They need to bring back Concentration!
Duriel Roberts I agree. Make it a 60-minute version with two teams with toss-up rebuses (ala Bumper Stumpers) for control of the board. Winning team plays (two-parter bonus round matchup and final rebus) for a possible 12 prize package worth over $200,000 including a $20,000+ car and $25,000 cash.
WITH RETURNING CHAMPIONS...
@@JoeyLamontagne Agreed, if it was in daily first run syndication.
@@codymerryman5605 I'd wish NBC just made a primetime version, perhaps over the summer/midseason to give it a welcome. Even if its a limited run like what ABC did with its shows, it would still be a must watch thing for me.
@@pannoni1491 Maybe that could still happen. But we'll see.
Can't get this out of my head.
I love the whole song myself but that open for it is legit one of the BEST Opens to a song ever and the company that composed that needs to give themselves a pat on the back for sure
No, it's not from Puzzlers & Spellbinders. It's from BODY LANGUAGE 1984-1986 TicketPlug and from CONCENTRATION 1985 Pilot Theme.
I grew up listening to intro theme from Classic Concentration, a Mark Goodson produced show!📺
The Puzzlers theme is the SAME theme was on Mindreaders, and Spellbinders used its own cue.
Also heard on non-USA "Walt Disney Studio Film Collection" previews. Here it is.

in Australia:
1. Pollyanna
2. Old Yeller
3. Swiss Family Robinson
4. Blackbeard's Ghost

3. L'Île sur le toit du monde

It's not from Puzzlers or Spellbinders, OR Body Language. It was only used for the Concentration 1985 pilot and Classic Concentration
Alex Trebek hosted the 1987-1991 version of Classic Concentration on NBC
@howilu Actually, the Classic Concentration theme was remixed so it sounds a little different.
This is the theme for the "Body Language" ticket plug.
also the occasional prize plug. they played it sonetimes during the latter half of the show’s run whenever someone won a prize by solving all 5 words.
@gshowguy The announcer was Johnny Olson. Wink Martindale has the pilot up on his CZcams channel.
Never saw "Spellbinders". No doubt it ran in syndication and was not picked up in my old neck of the woods (Savannah, Ga.)
Spellbinders never got picked up as a series.
The Puzzlers theme was the same as Mind Readers, not Concentration
Andrew Schroy It did, and the Puzzlers theme was the same as Mindreaders for that matter.
Johnny Olson was the announcer on Puzzlers.
I have the concentration pilot in my collection, the theme was the exact same one used on classic concentration. and wasn't the theme on spellbinders more or less a jazzy version of twinkle, twinkle little star?
@nightfly776 I think it does, it's sure got a disco sound to it.
don't forget body language ticket plug!
There were three pilot episodes of Puzzlers taped on the same day in the spring of 1980. They all used the retired Mindreaders music. NBC passed and after a month or two the concept was shown to CBS in the form of an office run-through (not the NBC pilot). CBS also passed and it was never shown to ABC. I was there.
"Spellbinders" used a variant of the ABC song; "Puzzlers" used the theme from "Mindreaders".
Behind These Numbers is a Puzzle, Can You Solve it?
Behind these numbers is a puzzle. Can you solve it?
Gin + Rail, General
Hoe + “S” + Pie + Tail, Hospital
“General Hospital”
If you can do that, you’ll have a chance to win one of these 8 fabulous cars, as we play “CLASSIC CONCENTRATION”!
Wow, talk about rare. And I can't believe how similar the themes are.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't The Puzzlers Pat Sajak's first show?
He did a pilot for a different game called "Press Your Luck" (based on the board game Simon) that I believe pre-dates Puzzlers, being filmed in 1979 or so.
EDIT: I just did some checking. I can't find the old press photo Ralph Edwards' site once had up from the Press Your Luck pilot, but I was able to find that it was filmed in 1980 like Puzzlers was. I'm not sure which one came first, although I would guess it was Press Your Luck.
How did Spell Binders and Puzzlers work, and is it possible to post a video of either one?
The full Puzzlers pilot is already on CZcams.
This similar to, but not quite the same as the theme to "Classic Concentration".
It was the ticket plug cue for Body Language, which inspired the composition for the Classic Concentration theme.
This was NOT the theme song for Puzzlers.
Puzzlers 1980 Pilot didn’t use this theme.
Looks like Bill Anderson, fresh from his Better Sex gig.
so that was the theme to spellbinders and Puzzlers eh?
Orson Bean hosted the Pilot for "Concentration", Pat Sajak hosted tv game show pilot "Puzzlers", but who was the host of the Pilot TV Game show, "Spell Binders"?
Bill Anderson
That trapezoid N looked stupid.
the host of spellbinders was bill anderson who had hosted the better sex
That doesn't sound like 1978 music at all.
I thought Spell Binders had a theme similar to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star/The Alphabet Song...
The Puzzlers theme was the MIndreaders theme
