I am legally blind, and have been since a little after birth. It was an accident, but my lungs were undeveloped and they put an oxygen mask on my face that destroyed my eye cells. I am blind out of my left eye and have 20/200 in my right. I definitely have those days of feeling sorry for myself. It stinks because despite me wanting to be an independent person, I have to rely on others for transportation and other things that require good vision. I wouldn't know how it feels to lose all my vision, but I enjoy watching your videos. I have some of my own. Thank you for posting, and sharing your stories. I like how I can connect with others who are in similar situations as myself. :)
Thanks so much for this, it is really hard to rely on people and we have to remember that sad days only last as long as we want them to and we can keep smiling through the storm :) xxx
😕
Aww man, I feel really bad for the both of you, I do wish you the best of luck.
Who wrote this then?
@@simrandeepkaur2294 I'm sure that she can still type. Or maybe she asked someone to type it for her.
This made me feel so sad for you, I have been blind since birth so I have never had sight to b able to miss it. But as my nan always used to say, put some lippy on and keep smiling. I'm so glad u have such a supportive family. Xx
I defo put some lippy on and keep smiling hehe! At least i know i only get one of these days every so often! We shall keep smiling together lovely xx
Wait how did u write this

My dad lost his sight after an eye operation went wrong and honestly he's lost hope to do anything. You are inspirational because you do so much and haven't lost hope xxx.
I can so relate, my thoughts go out to him. Sometimes you can hit a wall of no hope but it's really important to keep smiling and think of the things around that are good in life xxx
YesterdaysWishes 100% agree and I tell him about you all the time. Xxx
I know I'm super late, but another really cool blind CZcamsr is Molly Burke. You should definitely look her up!

I found this video today, March 24, 2021. I truly feel lucky to be able to see things everyday and respect those who cannot see yet still continue with day-to-day life. To those who are blind, I respect you
Thanks for the video despite your flu! I hope you get better soon. x
Thank you! getting a lot better, should be ok for lucy live tomorrow hope to see you there :) x
@@lucyedwards Hi
If I can tip proply than it means u arnt blund
How u know
@Jessie Jones huh
I pray in the future that they will come out with a cure for blindness
God bless my friend 🙏
Ikr that would help a lot of blind people
@J imagine eye transplant like heart transplant
I've heard that there are cyborg eyes,I'm not sure how they work but I know I've heard of them before. I mean, you would have to take out the original eye first (I think.) so It'd be more of a replacement and It prolly wouldn't be 100% perfect vision, but still. (Please note I only saw a short clip of what I'm talking about so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.)
@@frankiemcbean. those are called bionical eyes you can see like 70% of colours with those. Edit: 1 bionical eye costs 10000000 Euro

I have been blind since birth. I can't imagine what you went threw. I am so sorry. Just know that you can do what ever you set your mind to

Hi I just want to say that I don’t think that you’re blind or that means he won’t able to type this
@@rosiebee9463 You don't need to be able to see to type. Maybe she used voice to text.🤦♂️🤦♂️
I know this is a sadder video but I just wanted to say that since you've kind of "came back" so to speak to yesterday's wishes and now that you and your sister are producing more content I've noticed that your mood seems to have gotten a bit better and it really makes me so happy to see. I know I'm a stranger on the internet but watching your journey and being a part of it in some small way brings me great joy. You truly are making a difference in the world.❤
This is possibly the sweetest comment that i've ever had! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to write this! it really means a lot to me. I'm definitely a lot happier than i have been in nearly 4 years and im glad you can tell! Thank you for being a part of yesterdayswishes because this channel would be nothing without you watching! Lots of hugs lovely xxxx
YesterdaysWishes I'm glad you were able to read my comment! Keep on smiling and everything else will fall into place! Much love!❤
Lucy, me and my Daughter Teyah love and admire you so much. My Daughter is registered blind with very little sight. She watches your videos every day and you're a real inspiration to her. Keep being you. You bring my Daughter so much to look forward to. Lots of love ❤️
all the best to you and your daughter 💙
I totally relate to this, I lost all of my hearing, and thankfully I got some of it back. But thinking back to that experience, I can't remember the last thing I heard and for those 2 whole weeks, I had sirens ( the sound of a siren) but I couldn't hear so it was my auditory nerve acting up because it was not used to not be stimulated. I couldn't sleep at night. And I totally feel for you, watching your videos brings me joy! Thank you! Btw yes I do know I am writing this kinda late, ( 3 years) idk if your going to read this but, yeah. Keep being positive, and remember you can do anything!
Lucy I think your honesty is amazing and to be able to share your thoughts and feelings is fearless. You are the most positive and determined person and I admire you so much x by the way you still look gorgeous even when you're ill !
You are so inspirational, you're blind, and you haven't given up. We're all here for you always, and we all love you.
Thank you Lucy. Watching this video now, you come a heck of a long way in that time. That's what a good support network and your positive mental attitude does for anyone facing challenges in life.
Lucy, you will never realise the cheer you bring to us even when you are unwell and i can see you have spirit and i thank you for being so positive. You will get through this i promise xxx
You’re such a sweet kid & it breaks my heart to see you sad. We all get down now & then but I hope to see your beautiful smile bouncing back soon
Wow. Just... Wow. I'm just out of words. Getting through this and staying so positive, it just amazes me. It really makes me think if my depression and anxiety makes any sense, lol. Hearing this, and seeing how productive, positive, joyful you are, it just gives me so much strength to get up no matter how deep I am in my own negative beliefs from myself. I really look up to you. Keep on going with the great content you make and don't get those nasty a** nightmares get you. Your happiness gives hope to people. It brings them joy, so thank you for sharing this with us!
Wish you all the best,
Daniel 😊
However positive we all try to be every now and then we all allow the sad or negative thoughts to come in, so it's ok to feel that way. especially when we lose something permanantly. So don't be hard on yourself. You look great by the way.
I'm so sorry :( By accident I have found this video on that day... But honestly, you are my big inspiration in life right now. You have such a power girl! Giving positive energy and not giving up, please keep going ! Love ya 💕
Thank you for the videos Lucy. It is very enlightening and educational. Get better soon.
Thank you Lucy for Sharing your thoughts, I felt it. Your voice is so lovely.
She's so strong
I love your videos! Your so inspirational!
I've watched your videos for a while, just happened to watch this today, the 24th of March. And I just wanted to say your inspirational the things you can do blind that I can't do as well is astonishing. I hope this specific day is going good for you. Lots of love.
I work overnights and as you were saying the 24th I had to check my calendar. You have really done so much I have a lot of respect for you.
I lost my mom to suicide two days before I lost my second die, so what little peripheral vision I had left was very blurry. Hope you’re okay on the anniversary tomorrow.
How to did you write this lol

Yesss totally relate to the whole feeling worse thing. I have nystagmus which gets so much worse when I'm ill that I actually notice it and I generally just feel like my vision is much worse and it's not even great right now! Such an interesting story to hear as well, hope you feel better soon x
Thanks Beth, I'm glad that we can relate to each other hope everything is ok with you today :) we can stay positive together

I didn’t know you were on Say Yes To Dress. Can someone help me with finding that episode?
I’m a nurse. I thought to myself, is it possible to be that up all the time? And you answered my question. It must have been devastating at such a young age. But thank goodness you had your fiancé. You adapted beautifully. I’m In the states. New York. We have schools for the blind. Did you have the same things available to you. I’m so proud of you. You took a negative and turned it into a positive. Even with your sad times. I wish you the best and nothing less. I myself am learning so much from your videos. I’m not blind but I do have some impairment. And so many things have helped me out as well.

I can't believe she will of been blind for 8 years now

I have a rare I disorder called Peters anomaly. I've gone through multiple corneal transplant in each eye. I am blind in my right eye but have very low vision in my left. I'm going under multiple complications with my I right now due to glaucoma and in need of another transplant. I'm not sure if I'm gonna lose my vision or not because of the waiting process for another cornea but there is hope that I'll get a transplant soon and I won't become fully blind yet. At the moment though I feel very helpless because I have always relied on magnification and what not to do things.
I’ll be praying for you! ❤️❤️❤️🥰❤️❤️❤️
im watching this during covid and it makes me really happy, watching you be amazing :)

Thank you! So happy you like my videos! Your lovely comment made me smile XXXXX
Please feel better soon!!❤😊
This video is from 2017.
I'm not disabled, but I think I can empathise more with disabled people since I don't speak the local language of the country I live in.
So, it's a little bit like being deaf during announcements and people talking around me and a little like being blind when it comes to any kind of writing.
I hope that this does offend anybody. I absolutely realize that this is NOT a fair comparison for many reasons (e.g. it only affects communication, not all sounds/images. Also it was my own choice to come here and I am in the process of learning the language).
However, I DO know what it feels like to need help with things that the people around you don't need help with. Or finding challenges in small tasks that other people don't think about much.
You meant “doesn’t offend anyone.”
I’m so sorry your so brave!!!
Hey lovely Lucy! We spoke last year. Really glad to see you on the screen more regularly Sorry to hear that your are ill at the mo, chin up chummy! Tomorrow is another day Love in loving the new format on the chanal btw. Sending you lots of hugs sweet 😘🐾
Hey! Glad you're liking the new format and regular posts
Which 13 people disliked this blind girl ?!?!
@LoxpyLewy what are you saying
@LoxpyLewy bro he literally asked you a question. and now you hate the entire years? my god kid grow up.
@LoxpyLewy actually there's something called haters and bots. Grow up kid.
bots and haters. grow up everyone dislike everything. I guarantee you disliked videos too. Don't act innocent.
@LoxpyLewy yes
I have a similar story once when I was going for my Michael procedure scheduled for the morning but didn't take me until nighttime and I can relate to have a wedding drive you crazy
I cannot imagine living life blind ..but i am diasabled and i understand those challenges .. but i do have an affinity for blind horses .. most people throw a blind horse away i provide a long life full of love ans comfort and understanding for them and i try hard to help them feel able to do anything that a sighted horse can do ..
Im late but you are very talented and may god bless you
She is a very creative and smart person :)
I am so sorry this happened to you...
*HUGS*
happy aniversery lucy its 24 march!!!!!!!!!
you are amazing
Thanks so much for sharing all this with us. It is teaching us all respect and love for what we have. Such great contributions compared to all that rubbish on youtube and elsewhere.
But one thing I didn't get. After that eye exam you described at the end of your video came the surgery, right? And was your vision gone before the surgery already or did the surgery take the rest of your vision? When was the moment when you knew that now you are blind? And how was your immediate reaction and feelings?
Thanks again Lucy and take care!

What an amazing person. I've had bad floaters since I was a kid, they drive me crazy. This is going to be the last time I complain about them.

You are so sweet dear don't feel sad please
I became a diabetic in 2020, one of the first things they told me is that you can lose your vision and even your feet. I live with that constant fear every day. My visions become very blurry some mornings.
Been diabetic (type 1) for 6 years and the thought of losing my sight is the thing that scares me the most.
Get better soon I am also sick it sucks. I am visually impaired and had to have cornea transplants since about three weeks old I get eye aches because I have calcium deposits on my eyes it sucks I feel your pain🙏
Preach it!!
I'm pretty sure I just seen you on a show on BBC, on a safari!! My husband was watching it I said omg I think that was Lucy lol and I showed him a video lol

Hi lucy I just subed keep being u 💗
Please feel better soon; nothing is worse than a flu.
Thanks i feel a litte better today! see you tomorrow for lucy live :) xx
this aged poorly
I have really bad vision on both eyes (my right being the worst). I can barely see without glasses, all I see is a colourful blur. On the right eye it’s worse, but i still have bad vision in my left. Cleaning my glasses in fun and not fun at the same time, be us I can barely see.
Edit: I only have bad vision, I’m not going blind or something like that. It’s just bad vision.
I think it is awesome that you are putting yourself out there and I am glad that the comments are nice. I do have a question, How did 1 of your eyes go to the other side?
Can I ask, how do you know what colour you're using with eyeshadow etc. ? I'm just curious xx
Mary her boyfriend describes the colour to her and then labels it using her penfriend (search rnib penfriend) on CZcams. :)
hi both! :) Lydia is right i do this with some of my palettes but others i can just remember depending on how much i use them :) Xx
Question- so u saw colour before you lost your vision what colour do u see now? I assume you see black but I'm not sure
Your gorgeous
When I watched your wedding l new l seen you on the tv advertisement ❤

Yea I once looked at my cat and saw 2 of him and now I wonder if ima going to go blind
I hope no one here is blind I m so sorry for that people who can't see the beautiful world
I have a question! Do you know what you look like?
I have been blind sice 7
Please please don't take this the wrong way or think I am being rude but how can you being blind do your makeup soo well & beautiful, then there is me who isn't that looks like a clown when I've done my makeup! Also if you don't want to answer that's absolutely fine & I totally understand but where in Birmingham do you live or where do you Live around Birmingham if you don't want to say on CZcams you don't have too.
Happy anniversary it's 24 march 2021

How do you edit your videos?
I am a fan of yours I can't
I'm watching this from 4 years ago... Tomorrow is the 24th that will be your 8th anniversary being blind
How did you get blind?
The 24th of march is the day before my birthday. I'm so sorry xxx
In my past their were twin boys that put in incubator they didn't cover their eyes before putting them on oxygen. That's how they became blind
Me watching this and she says her anniversary of going blind is on the 24th of march and me being like is that today??? I checked my calendar and it was lol fun coincidence
