History is a big field and you are awsome at funny storytelling - there are so many things you could do another (shorter, probably lower effort if you dont have the energy) series about.

You said it best yourself, the reason you managed to succeed and continue working with incredible fortitude was because you were making videos you wanted to see, but no one else had made yet. If there's nothing else you want to see that has yet to be created, stop making videos. Of course, something in that vein will come to you eventually, and I'm confident you'll make it as amazing or better than the Rome series was.
I'd love a bible series. That would be beyond awesome. You could do it kinda like what Historia Civilis is doing, following the arc, one tale after another, but also producing standalone videos in between all the time to keep it fresh and give yourself more time to get comfortable with the main project.

Read first, mark out interesting stories and ask yourself: "Are these stories absurd/insane enough to tell?" Move on to Medieval topics; Chaucer/Dante, Renaissance stories. History is a gallery of fascinating stories, many of which have gone untold. Merely visualizing those stories suffices to amaze listeners/watchers.

Take a month and speak with channels that switched it up, and most importantly ask yourself if you're actually being inspired to continue or just forcing the passion upon yourself. In the meantime I'm gonna watch the whole byzantine series again, thank you for that masterpiece.

Keep making history videos using your unique story-telling and art style. It really doesn't matter what kind of history. Choose what interests you. You could make a video about the battle of marathon and the next day make a video about the cuban missile crisis. Shrink the video time to just under 30 minutes so it's compelling to watch no matter what time of day it is. Just do what you like, even completely different videos,

Bronze Age history from say, Rise of the Minoans to the Bronze Age Collapse would provide some amazing options in this style. Island-exploding volcanoes, massive land battles, insane rulers, etc; not to mention the looming threat of the the Sea Peoples (black shapes with glowing red eyes, etc. Covers Troy, Exodus, The Mesopotamians, etc.)

One thing that was rly cool about your videos is how you could create a pseudo story (like the plot of a tv series) from periods of roman time with good and bad characters and stuff. So you could try to do the same with game maches (like civ6, rome imperator etc etc).
You play a long game, and when you finish, that's your roman history to narrate, you can change between gameplay footage and your drawing style to re-imagine what is happening and create a narrative out of it. Can be with friends, can be you alone and IA, it can be with other factions other than rome.
That way you can try different games, different animation styles, since each match you narrate is only going to be so long. You can even play on stream so people see what happens and are hyped to see how you convert it into an epic animated story and it would be fresh content each time you do a new walkthrough.

The unbiased history of rome and the byzantines was amazing. There are many great stories in human history all around the world so maybe a series where it would be just such stories of great historical events or figures throughout history?
The video you did on defenestration was one of my favourites. Ive always loved short form historical content. Also in my opinion there is a huge vacuum left by sam O’nellas departure and sliding into that demographic could be worth while
I'd recommend taking a break, honestly. You've done more than enough by simply re-telling Rome's many great stories and it's larger-than-life historical figures in a hilarious and unbiased sense. It is a break well-earned, in my opinion.

Have you looked at Oversimplified? He still managed to pull many views while still maintaining his style of humor and animation, with historical topics. However, what you said about the meme's format longevity is also true. My suggestion is try to make an animation style that is new but still familiar, one that doesn't need to rely on the chad/wojak longevity

A possible path would be a deeper dive into specific events in your style, a lot like the defenestration video. An unbiased history of the battle of Zama, Proscriptions, the Boshin wars. Same format, shorter videos, varied topics

You once mensiond doing something on the Swedish Empire. It's probably be more of a stand alone video than a series, but me and many others would love to see something like that.
