sort of reluctant to change my 23 Lowrider. When I had the dealer install a 2 into 1 Bassani Road Rage 3 I needed to get this setup to retain my warranty. It runs great although I've heard that the Screaming Eagle tuner only auto tunes Screaming Eagle parts.

    Also, does the pro street auto tuner married to that vin for good or can it be taken off and put on another bike ?

    Do you need to do a dyno tune if you have the smart tune pro? I got this set up, 2 into 1 SE tuner with auto tune. Runs good.

    • @ArmeroPR
      @ArmeroPR Před rokem

      No. It just runs closed loop all the time. Works just fine.

  • @jukeslukes
    @jukeslukes Před rokem

    Does the pro street tuner remain plugged in? If the smart tune pro adjusts on the fly then why do you need the pro street tuner?

    • @ernestoluzan
      @ernestoluzan Před rokem

      I have a 22 SGS, and chose to leave the Pro Street tuner plugged in, but it’s not mandatory. The smart tune pro, is hard connected and permanent. The tuner itself is necessary while you are calibrating. Think of the tuner as the translator between the laptop software and the vehicles ECM. It will communicate and write the upgraded fuel maps into the vehicles ECM.
      The auto tune pro is a closed loop auto adjustment module. In layman’s terms, this means the SE engineers have tested and wrote performance maps that take all inputs (IMP, IMT, Fuel Pressure, and Both O2’s etc…) and match them to a table of A/F mixtures to create a near perfect running condition anywhere in the throttle % or load %. It’s also smart enough to learn, and imagine any time there’s an update you also get the benefit of that. Make sense?

    It’s not HD it’s the wonderful EPA Democrat government aka Rats and Not sure of what Indian is doing but how ever but it being Polaris they have been doing the EPA crap junk longer probably knows what they can do and can’t do better I don’t really know but I have wondered maybe if that’s it are whatever it may be but I do know when HD took the bite few years ago all the aftermarket’s like all the tuners and DK JP Revzilla in which all should have gotten behind HD but they all seem dollar signs but yet now it’s fixing to bite them all in their ass
