    Great Video, hey is there a gasket for the timing cover or is it all silicone ?

      Thanks for the comment I appreciate that! Unfortunately it’s all RTV (silicone) really would had been nice of ford to use an actual gasket in its place.

      Thank you for quick response. My timing "gasket" is leaking so I'm having a mechanic reseal the cover, replace timing chain, water pump, and pulley tensioner. Is there anything I can recommend to the mechanic what to watch out for or what other parts to replace, or what products to use? @@SMAutoRepairLLC

      @@Owca_SoccerKids really I think you’ve got it covered follow the correct timing procedure and replacing the chain with the water pump is the best way to do it. Those timing covers are notorious for leaking (especially after being removed and reinstalled) so just making sure the surface is cleaned and prepped for a fresh bead of RTV.

    How do you get the long 15mm in the middle out without lowering the engine

    • @SMAutoRepairLLC
      @SMAutoRepairLLC  Před 10 měsíci

      The engine has to be lowered some to remove that bolt completely, once you have the engine mount removed from the passenger side of engine use a floor jack with a block of wood under the oil pan to support and reposition the engine up or down, whichever is necessary.

    I "wish" you'd had in this video taking the cover out too (just so we could see)....

      If I get the chance to do one again I will a do an entire video covering the removal and install of the cover. It was a key part that I did miss in these videos….when this was recorder I had only been doing CZcams for maybe 6 months.

      @kdeh21803 it may not have that exact lip on it but just do the best you can to pry on the corners on it a little at a time you should be able to work it free.
